[Pre] Dev Dairy (Patreon)
Content
So to start the Dev Diary for Patreon I wanted to talk about what I've done so far, which isn't too much that's dev like so hence the [Pre].
In my hiatus for 3 weeks I decided on my projects and resolved to settle in my next phase of life in this rather daunting challenge.
I also came up with my studio name, logo,
Finished the live2d I was working on for myself for streaming
Reformatted the discord
Announced my plans, although Patreon hasn't been redone yet. That will be upcoming soon enough.
For the games:
Game 1: A 3d crafting game.
Currently working on the game bible. Trying to establish world history/lore. Coming up with mechanics and details on how I want them to work. A general idea of a map, along with main characters, the UI/UX. I have tons of to still fill out in this, including items/ crafting recipes and so on, but that will be worked on as I start to learn Unreal. Everything is very much in the planning stage. I've also been collecting unreal assets to practice with.
Game 2: A visual novel.
Since the story has already been basically created, I'm mostly going to focus on rewriting it for a visual novel, in first person (as I found that seems to be more of the way I've seen them) I've started writing the Prologue chapter. I've decided to divide the story into major points into chapters to write. I contacted someone to be my editor or proof reader.
I've decided with a bit of a hybrid ADV/NVL style, where mostly it will be ADV, but with bulk text, more NVL. If I dont like how this looks I may change my mind and stick solely with ADV.
The story is not really a romance, but more just OELVN. Since the story was originally written a long time ago, it comes off as kinetic but I may try to rearrange things to allow choices and alternate endings.
Both games are planned for PC. I'm depending on how the first game goes I may try to make it for other platforms, but really just focusing on PC.
Both of the games have similar themes, of a magical world where mages/wizards/witches live. There is no connection between the stories/worlds.
