Dear patrons!

The quest to tame Unreal Engine has begun... once more.
This month, we indulged in buying a couple of asset packs to draw inspiration from, change some textures, timings...etc
More importantly, the goal was to focus more on experimenting with the rendering side of things, which has been a long journey, to say the least. 😅
After many days and sometimes nights experimenting with the alpha channel (which doesn't include some of the post-processing like the bloom),
which has been our main culprit, alongside color management and anti-aliasing, we think we're pretty much as close as we're going to get it.
We're pretty satisfied with the results now and the workflow is, for the most part, in place.
We made some blueprints (very simplified coding available as nodes in a UI) to facilitate the workflow
from creating the meshes in Blender, the textures in Substance Designer and/or Photoshop, creating the Niagara particle effects in Unreal Engine,
to rendering the image Sequences, importing them into After Effects and finally rendering it with Media Encoder... 😴
Still some subtleties to figure out, namely how to easily swap colours, batch rendering from the Blueprints in Unreal, but we're getting there!
You'll notice that we did not yet create different colours for many of these new assets in this release.

Template Line - Piercing

What we had in mind for those were a kind of a "psychic lance" to be displayed above the targeted token, in a cinematic fashion, like shown in the video included in this post.
The macro we used will be posted in our Discord in the next couple of days, if someone is interested. 🙂

New "cast" animations, impacts and muzzle-flash

A front view and side view for these casting animations, some impacts and muzzle-flash.




Map is created with texture assets from "Forgotten Adventures"

Template Lines of Ice and Lava

Ranges of 15ft, 30ft and 60ft.
We could render the splashes separately if needed, so that the lava is under the token and the splashes above.
Let us know if you'd like us to include them.

Requests

The wind-up for the ice breath weapon as a 360° "cast" animation was requested, as well as the individual shapes from "cast-shapes".

latest release has an error in the manifest file... so it won't install. Unexpected token '<',

Yes our dropbox links are down, that's why we updated the Master Post. The only way to install our module until these links are back up is to download the "Complete Collection" zip and drag the "jb2a_patreon" folder in your FoundryVTTData/modules folder, and restart your server.

am using ur assets for fantasy ground is there anyway i can just download the assets ?

Yes, you can download the "Complete Collection" zip file. Our assets are in the "Library" folder inside the "jb2a_patreon" folder. You won't need the rest of the files like the module.json, the "scripts", "packs" and "artwork" folders (which are a combined filesize of 2.8MB in filesize by the way :D )
