I found myself at a bit of a standstill on learning Unreal. The standstill is I cant. Like I cant even try. My puppy is very clingy and needy, between the constant in and out and wanting to play, he also whines a lot and I've no idea why. It makes it very hard to concentrate on learning something when you are interupted every 5-10 minutes (and yes, I accidently timed this but trying to watch an intro video and looked at the time stamps every pause), he does take naps but they dont last longer than 20 minutes and when I'm looking into 7 hours of tutorials, I need a bit more... time to focus.
So its not backburned but it is. What I'll be doing is, working towards that games (Game 1) game bible, the crafting/selling/item charts, the different mechanics and researching all of that.
I will also be focusing more time on Game 2, the Visual novel.
The VN is called Past the Moon Towards the Sun, and its roughly about a witch in training that was kidnapped by a beastly looking creature that controls rats. Its very, very, very loosely based off of another fairy tale, and no not Beauty and the Beast. I started writing it back in 2009 - 2014, which was the last time I worked on it. Being it was written in novel form (and technically never finished it), I'm not going to have to rewrite the whole thing in a script format.
I dont mind, and its easier to start and stop while I wait for Maple to get a bit older than 7 months. That being said, being that it was written as a novel originally, I dont have many diverting paths. I can make some that will slightly alter the story, but ultimately it will run the same story I wrote until I can get to points to really change things and give alternate endings. I know some VNs are like this but not sure how popular they are or if thats something people care about (having a lot or little control of the overall story).
On top of all of this, I decided to use Live2D rigs for the models of them, so I can make a variety of expressions and poses. I think Renpy allows live2d motion but I wont be using that, at least not my current plan.
Anyways, thanks for listening and understanding.
