A review of my trip to Japan and the Kemoket13 event.

I have so much to say about this trip, but I'll try to summarize it as best as I can. I've been thinking about participating in Kemoket since mid-last year. It's been 6 years since I started using Patreon, but I've never taken a break. I was so tired that I thought I'd take a month off and that's how the plan for Kemoket came about.

By the way, I have never been on an overseas trip before XD. So, it was a big challenge for me in many ways lol.

I also made a passport and prepared for the sale of the book for Kemoket participation.

It seems that there were a lot of unexpected difficulties during your preparation for the event.

I had initially thought that the preparation would take around 4 days, but due to incorrect information and demands from the first printing company, it took several more days to prepare.

The printing company kept making unreasonable demands, which resulted in a waste of time. Despite the challenges, I managed to get everything ready by the end of April when the work for season 1 of my manga was completed.

Me was gradually getting more and more frustrated...

The comic pages were already too many.

It was too difficult to prepare each page to meet the format.

For example, the image file format had to be made into a PSD(Photoshop file), but the 490 pages had to be combined one by one with the image files provided by the print shop

The amount had grown to 33GB, I had to spend a lot of time searching Google to reduce it. Uploading a 250mb file to the printer's website took more than 10 minutes, there were not just one or two painful challenges.

In the end, because of the strange remarks, such as the file names had to be all in Japanese (even the page numbers), and the printing lines that couldn't be seen with the naked eye, I had to quickly change the printing company.

The new printing company proceeded relatively smoothly. They didn't require merging the images into the template, they didn't ask for photoshop file format, and there were no special limitations when uploading files.-ㅈ-

Thinking about it now still makes me so angry...

Despite the frustration,

I managed to prepare for the event with the help of some kind people.

I have been preparing the things I need to bring with me during the event and organizing things I need to know for the trip.

On the big day of May,

on the day of my trip, I arrived at the airport early in the day and planned to stay there.

This picture was taken because the scenery was so beautiful while I was on my way to Busan passing through Shin-gyeongju Station.

The reason why it is necessary to arrive at the airport two hours before the flight when traveling abroad.

On that day, Busan airport was really crowded. We arrived 2 and a half hours early, so we had some time to spare.

Board the plane with a heavy heart! Farewell Korea. I have left the land I've been treading on for so long.

The first photo taken upon arriving in Japan. The two-story train is not available in Korea... I had to take a train from Narita Airport to Tokyo.

The vending machines were really plentiful and there were a lot of drinks I didn't know about XD.

Interestingly, if you look closely, there are some things similar to what's in Korea haha

The architectural style was very different from that in Korea.

The pointed roof was due to the heavy snow in winter.

The design was made to easily remove the snow

The scenery was really beautiful.

Even without applying any filter effects, the photos turned out beautiful. One difference from our country is that each house was closely surrounded by a forest of trees. In rural areas of Korea, houses are usually built by clearing away trees, but here it was not the case.

I checked into the hotel that I had reserved and went to Shibuya for the first meal of my first day.

It was really crowded.

It was really crowded... it was enough to make me dizzy.

The first meal in Japan was ramen!

I wanted to try a lot of ramen and sushi in Japan XD.

The one I ordered was the basic vegetable ramen at this restaurant.

The broth was made with chicken and it was very delicious.

The price was around 1160 yen for a set with added gyosa (dumplings), which I remember was around 8 to 10 dollars.

I visited the 'Mandarake' in Shibuya for dinner. It was a bookstore located in a deep basement on the 6th floor and the scale was really huge! My mouth was wide open.

There were a huge number of NSFW doujinshi

My friends had something to see here and I went with them, but compared to the scale, there were relatively few furry books because the target audience was not so big 8

So, the first day in Japan passed by and as soon as we returned to the hotel, we were exhausted and went to sleep right away XD.

The place we went to the next day was the 'Asakusa' shrine.

Again, there were many tourists there.

The atmosphere at the market was great! XD

There was also a famous bakery where everyone was lined up to eat.

