heather

yayyy

Robyn Epstein

I don't think the cast was sober for a minute of filming this lol they had so much fun

Kerry

omgggg comfort movie!!!! as someone said earlier everyone was drunk the entire time they filmed this movie and the behind the scenes are just pure gold

Kerry

also abba my love <33333

Yukari

Just to reveal how old I am, I was learning English when Dancing Queen came out and I used to sing my heart out! Abba helped me with English pronunciation! It’s been years since I’ve watched Mama Mia so I look forward to it!

Robyn Epstein

Also when my mom saw this in theaters she couldn't stop laughing when Pierce Brosnan started singing lmao he's so bad

Mads

patiently waiting for you to recognize Julie Walters, who plays Molly Weasley, plays Rosie

Yukari

It’s so fun to hear all these Abba songs! I actually have Abba Gold and they are all there! At least the first half of the movie.

Kerry

slipping through my fingers is my mom and i's fave song, whenever we watch this movie together we always cry during that scene, it's so painfully accurate for anyone lucky enough to be close to their mom

Dani May

So excited for this!!

Maya

"check out only Harry. He's swinging em hips! Sam is stiff AF and Bill..got some movement there" Had to watch that part three times because I was crying laughing.

Dani May

will you do a reaction for the tv show daisy jones and the six? It is a historical fiction book made to tv show loosely based off fleet wood Mac. The show just came out with an accompanying album called Aurora. They are even going on tour. It is worth the watch!

Ruth

My dad would always play abba in the car on road trips so this movie brings me huge nostalgia and all around happiness 🥰 Next musical poll should include the sequel 😉

Nicolett

You reacting to musicals is something I could absolutely never get tired of

Olive7

I learned all these songs when I was in middle school through my older brother and it brings nostalgia for me. We grew up with our mom, and now I have my own two daughters so that song, Slipping Through My Fingers, gets me every timeeee. Thank you for the reaction. I can’t wait for you to watch RENT!

Ivy Maureen

Ugh the second one was just as good as the first imo. Love your reactions to musicals!

emmie jeans

i loveee abba, they were my mums fav artist growing up and were massive in australia!! they hold a special place in my heart <3

Iva Morris

Can't wait for you to watch Mamma Mia 2 that tells Donna's backstory with the three guys

Anonymous

Got to watch number 2 now!

Anonymous

i’m so glad you loved my favorite comfort movie!! just a few fun facts because i’m obsessed with ABBA and this movie! ABBA is a group of two couples(at the time): Agnetha with Bjorn and Anni-Frid with Benny! For the most part the songs were written by the guys and the girls did the singing! Benny and Bjorn helped out with the creation of the musical and Benny actually was the guy playing the piano in the boat during Dancing Queen! Also the random group of people always watching them is because this musical was written like an ancient greek comedy and they were supposed to act as the chorus

emmie jeans

ok but as fun as this movie is, you have to listen to the original ABBA songs, as they are just so beautiful. The original Chiquitita is gorgeous.

Mikayla McCord

unfortunately the abba version of does your mother know is sung by a man and is a littleeeee creepy 🫣 but the mamma mia version is fun!! also, all of these people can sing well, especially meryl and amanda, I just think they made it seem more unfiltered and natural to fit the movie better. but yeah pierce brosnan doesn’t have the best voice lolololol

cass

My favorite musical everrrr omg! This is one of my go to comfort movies. Just good vibes all the way through.

Bailey Fay

I don’t know if you’ve heard but there’s a new show out called Daisy Jones and The Six and I think you’d love it. It’s about the rise and the fall of a 70’s rock band. I highly recommend reacting to it or even just watching it in your own time

Maralys Cedeno

Rosie, Donna's friend (the author) is Ron's mom in Harry Potter!

Bailey Fay

I was really scared this show was going to let me down because i’m such a big fan of the book but it was truly incredible. I was in disbelief from just how good it turned out.

Lorena Oliveira

This movie is such a pleasure lol no guilt here AT ALL! I just had lovely memories from watching this with my mom as a child

Jordan S

This musical is so fun and such a good time I'm so glad you enjoyed it! The sequel is still fun but nothing can live up to the original!

Theresa Tucker

Mama Mia 2 next????? I recall an interview with Pierce Brosnan at the time this movie came out in which he expressed concern to the producers regarding his singing abilities. He didn't want it to take away from the movie so he asked for a vocal stand-in but the producer insisted he sing himself. I have mad respect for someone who knows they are not good at something but go for it anyway! I've seen the Broadway production of this twice and had a ball dancing and singing along in the audience lol. 😊

Ashlee

you HAVE to react to Mamma Mia 2!!!! beyond amazing!

