As someone who is very into 60’s fashion, the clothes and makeup in this show are so so good. Not only are they accurate, but like you said with the makeup, it adds to what Beth is going through in the episode

There’s something so sweet about every time Beth orders a Gibson, Alma’s drink, it’s usually when she’s missing her. Especially with her being at dinner hearing the singer with the piano, then cuts to her getting blackout. It’s both the thing that keeps her going and she clings to for comfort but the thing that hurts her. Beth and Alma’s relationship is so interesting and complex, it’s a shame the show is so short!! They are both damaged people who help and hurt each other but it’s kind of beautiful. Also, I like the parallel of Benny and Beltik because Benny treats Beth how she treated Beltik, sleep together then the other expects more but all they care about is getting back into chess. It’s an interesting flip on the situation. I do also think that Benny has serious feelings for Beth and she’s pushing him away because she knows if she lets him in, even if she wants to be with him, she’ll end up healthy and sober and she doesn’t want to be. I was so excited to see Jolene!!! They aged that actress up so well, I really don’t know how they made her look so young in the home!!!

Cleo definitely sabotaged Beth becaus she still has a crush on Benny and she was jealous. At least that's what I think lol.

Jolene!!!!! So good to see her again. I can't believe there's only one episode left; it has been so great to watch it along with all of you. I also loved the visual of the dance for the hands, I used to dance too so I loved that comparison. I don't know if there's a chosen show to replace this one yet, but if there's a poll I hope Fleabag is there because I'll vote for it even if it takes us months to get to it. The One tree hill fans gave me hope too XD

You know what… I think you are right!! I always saw them as friends but your comment has totally changed my mind. The way she guilt tripped Beth about not coming to drink the night before her big game was weird!!! Plus, the blunt way she brings up Beth and Benny sleeping together… suspicious. I always just found it odd and thought it might be trying to show a cultural difference between French/American thinking around sex maybe but I now think it was jealousy.
