Accessing your Foundry VTT Premium Content (Patreon)
Content
Hey all!
For those folks who are in the All The Things™ tier and are Foundry users, here's a little guidance on how to connect your Patreon account to our Foundry Premium Content packs, i.e. our entire Foundry back catalogue.
Step 1: Link your Patreon Account to your Foundry Account
All you have to do is log into your Foundry VTT account and link your Patreon account. If you support us at the All The Things™ tier you'll be able to any of our themed map modules using the normal Foundry VTT package installer. Whilst you remain a Patron you will be able to download our map packs and update them.
Here are the steps to link your account:
1. Support our All The Things™ tier
2. Log in on the Foundry VTT website: https://foundryvtt.com/
3. Edit your profile here: https://foundryvtt.com/me/edit
4. Link your Patreon account at the bottom of the page if you haven't already.
5. Verify The MAD Cartographer shows up under https://foundryvtt.com/me/subscriptions. If The MAD Cartographer does not appear as expected under your "Subscribed Content" page of your user profile, you may need to Refresh your Patreon link using the 'Refresh' button next to your linked account name.
Step 2: Installing a Map Pack
Most of our packs can be found in the Add-on Modules by doing a search for The MAD Cartographer then you simply install the map pack that you want.
Alternative Method: Installing From the Manifest Links
If you head to our packages page you will see all the available map modules (this currently does not have last months Modular Caverns or this months Faewilds, they will be added this week).
Right click the Manifest URL link and "Copy link address" then from the Foundry VTT launcher head to Add-on Modules and paste your copied link to the "Manifest URL" box at the bottom and click "Install".
Note: Even with the link you can only install or update these modules if you are an active All The Things™ supporter
Step 3: Activate the Map Pack
Open Foundry VTT, launch your world, then head to the Game Settings tab in the top right (the little cogs), then click "Manage Modules". This allows you to manage all the modules and compendiums you have installed. Here you can select one of my map packs then click "Save Module Settings"
Step 4: Import the Compendium Content
Now that the compendium is activated you head to your Compendium Packs tab (the weird book thing next to the cogs), this is where all the default compendiums and map packs will be accessible. Click the "Scene" Compendium and it will open up all the scenes for that pack, here you can drag and drop them into your Scenes tab. Alternatively right click the Scene compendium in the Compendiums tab "TheMADCartographer | Caverns Scene (mad-caverns)" and click "Import All Content"
Additional Things:
1) Check the Journal Entries for the map packs, they will show you which maps use different modules (Token Attacher, Levels, etc.) and give you some insights on how to use the map itself
2) Modular map packs (Urban Exteriors, Towns & Cities, Modular Caverns) use the Actors Compendium (as they use Token Attacher module) not the normal Scenes compendium, there is a journal entry telling you how these can be used and how to make your own
3) Our Premium Content packs are not available through Forge any more, due to the exclusivity of having content as Premium Content. You should still be able to install maps through Forge, but it will not use your Forge storage data by default.
Hope that helps ya'll!
