Upcoming New Music Room! (Patreon)

At 40 music tracks and counting, the Changeling Tale Soundtrack is a work of art unto itself, and something our composer CheasyDino is rightfully proud of! While the OST is available on Steam and to our Sponsor tier patrons right here on Patreon, I imagine most of you listen to the soundtrack in-game; which brings us to today's topic, the Music Room!

As one of the few remaining stock Ren'Py menu screens left in the game, the Music Room was well overdue an upgrade. It simply wasn't optimized for a soundtrack this size-- but when the next game build comes out, you will see the Music Room looks quite a bit different!

I've moved the controls to the bottom and expanded the scrollable track list window to better accommodate Cheasy's prolific work. In the corner, resident performer Jessie MacLeod now accompanies you on your musical journey (it's from the special soundtrack cover art we made earlier!).

The controls themselves have been redesigned as streamlined icons with tooltips that explain what the buttons do when hovered over. All the original functionality is still there, with the addition of a pause/play button and a mute button.

Ren'Py wasn't built as a media player—so the Music Room remains fundamentally simple—but I hope these small improvements make your listening experience just a little bit better. And expect the track list to keep getting longer as CheasyDino composes even more magnificent music!
