Hey all!

For those folks who are in the All The Things™ tier and are Foundry users, here's a little guidance on how to connect your Patreon account to our Foundry Premium Content packs, i.e. our entire Foundry back catalogue.

Step 1: Link your Patreon Account to your Foundry Account

All you have to do is log into your Foundry VTT account and link your Patreon account. If you support us at the All The Things™ tier you'll be able to any of our themed map modules using the normal Foundry VTT package installer. Whilst you remain a Patron you will be able to download our map packs and update them.

Here are the steps to link your account:

1. Support our All The Things™ tier

2. Log in on the Foundry VTT website: https://foundryvtt.com/

3. Edit your profile here: https://foundryvtt.com/me/edit

4. Link your Patreon account at the bottom of the page if you haven't already.

5. Verify The MAD Cartographer shows up under https://foundryvtt.com/me/subscriptions. If The MAD Cartographer does not appear as expected under your "Subscribed Content" page of your user profile, you may need to Refresh your Patreon link using the 'Refresh' button next to your linked account name.

Step 2: Installing a Map Pack

Most of our packs can be found in the Add-on Modules by doing a search for The MAD Cartographer then you simply install the map pack that you want.

Alternative Method: Installing From the Manifest Links

If you head to our packages page you will see all the available map modules (this currently does not have last months Modular Caverns or this months Faewilds, they will be added this week).

Right click the Manifest URL link and "Copy link address" then from the Foundry VTT launcher head to Add-on Modules and paste your copied link to the "Manifest URL" box at the bottom and click "Install".

Note: Even with the link you can only install or update these modules if you are an active All The Things™ supporter

Step 3: Activate the Map Pack

Open Foundry VTT, launch your world, then head to the Game Settings tab in the top right (the little cogs), then click "Manage Modules". This allows you to manage all the modules and compendiums you have installed. Here you can select one of my map packs then click "Save Module Settings"

Step 4: Import the Compendium Content

Now that the compendium is activated you head to your Compendium Packs tab (the weird book thing next to the cogs), this is where all the default compendiums and map packs will be accessible. Click the "Scene" Compendium and it will open up all the scenes for that pack, here you can drag and drop them into your Scenes tab. Alternatively right click the Scene compendium in the Compendiums tab "TheMADCartographer | Caverns Scene (mad-caverns)" and click "Import All Content"

Additional Things:

1) Check the Journal Entries for the map packs, they will show you which maps use different modules (Token Attacher, Levels, etc.) and give you some insights on how to use the map itself

2) Modular map packs (Urban Exteriors, Towns & Cities, Modular Caverns) use the Actors Compendium (as they use Token Attacher module) not the normal Scenes compendium, there is a journal entry telling you how these can be used and how to make your own

3) Our Premium Content packs are not available through Forge any more, due to the exclusivity of having content as Premium Content. You should still be able to install maps through Forge, but it will not use your Forge storage data by default.

Hope that helps ya'll!

For other fellow Moten users: Your molten account is linked to your foundry VTT account. Hence just login to the normal foundry website https://foundryvtt.com/me/edit Link your account, and it the packages should be downloadable via molten too.

Hi, how do I access the adventure tier through The Forge hosting service?

themadcartographer

As our content is accessible through the Foundry-Patreon Premium system, it unfortunately means it can't be hosted directly / searched for on Forge. You would have to install the pack normally and then upload it to Forge through your account as your own accessed content.

Out of curiosity do we have a rough ETA for when these modules will be updated to support Foundry V12, I currently can't download anything outside of the Pick n Mix packs as they're all set for V11 at the moment.

themadcartographer

Token Attacher just updated and was the last dependency we were waiting on. We have to go over and tweak audios in our map modules as v12 changed some stuff, so they'll be being updated over the next few days and all released at the same time 👍

This was a really helpful addition. Thank you!

Any guides on how to connect your patreon to Foundry on Molten Hosting?

Anonymous

https://moltenhosting.com/ it's a cloud based hosting service for Foundry. It's all good though, I got it working.

themadcartographer

Ah okay, this would be a Foundry dealio, nothing that we can do with from our end (same with them opening things up through Forge). It would be installing them locally through the Add-on Modules.

I currently use Dungeon Fog and would like to use some of the assets in my maps. I know a previous post stated I could use assets by downloading through mybridge. However, my latest password from emails is from January. How do I get access to Mybridge so I can download content.

themadcartographer

Password in emails is just for the free maps from the newsletter, your password and link for accessing your tier content from MyAirBridge can be found in your tier Master List (link is in the "Downloads and Important Information" sticky at the top of the Patreon page)

the walls don't seem to be working as I can see through them all, how do I fix this?

I was looking for some common taverns to use for random travels do you have an i dea where i could look?

themadcartographer

The most recent Downtown pack has a more traditional tavern/inn; it's a large two storey building available as an individual tile/map or building

When enabling the Swamp map pack in Foundry VTT I didn't understand the import prompt and chose to import specific things, but then no window popped up after that. Now I can't import any of the content from the map pack. I've tried uninstalling the map pack from my foundry vtt server, then re-installing it and re-enabling it for my world, but the scenes still don't appear in the compendium.

themadcartographer

If scenes aren't appearing it might because they're in your "General" compendium folder (which is probably because you still have Compendium Folders module enabled as this was a dependency previously, but since v10 we don't need it). If you disable/remove Compendium Folders I believe things should start to show up properly.

Thanks for replying. Its a fresh install of foundry v10.287 since last sunday only a week ago so ive never installed compendium folders, if its some module you're referring to. I'll ask on the foundry discord, see if they can help. I'll report back here with the solution if i find it. Oh, and there are various modules of yours which are incompatible with foundry v10.287. I tried installing the downtown module and it reported incompatibilities, never prompted to import it, and it broke other modules such as dice so nice. I don't know if it's your downtown module's dependencies which broke it, because they were incompatible, too.
