Edit: For serious professionals (architect, interior designer, etc.) please find attached a version of this floorplan for use in Duke Nukem 3D.

This is a fairly accurate (~95%) floorplan of the new place. It's a little misleading because the ceilings are so tall; the last pic shrinks them to 8' to give you a better idea of the scale.

To put a point on it: There's an uninterrupted ~40' line from the entryway to the window. I don't think I've ever commanded a space with a single dimension of that size; probably nothing larger than 15'. I've done everything in my life inside residential structures with lots of internal walls, and the whole time I've been starving for a chunk of square footage with zero internal baffles. This is pretty close.

Edit: I make these floorplans in an ancient copy of Rhinoceros 3D, which is sort of a lightweight (and slightly less irritating) AutoCAD clone. I know how to use ACAD but I find it tedious and overly dense, so I usually use Rhino for quick sketches like this.

Whenever I'm planning out a construction project, I model the space in 3D like this so I can experiment. One of the possible options for moving forward is to build a custom workbench along the wall in the office area (the room with the entryway; the other room is the studio area) and this floorplan is basically essential for finding out if that's practical and roughly how much material I need.

It's also useful if I'm buying furniture, so I can just make cubic volumes representing desks, cabinets, etc. and Lego them around.

I love that you made this, usually when I am sussing out a new space I will get some of my 5-to-an-inch graph paper and draw the space, then cut out little furniture shapes and play around.
