Gritting her teeth, Samus pressed her side against the tree trunk, making her exposed skin protest where the hard bark dug in.

As she looked around the corner, the bushes rustled behind her. “Stay quiet,” she hissed.

Turning back, Samus saw the woman named Zelda nod and cease moving, looking more perturbed by her clothing than the situation they were in. Samus could sympathize–her bikini bottoms were riding right up her…

For a second, the two of them stood utterly still as Samus tuned her ears to the cacophony of the jungle. Beneath the buzzing of bugs and the squawks of exotic birds, she could hear something…

Around them, the colorful fruits dangling from the palm trees pulsed like living hearts.

There, thought Samus, turning ninety degrees. That direction.

In the distance, Samus could hear singing.

Turning back to Zelda, Samus motioned for her to follow. “This way,” she said. “Quietly.” She didn’t know what was producing the singing, but her hunter’s instincts told her to find out before it found her.

She crept forward, wishing she had her armor–every time she moved, her boobs jostled uncomfortably in her top. She resisted the urge to adjust it again.

With a rustle of leaves, she broke out of the treeline and into a little clearing where the sun shone through the canopy. Eye drones hovered between the tree trunks. She ignored them.

Two paths through the jungle lay ahead:

To the left, she heard the sound of buzzing, far louder than any normal insect’s. When the wind blew, she smelled something sickly sweet.

To the right: the sound of singing, rich and musical. The foliage in that direction seemed especially overgrown, dotted with vivid pink flowers.

Finally, from behind her came the soft hiss of the sea against the shore.

A twig snapped behind her as Zelda stepped into the clearing. “What now?” said the princess, voice carefully controlled. “Which path do we take?”

Samus’s Collar beeped.
