So around 1:49:50 where u were wondering what the word Taeyang was saying with lots of emotion meant. Himdeuro pretty much means like it's hard, which I would take to them having translated as couldn't let you go.. Seems like that fits the best there.

you getting more into their songs closer to hiphop makes me so excited for you to see their earlier hiphop albums. i love them so much. i definitely think there’s a tonal switch in these earlier albums as well. while they still talk about important topics theres something a little wilder and crazier as they were heavily inspired by hiphop and were also teenagers (as you mentioned at the end of ddaeng explained how some of rap songs can be a bit toxic and wild). specifically rap line really looked up to a lot of american rappers and mentioned them in their songs (hobi recently met his idol jcole and totally fanboyed).

As some extra fun facts about Eyes, Nose, Lips for anyone interested. At the time no one (general public) knew that Taeyang and Hyorin had dated, so her face appearing was seen as standing in for an unknown someone else. The two had met when she was in the MV for his song 1AM (I believe it was this song, feel free to correct me if I am wrong) and so it wasn't super weird to see Hyorin's face. Hyorin has said how much she hated this song because after it was released the song was playing everywhere constantly, which meant that she had to constantly be confronted with it while she was just trying to move on and live her life. I'm sure she also didn't love seeing her face get burned over and over again while just being out and about. But they didn't stay broken up for long and in 2015 their relationship was revealed to the public and now they seem to be quite happily married. So all is well that ends well!

The music in Persona 5 (all of the music, even the slower parts and the transitional pieces) are phenomenal. I also HIGHLY recommend the game, especially if you like RPG games. So glad you had fun with it! I was a little worried suggesting it, since it’s so different from everything else that’s been sent in.

I love love love Tori Amos. I had two best friends in high school, and we would always sing her songs. A couple years after high school one of them died from a intestinal infection. We sang for him at his funeral. I don't really listen to her much now cause it brings up old memories. I just sat here and sang this song sobbing. But I needed it.

I hope it inspires you to watch Newsies (the live Broadway version, not the Christian Bale version) because he is phenomenal in the lead role of Jack Kelly. Also, the video said Super Girl because he was in that as a regular for the first 3 seasons.

Also, would totally be down with you rewatching Hamilton on here! There are so many people to look at, I still catch stuff when I watch it and I have seen it live twice and the Disney+ version multiple times. Before you watch it a second time, I would look up some articles about the connections and how he weaved the story and included elements that most people would never think of. I count myself lucky that I live in the same time period as him and get to experience his musical genius first hand.

Hey! BTS does go to other shows and I think Jimmy Fallon interviews are way more wholesome compared to the others. He also did a BTS week you could check it out whenever :) ALSO, someone in the custom tier please put in a request for JK's GCF series. (NOTE FOR YOU Michael : It's a series of shorts/travel vlogs that are shot and edited by Jungkook in his studio. It's worth checking out, even if one puts it in the custom tier) But it'll be nice if someone did :D

If you do get to incorporate RunBTS into your schedule you should watch a season of run then switch to bon voyage then back then when you get to the 2020 time frame do in the soop. I understand if that isn’t possible but I think it’d be really enjoyable for you! Yesss to more explain videos they’re all so great. The only one I don’t think they did a great job on is the one for the ‘on’ mv. The one for baepsae/silver spoon is one of my favorites which is a song you’ve already heard. An upcoming song that they have one for is paldogangsan which is just completely Korean references/culture so would be really helpful! Jk doing Joonie’s part in Ddaeng is soo iconic and has had the fandom in a chokehold since.

Bts have been on the graham norton show and Whoopi Goldberg gave them the shirt off her back during it because she was so moved/impressed by them. Also, fun fact whenever Joonie is in the London area/Europe he used his British accent which I can’t remember if you’ve heard yet or not. 🤣 They’ve been on Fallon a bunch (probably the show they’ve been on the most though cordon is very close). They’ve been on Ellen and Kimmel too it just wasn’t a great time so they didn’t go back much.

Hi Michael! I knew you would love the strings and the themes of "Winter!" Remember when you listened to "Girl" and I mentioned that it was a twisted fairy tale? And how "Silent All These Years" referenced the Little Mermaid? "Winter" is another classic fairy tale: Sleeping Beauty, white horses, etc. Listening to a Tori Amos song is like looking at an impressionist or abstract painting. Sometimes it's less about what an individual lyric says as to how the whole picture makes you feel. One of the first Tori songs I sent you was "Horses" from her third album. Tori has said that the horses from "Winter" came back to help her again. I wanted to send you that particular interview because it touches on some of the huge themes of Tori's life. Firstly, that she was a child prodigy who started playing at 2 and a 1/2, and she was admitted to the Peabody Institute at age 5. She lost her scholarship because she wanted to play popular music by ear. She wasn't much interested in reading twenty-page concertos. Secondly, Tori's father was heartbroken when she lost her scholarship. He really felt like Tori's gift was a gift from God, which is something you can't waste. Since they lived in Washington D.C., he took his 13yo daughter to all the tawny bars in Georgetown, looking for work. They all turned her down, but Mr. Henry's, the gay bar, saw someone a little different and said "come on in!" Tori's father got flack from the congregation about this, but he wisely said that a gay bar was one of the safest places for his daughter to be. For me, this is a big part of what "Winter" is about. He father put his career on the line to support his daughter, and he keep loving and supporting her no matter what. They didn't always get along or agree on everything, but they loved each other unconditionally. The fact that the gay community was so accepting of Tori and her father always warms my heart. Tori has always been a big LGBTQ supporter. Tori's mom was a huge supporter of her, and probably the most liberal parental figure. It was Tori's paternal grandmother who was the most controlling and shaming. I'll send you an interview with Tori's parents in the coming months. I'm trying to send you Tori every other month, so we will get back to Tori in April. Thank you for your excellent reviews!

