Commander, in light of your recent request for a new armoured vehicle, please review the following blueprints.

The vehicle (particularly the non-amphibious front end) is still being designed, so expect to see further improvements and tweaks in the final version ready for deployment.

There have been some delays with development, but we expect this vehicle to be ready to commence production in your local digital manufacturing plant around August 10th-14th, subject to our final quality control checks.

Key features for your consideration:

  • Two different Front Hull configurations - WW2 DUKW with full amphibious capabilities, and Modern armoured cabin.
  • Three different Rear Hull configurations - Fully Armoured with top hatch, Open Topped, or Soft Top.
  • Optional main turret with choice of Cyclic Phase Blaster or 75mm Cannon.
  • Secondary turret with HMG or Reconnaissance Optical Array (still in development).
  • Rear cabin with seating for 12 fully equipped soldiers.
  • Designed and optimised for highly efficient production in the smallest Digital Factories.

Real World Note:  If you are looking at these renders thinking "It looks like a massive pain/would use lots of resin to print something that large", don't worry!

  • Unlike the majority of vehicle STL kits which were designed either for resin production or without any thought for the end-user, this vehicle has been optimised right from the start for efficient and easy production on a regular size SLA resin printer.
  • The Hull prints in three sections, fits together easily, and all components are pre supported.
  • We are currently on test print/revision 3, and there will be 1 or 2 more cycles of print and optimised before it's ready for release, to ensure Patrons have a very high quality and easy to use kit.
  • It's over 95% hollow with internal support bracing, so each tank only costs about £4/$6 to print (depending on your resin price, it's about 100ml of resin).

Thanks,

Team Anvil

I don't know if it's just me but the wheels just seem off. I don't if they are too small, but perhaps an 8x8 or even 6x6 with larger evenly spaced wheels configuration may look better, or if it's possible for half / fully tracked options?

Anonymous

Looks awesome, but if there's seating for troops, would we get sitting leg options?

That covered DUKW loadout looks amazing! I'm really surprised by just how good that looks.

"expect this vehicle to be ready to commence production in your local digital manufacturing plant around July 10th-14th" I presume this is a typo?

Sikander

How easy is it to swap in the multi-gun from the walker for the main armament? How about your other man-portable heavy weapons for the secondary? Any chance of further options, maybe as a separate purchase?

anvildigitalforge

Very easy to swap in a Light Mech Gun for the main turret in Blender, Secondary weapon similar but with some rescaling. Further options may appear in future but no immediate plans.

anvildigitalforge

The wheels are actually already scaled up a fair bit compared to the ratio on the real world DUKW vehicle. Modern APC's have larger wheels relative to the body. It is highly likely I will do an 8x8 in a more modern style in the future. Half track option for this kit will be available at some point, but not in this initial release. Fully tracked would be an entire new vehicle.

Looks great. It would be awesome to have an antigravity or “repulsor” option

Anonymous

is this going to be the entire august release?

To me it feels too wide for the wheel dia. - my head was seeing a BTR-80 styling.

anvildigitalforge

We are doing a concrete bunker which will mount the turret on top, but yes, this is it. A complex model like a tank (or the light mech we did back in January) takes at least as much design time, if not more, than a group of infantry/characters :)

Excited. Glad I joined your Patreon. Definitely providing products I want.

anvildigitalforge

I am hoping to add anti grav "wheels" as an option. Depends how much time I have once the main hull components are finished

I will admit that I am not really enthusiastic about this. Both because I am used to infantry parts from you guys, which is what I collect, and because I quite frankly think that others have done this a bit more interesting: For example, the awkwardly named "Tabletop Terrain" has created a huge set of interchangeable vehicle chassis and parts, so swapping the 8-wheeler for the track chassis and still making it a crane, a tank or a load hauler. I considered the mech in January to be an experiment for configuring stuff and the potential of selling something that requires more assembly. I had expected either this to go further with more variants of the mech or the configuration approach used for infantry. I had not expected a wheeled vehicle. Anyway, this is Patreon and it is still great value for the money. Plus, I am pretty sure I will gush about something that no one else understands next month or the one after. ;-)

anvildigitalforge

Appreciate the feedback. Honestly, sculpting a set of modular infantry parts every month gets really boring/repetitive for our design team! We are always going to be a mostly infantry/character focused project, but mixing it up a bit keeps it interesting for everyone and means we can keep learning and developing new concepts/ideas. If we only ever designed things no one has ever done before, we would run out of content pretty quickly.. :)

I am all for new ideas beyond infantry parts. Vehicles, robots, aliens, keep me coming! I love these models and they work very well, pre-supported models have ruined me lol. Whenever i have to make my own supports it get so dissapointed nowadays.

Looking forward to this!

I print my vehicles with an FDM printer, because...its easier lol. im assuming that even though this amazing vehicle is being optimized for sla printers that my fdm should still have no problems printing this. will it come in a solid version as well? maybe solid minus wheels ofcourse.

Anonymous

I hope this isnt too harsh feedback, but i find this pretty ugly. I see what vehicle it is inspired by, i see what it would proxy, but man this is an aesthetically challenged vehicle if i ever saw one.

Anonymous

I like the versatility of the actual model, different backs etc. but kinda bland. Something like even current gen like the Boxer is pretty cool.

I can enjoy this, could work for a PT47-A/B from Dust. Or be good for a Marine transport. Could also be a Chimera stand in. I like the model for sure. Of course if bored is a issue you could always opt for transports with legs such as a Prinzluther from Dust, but im partial to diesel punk walking tanks LOL

Ill admit the feedback towards this has been mixed, and if i have any criticism its that the wheels seem a little too small for what it is, That said, i thoroughly enjoy what you have done here, i already have made your mecha model to fit 15mm and im sure i can do the same for this, the way you design your models leaves enough room for even a novice like me to easily choose what parts and more importantly what size i make my models. ill admit i joined because i wished i got the drop troops stuff (huge titanfall fan) when it released and am happy for any infantry parts that release to kitbash together, that said you offer a service like no other and im happy to support you. so whether its vehicle or soldier everyone who works on these always applies the same quality and skill no matter what, and i can thoroughly respect that <3

anvildigitalforge

We are going to do a test print on our FDM to see how well it works. We are not supplying an FDM specific version. If you have a resin printer I strongly recommend using that for this kit.

anvildigitalforge

All feedback is welcome. It's very difficult, or even impossible, to design anything which 100% of over 1000 people will like!

Anonymous

I think this looks great, will there be options for props on the back for the amphibious mode?

Anonymous

I like it,will there be a hatch open piece? so I can stick a man pointing should I wish :)

Anonymous

glad to see all the feedback around this, its good you (everyone behind this patreon) is exploring new ideas and designs while keeping in touch with community response, just remember that while everyone is a patreon for different things, in the end we all are for the designs you produce, and they always carry the same quality

anvildigitalforge

Currently no. I might be able to make a small add on component if I have time but it's unlikely - It's already behind schedule as it is!

anvildigitalforge

Yep the cupola hatch is separate and fully poseable, and so are the rear top hatch and rear door :) I won't have time to make a specific crew member but a conversion with another model will be possible.
