safe injecting rooms (Patreon)

hey :-) just a quick update this time. here is the poster for 'international overdose awareness day' today, its also published on Overlands website. making a piece about this topic was what u ppl voted as the second option after the RAFFWU stuff i worked on last month. hope u like how it turned out 

i tried to make it a bit sassy / bratty / kinda playful, cos i dont think public facing resources that are stone-cold and super earnest necessarily resonate with everyday ppl who aren't that engaged, and i usually try to side step moralising at ppl (usually!!!). making *anything* is fucking embarrassing (try sending these updates out!!!!!!!), but when the tone of work is rly righteous then it feels even worse.
my friend Lucy Burnett gave me a bunch of pointers developing the graphic, including sending me some resources shes into, i rly like the spirit of this one:

i embedded a video of how the drawing was made if ppl are into that, hopefully it works, havent done that before. it shows how many different ideas end up getting churned thru before ya come to the final piece. when im playing around with layouts it doesn't feel quite as Benny Hill / maniacal as it looks in the video tho hahah. not sure if ppl are interested in process stuff behind drawings, happy to send more things like that if folks like.

i think it looks as if street poster printers Plakkit are gonna produce a bunch of copies as massive massive A0 prints and stick them up around melbourne streets which is great. hopefully some around north richmond / the cbd where they can piss off nimbys who always shit thier pants about injecting rooms!!!!!! Plakkit are legends they also printed a heap of old mate Nicky Minus' 'Save Preston Market' posters and stuck them up for nothing in support of that campaign. good eggs.
