My dear friends and supporters,

today I was informed by Patreon that there seem to be more payment problems from active patrons. Since this affects you as much as it does me, I'll share the text with you here. Patreon wrote:

Hi there,
An  issue with a payment partner is causing a slightly higher-than-normal  number of your patron payments to be declined by their banks. We've  traced the increased declines back to payments system upgrades required  by one of our processing partners. Patrons might see some payments  declined while changes take effect.
If a patron reaches out to you about a decline, you can advise them to follow these steps:
- Contact their card issuer to confirm the charge is valid and retry that card.
- If the retry does not work, try a different payment method. Patrons can edit their payments in their Settings, under Billing History.

We’re deeply sorry about these interruptions and appreciate your patience as we work to resolve them.

I then checked all the information this morning but could not see any failures. If you are affected, please follow the Patreon instructions.

Best wishes,
Jim

I had issues at the beginning of the month with a lot of people I pledge to on Patreon and while they are mainly fixed now I am having issues with one still but it seems like more then just a payment issue

Like I said pretty much all on the people I pledge to I was able to re-pledge too. Though the issue I'm having with one of them is just confusing I go to pledge and it takes me to their home page like normal but I can't see any posts and I asked them they said they were notified that the payment went through so I'm not sure what's going on there.

I liked supporting people on here. Sorry this has scared me away from using this app anymore. Had about a dozen subscriptions, no more. What scared me was if companies change their processing, they are usually skirting some law. Then turn scummy. Patreon has been been doing too many changes and has enabled piracy through the API keys. This forced a lot of big creators to have convoluted ways to get content. This also feels like some changes are coming and it is going to do more harm to creators and supporters.

I'm sorry this news startled you, Mr.Pickles. Precisely because this system is constantly changed by Patreon, I think it is a very safe -and as a rule- also good. Of course, there are always changes that one does not particularly like, but everyone is free to look for another platform. Of course, I think it's a pity that you canceled all your support, not only with me. But I can understand your decision.
