Megan 🇵🇸

I literally just got out of work thanks for the blessing 🙏 you dropped this 👑

Ruth

Guess I’m staying up for another hour and 43 minutes 😂 This is one of the best series finales I have ever watched! Masterfully written and truly a favorite of mine 💜💜💜 Zuku’s redemption arc, Azula’s descent into madness, the amazing artwork in the final battle between Aang and the fire lord…. Chefs kiss!

ariel

well i know what i'm watching after ted lasso tonight

beth

a day early! you continue to keep me on my toes lmfao (in the best possible way). the finale always gives me this warm, fuzzy, yet bittersweet feeling. i could rewatch it over and over (‘: THANK YOU for letting us join this journey with you! so stoked for what’s to come

eve🐱🏀

perfect timing, just got off work!! before i watch, just wanna thank again for working so dang hard michael. watching this show with you has been a blast. can't wait for monday!

Olivia Sophia

Thankyou for uploading today as I'm sick and really appreciate the mood booster! It was an honour watching you on this journey.

Olivia Sophia

This finale was just amazing. The fight between Zuko and Azula was just beautifully coreographed and watching her break down is just heart breaking, as she is just a 14 year old who grew up in an abusive household and I was already broken by the Zuko Iroh reunion

Olivia Sophia

One of my favourite things throughout the series are the parallels between Zuko's and Aang's life. One of the absolute best details in my opinion are the scars of them. Aang's on his back, his main conflict was running away from his destiny and from the Guru we know that the earth chakra at the bottom of the spine deals with survival and is blocked by fear and he got it by letting go of his attachment to Katara and trying to safe the world. Zuko's is on his front, his main conflict was running towards his destiny as he was desprate to get home. It's where the fire chakra sits, that deals with willpower and is blocked by shame and he got it by leting go of his attachment to the world and trying to safe Katara. And of course they got them both from Azula

Sandi

I just love how Suki is Sokka's boomerang because no matter how many times they get separated she always returns.

Sandi

Really broke my heart seeing all the nations represented at the end but no air nomads. Sozin really left a huge scar on the world. It's healing but a scar is a scar.

Mariana

It was a delight to rewatch this along with you!! I loved seeing you fall in love with this show! What happens with Zuko's mom is actually in a sequel through comics. No show though.

beth

that’s so cute lol i never thought of it that way!

Anonymous

watching this with you has been such an absolute joy :) thank you for bringing us along on the journey <3

Olivia Sophia

Btw, are you planning on watching the life action movie? I'm sure everyone here would enjoy seeing you suffer lol And also the sequel Legend of Korra?

Olivia Sophia

My best friend and I made a drinking game out of it, the first time she watched it.... bad idea

Nathan

Check out the Comic called The Search, It tells Zuko's Mothers story and is awesome!

Mikayla McCord

the comics continue the story right where the show leaves off (literally… the first panel is aang and katara kissing!) and they are really cool! I’d love to see them made into a show someday but I’m not hopeful, apparently it took like months and months to make just one season of this show, lots of hard work. There is a live action netflix series coming soonish?? They’ve casted it at least. And an animated series of the gang as adults in production but not coming out until like 2025. But don’t want the live action movie it sucks lol (unless you wanna laugh and ignore how it ruins the story)

cass

can’t wait to watch this later!

Okay so I know I'm gonna sounds like a broken record LOL. But I'm so confused with myself. I'll explain why. So I remember the part where Zuko is training Ang at the beginning of Part One and being confused bc I was like 'wait when did this happen?' And then I remember the last two minutes of the final part where everyone is celebrating, Katara & Ang kissing. But didn't remember any of the other scenes in these last four episodes. Like ... did I block this show out for some reason? Or not pay attention when I watched. I'm soooo confused with my younger self. I wish I could go back and smack myself to pay attention and watch LOL. But anyways, I loved rewatching (season 1) and watching this show with you!! I enjoyed hearing your thoughts and also myself getting lost in the show. Definitely a top-tier animated series. With the storytelling, animation, and character development. So well done. I'm glad people wanted you to react this because if gave me the opportunity to rewatch and finally watch what I didn't see (which apparently was a lot more than I thought ... I'm still so confused.) Thanks and can't wait to see what's next! :)

Jules

I'm sad this journey has ended. It's been amazing watching it along with you. I have seen this show at least 10 times but watching it through your perspective, as someone who's never seen it, has been awesome and heartwarming. I still cry through the finale episodes, it's just so full circle and honestly a really great ending to the show. I really hope you watch The Legend of Korra soon, it's just as badass.

Yessy

It's been such a great journey re-visiting this world with you! This show gets me every time. One of my all time favorites.

Andreja Vladic

I don’t know if you already mentioned it but will you watch Legend of Korra?

