I have been spinning this album on vinyl nonstop, I’m so obsessed. It’s definitely her best since NFR for me. I feel like there’s a piece of all of her albums in this project, and it’s just so “Lana Del Rey” in all the best ways. So happy you enjoyed it!

Also the “lanita” thing is more of a joke between her and us latino fans. She has a huge Latin/Hispanic fanbase and we started calling her Lanita a while ago lolll

Lucille

Wow this was so good! I def need the vinyl as well!

I’m so glad you decided to do this one. This album really feels incredibly personal for her in a different way than she’s put out there before. It’s just very raw and honest. It’s not what I was expecting this album to be like when I first heard the title track and I’m blown away by it honestly as a fan since Born to Die. She really had me all in my feelings with this one. Paris, Texas was my favorite. The way she sings on that song is so gorgeous and delicate. But there are so many poignant and beautiful songs on this album. And I love all the little references. The more I listen the more impressed I am with it.

love that you’re still giving this album a chance despite how you’ve felt about previous works loool. as someone who was OBSESSED with lana’s entire discography years ago, (seriously, her and BTS are the only two artists i say this about out of pure attachment) i still religiously listen and save all her newer works even if i know her sound has drifted a bit from what i initially liked. i hadn’t gotten a chance to really look at the lyrics until now and - well, you said it best - wow.

Not sure if this is something you care about but 2 artists that I gravitate to, NF and Daniel Caesar put out albums tonight that might be a good listen for you, on or off camera!

i got the indie green vinyl the day i listened to the album it’s sooo good. first time checking her music out i’ll have to dig through her discography now!

Meg

also margaret is jacks wife if you haven’t read that yet! super cute song

In AW I think the lines at the beginning about her childhood may be referring to when she started getting male attention/started dealing with puberty (that’s a pretty common experience I think). It’s also when your mother starts making sure you know all the things

Krissy

you’re doing wrong to cause grown men to stare at you. So she stopped doing cartwheels because it garnered that attention. And she resents her mother for making her feel like it was her fault.

Krissy

I’m debating on which variant to get! I’m torn between pink and green!

Meg

the green is really cool but be warned about the Amazon exclusive it’s actually purple! not a baby pink like the mock up looks. it’s still very pretty though

beth

holy crap.. interpreting it like this has officially put aw at one of my tops. that hits hard lol

cass

i have the hot pink target vinyl and it’s beautiful, i love it

I think this is Lana's magnum opus. The way that the structure of the album moves from dark to light, both sonically and lyrically, mimics the titular Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd. The listening process moves you from the deep and the dark into the carefree, "fresh out of fucks forever" energy that she's known for. Both the heavy darkness and the tongue-in-cheek levity are equally, undeniable, Lana- and I agree and appreciate that you describe her presence in this album as undeniable. I think it encapsulates her depth and her power as an artist. Not sure if you'll see this, but I'm happy you liked it!