Anonymous

Loveddddd that you did this movie!!! Just a side note! You should totally listen to the end credits where Amanda sings Thank You for the Music song! It’s so good and shows off her register!

Megan Blum

you HAVE to do the sequel. It's about Donna when she meets them for the first time !!

cass

Also, Amanda is great in Les Mis

Tessa Noble

One of my comfort movies! ❤️

Vanessa

omg so much content to catch up on lately, mamma mia is so fun will have to come back to watch its been ages since ive seen it edit: i sure hope varyse doesnt conjugate the weeding i think you mean officiate

sett4r

yeah all mamma mia songs came from ABBAs already released songs lol, you should give em a listen ;)

Hedda Dybvadskog

I love Mamma Mia, my whole family does. I watched a live stage version in Norway like a year after the movie came out, I was like 8 and fell in love. I have watched the movie countless times and my mum, sister and I watched it on stage in London a few years ago too. The musical itself was great but the crowd was AMAZING. The musical was made from pre-existing Abba songs and really celebrates the band.

Hedda Dybvadskog

Idk if I fully agree Pierce Brosnan is the most famous... Maybe to men? Because of being James Bond? But Colin Firth (Harry) is British rom-com royalty (Bridget Jones' diary, Love actually), he is in the 1995 Pride and Prejudice movie and he is an Oscar winner (the King's speech)!! Stellan Skarsgård (Sam), like abba, is Swedish and the patriarch of the Skarsgård family which includes Alexander (true blood, big little lies), Gustaf (Vikings, Westworld) and Bill (the clown in IT)- it might be because I am Scandinavian but him and his sons are quite famous.

Hedda Dybvadskog

Abba actually won the eurovision song contest in 1974 with waterloo, the song in the credits and it is typically always preformed as an extra song at the end of the live musicals!

Magdalena Eriksson

please please look a mama Mia 2 also 😍😍😂😂

florence

A must watch meryl Streep movie is the devils wears Prada, also starring Anne Hathaway and Emily blunt and other iconic stars! Defo a must watch in the future 👀😊

Michael Beveraggi

That’s so thoughtful of you Hafsa! Thank you so much for being so considerate and thinking of me ♥️♥️ I promise I’m making time for myself! Sending you the biggest hug 🫂

Michael Beveraggi

How young you are Yukari! That’s so cool to hear that they helped you with English pronunciation! It’s so interesting to me when music/media helps people learn parts of a language

Xene

YAAAAAS ABBA!! YASSS MAMMA MIAAA!! AND YESSS TO MAMMA MIA 2!!! JUST YAAASSSS!!!

Jessica Alberty

Homie you need to see the devil wears prada

Maleen

You NEED to watch Mamma Mia 2 (Here We Go Again) !!! Lily James plays young Donna, and Cher is also in it!! and its just great as well!!!

Meagan

I really love these musical/movie reactions, it feels like I'm hanging out and watching movies with a friend :')

Aninha Silva

Is it too early for me to start campaigning for Falsettos as a musical for pride month??

Yukari

I’m actually listening and singing to Waterloo and Dancing Queen along with Winner Takes It All in between Smoke Sprite, On The Street! I had forgotten how fun Abba is so thank you! I’m remembering my flight from Okinawa to LA with my heavy cassette player and listening to my mixed tape of Abba, Bay City Rollers, and Japanese pop. 💜

Anonymous

simply the fact that they have all admitted to being slightly drunk whilst they filmed this makes it even better somehow

BtsOT79798

now that you've watched mama mia i'm sure you're itching to watch Mama Mia two!

ke

Loved this! I actually prefer the second one .. maybe it’s just my love for donna’s character and lily james

Talía Caraveo

Mamma mia is such a great movie!! I've watched it a few times and I keep enjoying it so much! I'm so glad you liked it!! Also ABBA is awesome! Their songs are amazing, and no matter how much time passes they're just classics! So I'm glad to hear you would be listening to those, you would not regret it! Had so much fun rewatching with you, thank you! :)

Mariana

OMG I forgot to check out episodes 4, 5, and 6! Thanks for the reminder XD

Bangtan is life

Man this is one of my top favorite musicals , watched it so many times !! ❤️ I’m not necessarily a big fan of abba but I do love these two movies, although the second one has some continuity errors that kinda doesn’t fit with the first one, so if you’re gonna watch that one to just keep that in mind 😅

Mariana

Bill's face while looking at Sam (Pierce Brosnan) singing was my first reaction to his singing in theaters, sorry but I just can't with his singing. Amanda on the other hand has such a beautiful voice!! Another favorite of mine starring Meryl Streep is The Devil Wears Prada, I recommend it as another comfort watch. (It also has Stanley Tucci, who plays Caesar Flickerman in The Hunger Games)

