The above model was printed using the Pre-supported files supplied, with the 31mm tall Medic for scale!
The build requires some patience to get an optimum result. We strongly recommend dry fitting the parts repeatedly before adding any glue.  Alternatively, assemble the parts digitally and add supports to your chosen pose.

The recommended build order/method is:

  • Glue one leg on, keeping the hips level and choosing your torso angle (it can be more upright or hunched over)
  • Glue the other leg on, getting both feet as flat to the cutting mat at possible OR if you are adventurous you can try a more dynamic pose.
  • If you are feeling REALLY adventurous we have supplied a file called Ogre_Legs_Reposeable which contains the legs with separate shells for the different parts - you can use Blender or a similar 3D modelling program to adjust the legs to any pose you like - you may wish to print the reposed legs and body as one model if you do this.
  •  The OGRE Mech has a left and right arm which are labelled "L" and "R".
  • Glue the left arm to the gun, lining up the hand with the armoured wrist plate.
  • Glue the left arm to the body, holding the right arm in place to ensure correct alignment.
  • Remove the Right arm and attached it with glue.
  • There is a choice of two Canopies, both of which can be assembled shut or partially raised. The canopy called "Open" has gaps at the side so even when fully shut, the pilots head is visible - paint it before you glue the canopy down!
The canopy called "Closed" has no gap when closed, so we recommend using this one if you are rescaling the mech to make it bigger or smaller, and do not want a visible pilot.

I find there are sometimes where SYNC definitely has some load issues, particularly on new releases, but I can usually wait a day or so and get the files then.

*thumps up* will there be other weapons oder equipment for the Ogre in the Future?

There isn't a male_GL variant or a female_DMR variant in the arms folder?

5.5 hours till I have a squad of 10...

Does mech suit have no supports?

anvildigitalforge

The Mech suit is supplied fully supported and test printed on a Photon. If you want to remove the supports, this can be done easily in most free cad programs and slicing programs.

That password...

I overthink trying to make random strings of numbers/letters so the general theme is "places I have been/like" :D

As there are no male/female variants for the GL and the DMR is it possible you could ‘add’ arms with no weapons to file structure? It’s a lot harder for us as Patreons to find other programs and/or learn additional skills to remove these digitally to facilitate alternative weapon options. I just don’t have the additional time or capacity right now to do this. I’m sure there are several ‘regiments’ arm sets that allow for this but again those would require purchases of pre-cast minis. They’re awesome minis and I love what you’ve been doing. I’d just like a little more flexibility in being able to print these to cover off ‘all’ possible options. Female drop trooper with a DMR for instance would look fantastic.

anvildigitalforge

Its highly likly we will add these options later (in a second month of drop troops, or when we work on the resin release) but for now we need to get on with next months stuff to ensure we can stay on schedule. We will keep your feedback in mind though for future months! :)

love these modles just woundering will they need scaleinng to size

anvildigitalforge

That depends what size you want them.. As supplied, the figures are approx 31mm tall to top of head and 28mm to eyeline.

Jon Letham

I would like to see alternate leg poses, soft field cap wearing heads and arms that support your other weapon options. When it comes to heavy weapons LMGs and Missile launchers would be great. Anything bigger can mount on the Battlesuit.

Just printed out a batch of these guys and the troops look awesome! Had a minor failure on the exhaust fans on the back of the mech, but I’m still working out the kinks with a new printer so I doubt your supports are to blame. Very happy overall!

The DT Landing Trooper folder is empty when using the individual files link in the post. Sorry if that's already been mentioned?

Joshua Kemp

Was there a drop troopers folder with an unsupported Ogre in it? I don't see one in any of my downloads.

anvildigitalforge

Quite possibly not. You can separate out any of the parts using the "split to shells" function which is present in quite a few different bits of cad software and slicers.
