Wonderful video as always! Could a reason that the yield is skewed in favor of the Benzoic Acid be due to the fact that the reagent was already partially oxidized?

That is a good suggestion. However, in my opinion, I would say not really. The amount of benzoic acid in the benzaldehyde, especially after washing it, should be super low. I've washed and then distilled benzaldehyde before and there isn't much benzaldehyde left behind.

With the beaker specifically? I think he was just using it to keep himself hydrated while working. :)
