Obviously right now I'm in the "move in as quickly as possible gogogogogogogogo" phase, partly because I need everything there to use any of it, and partly because I have a $300/mo. storage unit that has to be emptied out ASAP so I can cancel it before the billing cycle ends.
Fortunately that's moving at a very respectable clip, due to very good decisions Past Self made. Advice: Getting a storage unit, or have one already? Fill it with metro racks. Wire racks on wheels, 6' tall, adjustable shelves, about $90 (+$20 wheel kit) at Lowes, makes it possible to pull a couple hundred pounds of crap out of the way in five seconds. Put everything on those. Every single part of you will be glad you did it this way.
So I haven't been able to settle anything in place yet, particularly because of the internet situation, but I have a lot of the future mapped out already. You can see my new desk clearly in this vid, I have a number of solutions to problems already in mind, and in general I lay out The Plan.
*The internet: I don't think I mentioned this before, but this place has Seattle Office Syndrome almost as bad as it comes these days. Centurylink is excited to offer me 10/2 DSL, which is absolutely, positively useless. Comcast will give me 35/5 for like $80 a month. I've opted to have Wave attempt to bring in 55/10 (think that's the number) for a cool $109/mo., which would be $69.95 except I don't want to commit to a two year plan with massive ETFs before I know what they're actually capable of.
Basically, the internet situation Sucks Totally, and my fantasy is that income bumps up enough in the next few months that I'm able to commit $200/mo. to a serious, usable, grownup circuit.
