I've been tossing around the idea of putting a sterling engine onto my charcoal retort. Currently all of the heat energy of gas combustion goes efficiently fairly efficiently right back into heating the retort. The trouble is that the design is basically too efficient and for awhile the thing turns into a runaway jet engine that belches massive flames out the chimney and gets the heat-exchanger so hot that I'm pretty sure it massively shortens the lifespan.

I love the idea of building your own Stirling Cryocooler! If you're really gonna do this, it would be awesome to see a detailed build video or even some plans of dimensions and materials used. Keep up the great work! Greetings from Switzerland