Taeyang: Eyes, Nose, Lips -- the song would be devastating if you didn't know the happy ending that followed. But, he didn't know it when he released the song, and I wonder what HER reaction was to seeing her face burning in that m/v. As a long time musical theater fan I’m so happy to see you react to Jeremy Jordan! His voice and acting are absolutely incredible. He was also in The Last Five Years (a movie musical with Anna Kendrick) and the filmed stage version of Newsies as the lead, and there’s some other amazing videos of him singing covers of various songs on YouTube as well. If you’re more interested in waitress songs, he actually played another lead character, Dr. Pomatter, so there’s videos of him singing as that character in duets with Jenna

I felt like such a proud mom when you spotted JK behind the camera so fast :') Would definitely love for you to watch Carpool Karaoke, that video converted so many people into ARMYs. It still does, I just rewatched it a couple of weeks ago and there were new comments saying so. They also have been with Jimmy Fallon several times, though many of those where through video call because those were during the pandemic. I WOULD LOOOVE TO REWATCH RUN BTS ALONG WITH YOU!! It's such an escape show, I'm actually rewatching them now. The first episodes are actually very short (around 10 minutes long), they eventually get longer to the point of dividing the episode in 2 or even 4 parts. I believe the longest episode is about 56 minutes long (it's a second part of an episode). Oh So glad you got to watch DDAENG's original version and the explanation video. I also loooove that channel's explanation for Bapsae (Silver Spoon/Try-Hard, that song has so many different names), in case you want to check it out on your own time. Hi, I'm so glad someone suggested The Amazing Devil to you Michael (thanks Alex!). When I discovered them I've completely fallen in love and they ruled my Spotify Wrapped. The lyrics are so intriguing, the music encompassing and the whole vibe and energy just amazing! I hope you'll do some more of their stuff. The Unwanted Animal is almost only Madeleine (the female singer from the band) singing, the ones when you can hear both of them are even more complete in my opinion. I don't think they really have music videos, but there are some recording sessions filmed on their website!

Also if you loved Jeremy Jordan and his emotion and acting in this miscast performance, you HAVE to watch him in The Last Five Years with Anna Kendrick and the live staged version of Newsies. He played the lead in both and killed it. In Newsies one of the songs he sings is regarded as one of the hardest broadway songs for men vocally and he sings it like it's the easiest thing ever.

Jeremy Jordan is a vocal genius, the way he sings and emotes is a thing of beauty and literally always gives you chills. I saw him sing a Celine Dion song in the original key, mindblowing. So I got to see Ben Platt and Lin Manuel Miranda perform that mash up live at the March in DC a few years back. I've been a fan of Ben Platt since I first saw him in Pitch Perfect (like it was such an odd attachment) but he just has the exact type of male voice I love. Rich, full, heavy vibrato (Ben Platt, Josh Groban, Eddie Redmayne, Sam Smith...) and then when I saw him in Dear Evan Hansen it just sealed the deal for me because he's such an emotional actor. He performed For Forever live on the Colbert Show and even Stephen cried. He's just such an impressive singer and actor.

Jazmine Sullivan is the perfect example of how Black women have to be at least 2-3 times more talented, skilled, persistent, etc than white women to make it half as far. Sara Bareilles didnt just write the song. She wrote the whole musical and she performed as Jenna, the main character, on broadway for quite some time. And she sang the whole official soundtrack. I havent seen the musical, but I have the soundtrack in my playlists and watched a few youtube videos about it. She Used To Be Mine is the main song. It's when Jenna realizes that she is pregnant (another reason why Jeremy probably wouldnt be cast). That's the life growing inside her that is mentioned I really love Sara performing this song, but yeah gotta admit Jeremy also really killed it

i am SO GLAD you liked The Amazing Devil!!! i’m definitely planning on requesting more songs from them, so don’t you worry about that :) they have one very old video that is sort of like a homemade music video from a song on their first album, but other than that there’s no official music videos (which breaks my heart, because i just know they would be unbelievable) they did a batch of live performances of songs with a full band in the middle of a forest while dressed in costume and makeup, which definitely has a fantastic energy to it, but that’s the closest to a music video you’ll find.

Oh, Jazmine Sullivan! Her debut album came out in 2008, my junior year of high school a little bit after I had started driving. I played that album in my car on repeat. Lions, Tigers, and Bears in particular had such a grip on me. Sadly, I didn’t keep up with her. Seems like I need to catch up with her newer releases.

i've never seen anyone react to the amazing devil before, this is so exciting. They're a group from England who met working for the Royal Shakespeare Company, their names are joey batey and madeleine hyland. Joeys actually Jaskier in 'The Witcher' where he plays a bard and the songs he has in that are amazing too, if you ever need a new series to watch, thats how i found the band. They have 3 amazing albums, this ones from 'The Horror and the wild' which is their second album and one of my favourites, i'd really suggest checking out either that or their third album 'ruin' as those are the best in my opinion.
