"Did I ever tell you how I got the nickname the dragon of the west" is literally my favorite line of the show. My siblings hate it because I said it every time we got into argument lol

Wow ... I really not have watched as much as I thought I did of this show. I honestly only remembered the last episode. I guess I jumped around this show a lot more than I thought. So I'm glad I'm watching/rewatching it now. Great, great show.

Every season really builds on the last one. You are going to love season three. It is fantastic 💜💜💜💜💜

Kinda random, but whoever voices Mai has such a soothing voice. I could listen to her talk all day.

- "just hit the beach everytime you wanna lie to her" LMAO noooo - iroh asking zuko what he wants is such a powerful scene in the show, i think a lot of us can relate to zuko of feeling lost and under so much pressure - mai's name is pronounced like the month may - azula shot her lighting at aang before he could attack thats why he fell

You've mentioned a couple of times that the show manages to make blind jokes funny, and I think that's something that these writers do very well. The writers have a sort of inclusivity built into the narrative. Jokes about Tophs blindness almost always come from Toph and they are always on her side. They never put Toph down and they make a point that she is not weak or less capable than anyone else. They treat Toph as a whole person which, unfortunately, is so rare in media, especially in almost 20 year old media. I love this show because it's a fun story and characters. But more importantly it deals with real life and complex morality but at a level that is accessible to children. The writers seem to believe in children's ability to understand more than their often given credit for. It's refreshing. The head writer for this show, Aaron Ehaz, also created a more recent show for Netflix, The Dragon Prince. That is one of my favorites shows of all time for some of the same reasons. They do storytelling very well.

this is the first time i have seen someone talk about the dragon prince!! it is SO good! hope michael checks it out, either for patreon or on his own. the zuko/claudia similarities caught me off guard watching atla again with michael

yes! It's such a fantastic show. I watched the first three seasons over quarantine probably 9 or 10 times. It would be awesome for him to check it out on the channel, but I just think everyone should watch it lmao

Angie

There's nothing more entertaining than watching people react to the Zuk betrayal at the end. The frustration is so relatable. Like everyone expects him to go after Azula, but nope, our stubborn prince is a mess.

When you finish this series, I really hope you watch Avatar: The Legend of Korra

JT

You gotta watch the rest of the series!! Catching Fire is a literal masterpiece

the mai name thing is just bc its americany pronouncing it. just like with the name aang. its not how u would actually pronounce it. His pronounciation of mai is more correct
