Hi guys!

So I wanted to have a quick chat about the STLs. I've been aiming to improve their availability for a while, but new videos and catching up with STL releases were my top priority because I really wanted to deliver for you guys, especially during/after my medical setbacks.

As you probably know, I provide 'catchup' for the STLs that Fabio and I create for the system through throwbacks - so you guys could vote for the pack that you wanted the most.

I wanted the throwbacks to give new patrons a chance to catch up on all the exclusive content they've missed, while also continuing to thank veteran patrons.

From what I've seen so far, new patrons typically choose the same popular packs repeatedly, while veteran patrons have been wanting access to certain packs sooner than this throwback system would allow.

Ideally I would have let people choose their throwbacks individually, but I couldn’t find a platform that would let me do that easily/affordably.

In other words, you all understandably want different things, so I've decided to go away, adapt, and re-evaluate how I'm running things.

The good news is, setting up the new plan I have for you guys was MUCH faster than I imagined, and the system is ready to go!

So, what does this new system look like?

After reading your comments, some have you have pointed out that you would gladly and sometimes prefer to have the power to just purchase the STLs whenever you need them. I didn't want them to turn into a product for non-patrons, but I do want to offer easier access, so I've decided to make them available on MMF (myminifactory), with discounts for patrons like you who have helped make them a reality.

So, ongoing there will be 3 ways to get the STLs:

  1. Pick the STLs up when they are released for £8 just by being a noble patron. The smaller release for questgivers is still there too. This is exactly how it works now. there's also the throwback still, more on that later.
  2. Stick around as a noble patron for three months, and receive a 50% discount code on MMF, making anything missed but desperately want only £16. The code will refresh after      every month, and I'll send it to you at the start of the month in a message on patreon.
  3. Finally, if there's a pack you want RIGHT NOW as a new patron, it can be accessed for the full price at £32.

We'll see how this goes, I'd love to hear your feedback, but please remember that the prices are set where they are for a reason - STLs take time and skills to create, and the consistent, generous support is how I pay Fabio to make them in the first place!

New discounts may pop up later, I'm just trying this out and seeing how you guys respond to it :)

The final thing to mention here is I'll be making throwbacks more static and predictable, therefore hopefully fairer, so you know exactly what's coming.

Instead of the poll, the throwbacks will be going in order starting from my first releases, so you always know what's coming next. I'll be starting this in March.

In the longer run once I've built up more releases (probably 2 years worth), I'll make it two throwback packs per month, and then reset them to the start once they catch up to my current releases. In theory this will lead to a fair and varied cycle of throwbacks for consistent patrons.

I'm hoping this is a nice combination of rewards for patrons (throwbacks, discount, cheapest price upfront) while still allowing brand new patrons to access exactly what they want :)

The first discount code will be going out shortly after this post, and the packs should be appearing shortly on the RP Archive MMF store page here.

Let me know what you guys think, I've tried my best here to balance the need to fund the STLs (and pay Fabio) with give you guys the most options and ways to get them :)

Matt, I think this is a very sound and fair change. Thanks for hearing us! It says a lot about a person when they react so reasonably to constructive criticism. Too often these days people dig their heels in and take suggestions as personal attacks. I look forward to supporting your endeavors for a good long time to come.

Kudos, I was originally a bit confused about how this affected the current system of monthly releases and monthly throwbacks, but from the comments I can see that the current system is unchanged and that the shop is just an additional way to get STLs if you cannot wait for it to pop up in the monthly throwback. I think that's a great solution for everyone, so good job!