The sunlight felt stronger in Japan compared to South Korea... There was a beautiful garden with well-maintained landscapes. We even saw a foreign couple who looked like they were gay (it was nice)

I tried yakisoba too, and to be honest, the taste was just okay. Nothing special, but it was still edibleXDXD

We moved again. The building of a famous beer company...

There were many desserts as well.

Although there were many events, we couldn't take photos of all of them.

On the second day, after finishing our adventure, the Tokyo Tower came into view on our way back!

We decided to go and see it.

The scenery was so beautiful on the way there, oh my.

Thinking of Japanese animation.

There's a drinking festival going on.

At this time, one more person from our group decided to join us, so we only had a little bit to drink.

It's been a while since I had a drink and it tasted good.

I wanted to go up the Tokyo Tower, but I didn't have time to meet with my friends and the admission fee was a bit expensive, so I gave up. I wanted to go up there though...

The Day of the Final Battle.

We took the monorail train to the venue.

On the way, I thought the city was really beautiful.

The sun was strong, the air was good, and the scenery was impressive.

It was interesting that there were not many people on the street except for lunch time.

It's amazing that Tokyo has twice the population of Seoul.

Participants of the booth should have arrived earlier to wait.

Taking pictures inside the building is prohibited, so only the outside is shot.

The number of this Kemoket booth was 600.

I set it up while shaking with fear XD.

I think I was too nervous because it was my first time.

After looking at other booths, I realized that we had many shortcomings.

The sales performance was okay, feeling like we sold enough.

My husband, a friend, and I sold our books, but there were some left over so we made an agreement to sell the rest digitally.

Thanks to @rnk_2341 who helped with the translation, the event went smoothly.

The most difficult part was finding a place to stand, which was less than we expected.

The volume of the books arrived was too big and the space was cramped.

I had to take the books out of the boxes and get rid of the remaining boxes, but it was too narrow and I remember struggling.

The customers started to line up and I had to somehow quickly organize the boxes and make space for them.

I was sweating profusely due to the massive crowd and my hands were busy serving customers.

I am deeply grateful to those who purchased my book. I wondered if my book was worth the price, and if I had set a too high price. (I apologize for the high price as it was due to the unexpected cost of printing..lol Thank you for your support.8ㅈ8)

I was moved to tears because some of the supporters visited the booth and gave gifts.

I should have properly greeted them, but I failed to do so, which is what I regret the most..
I love you guys <3<3

I felt overwhelmed after the Kemoket event was over and saw the evening scenery.

Time passed by faster than I thought.

When I came to my senses, the event was already over and I was exhausted and lying in a corner lol.

It wasn't until after having dinner with the members that I finally realized the event was over.

The next day after the event, we went to a exhibition called "Team Lab Planet."

It was raining a lot.

People were more crowded than I thought,

and I thought I would freeze to death while waiting outside.

There was a strange place at the entrance where visitors had to wash their feet before entering.

Real water

In the next room...

A space connected by mirrors and LED lights (Wow!)

I suggested going there, but it was even better seeing it in person.

The Team Lab Planet is definitely a place worth visiting if you go to Tokyo. It was a really interesting and amazing exhibition.

Finished our schedule like that.

The most memorable meal I had before leaving Japan was Ichinran Ramen.

It was truly the best ramen I have ever had.

And so, the next day, we packed our bags and left Japan.

I will come back again someday. Goodbye

Your trip this time is really smooth, I also want to go to Japan, there are many doujinshi, and I also think that Japanese culture is very open, it is a place where we special groups can go, and I feel that there The scenery is also good, because I am in China, China can not buy doujinshi that adults can watch, but my future ideal is to go to Japan to play, and then buy some doujinshi. Also, I want to ask if you can speak Japanese? Will there be language barriers in Japan?

21CenturyRaccoon

I can't speak japanese at all lol. i had a good translator friend in that timeXD Thanks for lovely comment for me.