Thnak you so much. Because of you i rewatch what is to me a perfect show. They gave us the perfect ending with out being forced or seeming fan service because the story was perfectly written. I could se it a 100 time more but what a joy to cry with all of you watching the avatar.

this episode proves why aang is my favorite fictional character of all time (and why i have a shelf filled with aang figures and merch). aang stuck to his ideals and principals; despite having everyone (even his past lives) tell him that he had to put them aside for the greater good, he was unwilling to accept that there were no other options. aang is the last of the air nomads, and seeing his resolve to continue to live by the teachings of his people was so powerful. he was incorruptible, which is why he was able to withstand ozai's energy. AND he mastered the avatar state in this episode! that brief glow after he took away ozai's bending, when he put out the forest fires, is what it looks like when the avatar masters the avatar state! this also proves why zuko is often looked at as the greatest redemption arc on screen. so often, redemption arcs are half baked, never fully realized, because the characters never have to truly face what they'd done (or they die after committing one good deed, which imo is NOT a true redemption arc). zuko was put into a position where he was forced to see what the firenation had done to the other nations (living amongst earth kingdom refugees) and he had to make ammends with those he had wronged. and i love how his redemption wasn't linear; we saw him making progress in season 2, just for him to stumble yet again in the season 2 finale. we got to see him actually GET what he'd thought he'd wanted for so long, just for him to realize he was wrong. it made his ending that much more satisfying! the shot of katara and aang at the end always brings me to tears, along with the score (called avatars love) in the background. such a beautiful scene! ALSO ALSO the only show that comes close (and it is SUPER CLOSE like avatar wins by a smidge for me) to giving me the same feelings is fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood. have you seen it? if not, i really hope you can react to it someday!

Cat

completly onboard with him watching fullmetal alchemist: brotherhood

I absolutely love the music choice for the fight between Zuko and Azula. They could have chosen something fast paced and action-oriented but the score really highlights how tragic the fight is. This is not a very basic fight between good and evil, it's two siblings who have been turned against each other by generations of cruelty. Azula did horrible things, but she is very young and is modeling her father who taught her that fear and power are the most important things in life. Imagine how different she would have been if Iroh had raised her instead. I really appreciate that, while she is a villain and needs to be held accountable for all of the harm she's caused, she's still acknowledged as a child of generational trauma and her defeat isn't something to be celebrated.

Put off watching this for a week bc i didnt want it to end!! Thanks for watching this man, its great to see someone nerd out at this masterpiece of a show the same way I do every time I re-watch it. So much to be said about the incredible writing and acting in this series and it warms my heart to see you and everyone in the comments appreciating that. One of my fav fav fav shows, so glad you enjoyed it!

This is my first time watching (finishing) Avatar. I’ve known about it all my life, but didn’t consistently have the Nickelodeon channel at home so I wasn’t able to watch it when I was young. I have planned multiple times to watch it now as an adult but never really found the time or the right mood. I guess this is why. 🥺 Life rly said “You’re gonna watch it with a bunch of internet people you haven’t met” But I wouldn’t have it any other way!! Thank you Bev and everyone for this Avatar journey!! This is one of the best shows ever 😭 Can’t wait to rewatch it again and again

Eefa

Your joy was palpable here, I am so glad this small internet army managed to convince you to watch this silly little animated show and you really found something new to fall in love with, just like we did! Zutara and Taang4ever of course but I still tear up at that Kataang kiss at the end, just the way the music swells is perfect and it is such a beautiful shot, even if the kiss doesn't feel right and it's not the conclusion alot of us wanted. I can't wait to see that Toph tattoo when you get it stamped in, I'm going for one myself when I can find a new job! Fun tidbits for you, Dante Basco (Zuko's VA) and Mako (Iroh's original VA) actually worked together on many projects before Avatar where, as Dante describes, Mako played that masculine role model figure to him so many times he was really his irl Uncle Iroh. The comics released after S3 are actually comprised of the stories the writing team wanted to tell in, what would've been S4. There is a slate of upcoming animated movies that are coming in to kind of remedy this scrapped season,- one a solo Zuko movie, one a Kyoshi movie, and one being an adult Gaang movie. There is also a Korra comic, if you're interested once you get there! Also, much of the Avatar team was sure Zutara was going to be endgame, which is why there are many small bits of tension in the show between them even if they never ended up going through with it for the finale because of (the showrunners, Bryke) Mike and Bryan. Dante Basco himself is the self appointed king of the Zutara nation, he's played the love interest of Katara's VA in other roles and they have a great relationship so he's super comfortable answering fan questions, unlike Bryke who famously have bullied fans at conventions for asking Zutara related questions at panels. Anyways, I wonder why Bryke decided to leave the Netflix live action team, a team built of Airbender megafans and people who actually cared about casting folks of the right ethnicity instead of whatever M Night did for the movie! Maybe they realised the kid playing Aang looked way too young to be kissing the Katara actress and the writing staff came up with a way to solve it that they weren't too fond of...!

It's truly one of the best shows of all time for all the reasons that everyone has already discussed and so much more. There's constantly different and interesting dynamics and themesto discuss from this show. Its perfect for all ages and teaches extremely important and consistently relevant lessons for every person in the world. Thank you so much for your reaction! Time to catch up with Korra for the last season! I've missed watching a show alongside you! <3