Angelique Juliette

If you want some suggestions on other iconic Mel Steep performances, please watch The Devil Wears Prada, August Osage County, Doubt, and The Hours. You will not be disappointed!

ariel

my patreon didn't notify me at all that you posted yesterday and im just now seeing this 😭 cant wait to watch this and hunger games on my day off tomorrow

Emma Rustlie

I remember getting this movie on DVD in my Easter basket when I was 5 years old. I watched it literally every single time I went to my dads house and I was obsessed 🤩 the first musical I ever saw that wasn’t Disney and it sparked my forever love of theatre (and 70’s music)

Ellie

Watching this with you was a treat! I used to watch it every time I was feeling down. Also Colin Firth sounds as soft as he looks <3

Katie Taylor

Now you need to watch the 2nd movie! It shows all the backstory! Loved this reaction 🤍🫶🏻

ipsssen

grew up with my mom playing ABBA around the house and the songs still hit the same to this day ugh

ipsssen

that and Fernando always made me cry! and the way old friends do!

Anonymous

I'm so sad you didn't listen to Amanda Seyfried sing 'Thank you for the Music' in the end credits, it is one of my faves. This was an amazing reaction though, you had me crying. And omg you're missing out on so many good Meryl movies. My favorites 'The Bridges of Madison County, The River Wild, Death becomes her (which has Goldie Hawn and Bruce Willis), Into the Woods (another musical she has been in with a star studded cast), The Devil Wears Prada(with Anne Hathawy who is also in Les Mis,and Stanley Tucci who I'm shocked and appalled you don't know, he is in The Hunger Games franchise), Julie & Julia, Evening(her daughter actually plays her younger self), and Silkwood (which also stars Kurt Russell and Cher). This was a lot lol! I will end it here. Thank you for all the content you've been putting out lately. It feels like watching movies with a friend ❤️

SeaLights

One of my only claim to fames in life and its very tenuous even then is that one of my friends is a relative of the girl who played Lisa (one of Sophie's friends) Anyway I love this film. Abba has a dear place in my heart too cause of family so its a winner of a film.

Liam Mcfarlane

One thing I’ll say about this movie is that everyone was clearly having an absolute blast when they made it. They all got to spend time on a Greek island singing Abba songs, like the greatest summer camp ever 😂

Sarah

This movie is one of the ones that got me interested in doing theatre myself!!! So much nostalgia❤️ And plz plz plzzzz watch Mamma Mia 2 Lily James is incredible in it and the first time I watched I cried like a baby at the end🤣

Giorgia M

Apparently they were all absolutely drunk out of their minds during the whole of filming 🖤 I love that lol

Dani May

This movie was everything, but watching the musical live altered my brain chemistry. I am pretty sure they are doing a 25th Anniversary North American tour 2023-2024 so keep your eyes out for tickets.. I don't think they are coming to Canada but hopefully you can get tickets. Abba is everything.

Emma Brilleslyper

I dont know if you ever realized that Rosie (cookbook author/member of the dynamos) is played by Julie Walters aka Molly Weasley!

Roslyn

I can't believe you don't know who Colin Firth is! He was the original Mr. Darcy in Pride and Prejudice, and the author of Bridget Jones's Diary (a modern remake of Pride and Prejudice) personally wanted him to play the Darcy character in the movie and it's a much watch comedy classic. You should add it to your list to watch sometime. He's been in so many movies that I loved. Love Actually is a Christmas classic for me. Also, Pierce Brosnan was making fun of himself for his bad singing in Cinderella when they had him singing horribly and making a joke out of it. Loved this reaction.

Fae

awww I love that movie! lay all your love on me (the song sky and sophie sing on the beach) was kinda my queer awakening when I was like 10 and saw it for the first time at summer camp lol also you should totally watch mamma mia 2 next! it's just as good

Jayde Ritchey

You've never seen The Devil Wears Prada?? (jokes lol) I love ABBA; they're just so campy yet earnest, and have a truly iconic discography. I really hope you ended up (or will end up) taking the time to give them a listen. I haven't seen this movie since it came out, and I forgot just how much fun it is!

Emily

My favorite movie! Please react to the second one!

Ida Lisby

I’ve never watched this movie before not being the biggest ABBA fan but it was sooooo fun and moving🥲 also Julie walters is mrs. Weasley in HP🤯

Susan Deans

Just coming back here 9 months later to re-watch after watching the competition (here in the UK) to cast the next Sophie and Sky in the West End. Still waiting for the sequel! And for Les Mis! I would literally pay you extra for these movies if it was possible Michael! Been waiting so long!!🙈

Lucie G
