Post 2 of 8 for September: 90% of BD's gear is on the site.  Got DMM's application filled out.  I feel good about who I found for the 2nd manager of the store since we did a working interview yesterday.  Still working on the separation from ExtremeGear.  Website guys almost have the minimal viable product done.

TODAY'S EPISODE: This was a ton of work to test all these and we realized we never made a video about them!  So Bobby and I summarized it together when he visited last so you can learn in 17min what took us 2 years.

I'm looking forward to getting caught up on everything we have tested and filmed so I can jump on all the good tests requests people have sent in.

We tested a lot of twist bolts from http://bolt-products.com/Catalogue.htm and never made a video about it. No, they bend towards the direction of pull before twisting out of the glue. Most bolts do actually if using vynlester or epoxy. I wonder if polyester glue is where that gear fear came from and all these notches happen because technically the notch doesn't prevent it either if you pull on it with a massive hydraulic :).

I guess there's also the advantage of hiding the weld beneath the glue in the case of the Fixe glue ins, but nice to know I won't need to recess the 6mm twist bolts since it would be a pain to notch (either have to switch to a 8mm drill bit or drill a massively oversized notch).

I'm shocked that the glue doesn't stick better. Structural adhesives I'm familiar with offer primers or "adhesion promoters". Or plasma etching (surprisingly inexpensive in volume). Seems like this could be done ahead of time? Henkel and Finishing.com have some notes

It's funny everyone is worried about the glue coming out of the hole if it is dirty but I've only ever had the bolt detach from the glue haha. Lets worry about the right things. But even then it's at a force that's really high.
