Azrafel (Mortal form) sketch preview! (Patreon)

Good morning!

I figured a good way to start this Sunday could be with a design preview of the upcoming God Azrafel animated battler, as suggested by Damian Castaway!

 Azrafel (Mortal form) Description behind the creature: A average 5"9 Caucasian human with blue hair and a red scar down his right eye (Just one clean strike). Over his body is a black cloak thats torn down the middle revealing his scarred chest which holds his 6-pack abs and just under his neck is a glowing blue "infinity" tattoo which represents the cycle of life and death. His expression is somber, like hes been alive long enough to be affected by all the suffering he has seen. 

Nailing the expression for this character was the toughest part, but after that also adding some stylistic elements to his suggested clothing was another fun challenge!

At some point I experimented with placing the infinity tattoo in his chest, and making it more prominent, but it drew attention away from the huge scar, so I opted against it!

The green elements added to his design were a way to communicate life, which I felt could contrast well with black which we tend to associate with death! (Or maybe its just me who associates black with death haha)

For his finalized form I will further refine his expression, apply some porportion fixes to his body and perhaps approach the eye scar a bit differently, as right now he kinda looks like he is shedding bloody tears, isn't he? 

All in all a very fun character which took quite some time to nail down!
