Just so you know, the Seungri stuff that you read about, none of it is true. The only stuff that's true about it is the gambling stuff. Gambling is illegal in korea and so he got jail time for it, but all the assault and traffic stuff ain't true. police reoprts, courts documents and every single victims AND criminals said that seungri had nothing to do with it. Despite what every articles say, the Burning Sun was NOT his club. if you want more infos on that, ask me about it, but don't spread lies about it just because you read some articles and antis' take on it. I read the police reports, courts documents and every victims and criminals' testimony while all these tabloids, articles and antis haven't. Don't spread lies about him. He did not do any of the shit that's being said about it apart from the gambling.

Shania and DPR IAN all at once??? I win this one

Seodo and Key in one stream, two of my favorites! I hope Seodo can gain more international fans, their Peaceful Arirang is so beautiful. Seodo are the pioneers of a new type of sound called Joseon pop that mixes traditional Korean singing and instrumentation with modern pop music. There isn't anyone like them right now. Fingers crossed that one day there could be a full reaction to Key's entire Gasoline album (or the repacked version when it comes out) . One of the best pop albums of the year, the songs and production are all top tier. I actually think Gasoline is one of the weaker songs on the album compared to Second Life, Bound, I can't sleep, Villain, and Ain't gonna dance but I get why it was picked for the title song.

Iva Morris

BIGBANG, Still Life - Kwon Jiyong is G-Dragon's real name <3

Amber

For SKZ, Hyunjin was the one who said "Felix are you sleeping?" Also, I think you got Bangchan and Changbin mixed up. This happens a lot when you're first getting to know them, especially when they shorten Bangchan to just Chan and use the subunit names like Chanlix and Changlix. Chan is also an Aussie and spoke fluent English and Korean pre-debut. Felix didn't know Korean well at all when he joined the group as you know, so I think that's why he enjoys teaching them English, because they taught him Korean. Changbin has come a long way but definitely one of the members who has had the most difficulty learning English. Loved your reaction to them! Also, Yoongi produced Eight too! I love his production style and I felt like this complimented IU's style and artistry so well

Iva Morris

Key, Gasoline: The outfit changes are almost expected. Key is a fashion director at SM Entertainment and is known well for his sense of fashion. He's been styling SHINee for years.

Kitsune

Thank you as always for requesting SHINee and for giving Key the spotlight this month! The entire album was perfect and Groks in Keyland was amazing. 💎

Iva Morris

Love them all so much! I love alternating between the group and solo projects! They're so diverse that we'll be here a while. Thanks for watching along with me. Shawols watching together is always better <3

Kitsune

Finding other Shawols online is instant happiness! Any of the songs from Gasoline are worth reacting too. I'm also waiting for "Choice" from Minho. He knows we are all waiting for him to pick the right album name. Don't let Shawols down Minho. X-D

Iva Morris

We need Minho to fill the SHINee plagiarism bingo card for sure! 😂

If you want a more in depth explanation for eight there’s a video from dkdktv!

OMGGGG dpr ian I'm so excited you reacted to him I saw dpr last month they were great ian is more my fav seeing/hearig it live was so great, but honestly I can't wait if you to listen to his songs fully. There's something about his songs that are hauntingly beautiful

Mariana

Second this, that channel is so good for in depth explanations. Especially with the cultural contexts one may not be familiarized with.

Tee Cee

I’ve seen Keith in concert 5 times and number 6 in a few weeks. He is brilliant, vocals, performance, guitar, everything. I am never disappointed. And Stupid Boy is my favourite song too.glad you enjoyed. Go see him as soon as you get the chance!!!

EB

I think you would really like DPR IAN’s albums! I would recommend starting with MITO (the one before MIITO). DPR is sort of like an artist collective. They aren’t under a big label - they are the group and the label, it’s just them. Also, it’s pretty common to hear artists introduce themselves with their group name first. For example, the BTS members frequently introduce themselves as “BTS Jungkook”, “BTS RM”, etc. Ian used to mainly focus on the visuals for the group and did the music videos for DPR LIVE (another member). I would recommend checking those out as well (Neon, Kiss Me, and Yellow Cab are my faves). Then Ian decided to start releasing music as well. He used to be a member of a K-pop group called C-Clown, and yes, he can dance😂 I know you usually prefer lyric videos so as to not get overwhelmed between lyrics, music, and visuals, but I think you can see from the video you watched that the visuals go hand in hand with the tracks, so I would highly recommend watching the MVs. I think there is one for almost every track on MITO. I just love the way he uses music and the visuals to express himself - he really blends them so well to create an immersive experience.

Kritika

I have always wanted you to react to Eight by IU and Suga. You should definitely check out dkdktv on youtube for an in-depth explanation.

Jayde Ritchey

LM playing Pictionary is so chaotic lol I'm so glad you liked Knots! I just find Anna's voice to be so captivating, and the instrumentals make me think of falling leaves after they've changed colour. The whole album At Now is really good, and I'm sure you'd enjoy it. If you find a vinyl please, please, please let me know! Mitch's voice on that cover always gives me chills.

Rebecca H

Always fun to see Little Mix get competitive with games :D they make me laugh so much

Grace

for mitch's your power cover, i believe he wrote and performed the piano part, arranged the strings that came in at the end, and produced the whole thing. he put a ton of work into it and he said he was so proud of billie for the song that it was the least he could do to honor it

Julie B

Hi Mike! I'm glad you really enjoyed "Silent All These Years!" When you are listening to Tori's music, I would recommend you think of her songs more like an abstract or impressionistic painting. If you peer too closely, you might not get anything, but stepping back can make a song make sense. I think the overall theme of "Little Earthquakes" is the desire to be in control of your own life. We especially heard that on "Girl" and we will hear it again in January when you listen to "Precious Things." In "Silent All These Years," Tori is specifically talking about being in charge of her own voice. Here are a few things she has said about the song: "It's about realizing, painfully, you've kept that voice inside yourself, locked away from even yourself. And you step back and see that your jailer has changed faces. You realize you've become your own jailer." - E Online Starboard 6/98 "So I was with my niece Cody, who was a little girl at the time, and she's very much a part of "Silent All These Years," because she loved fairytales and stories, and we would share the Little Mermaid story — Hans Christian Andersen and the idea that she'd lost her voice — and watching Cody respond to this young woman giving up her essence and power, all for something else, and in that moment, I realized that when she had no voice, that just completely took me to the place where I needed to go to reclaim it." Rolling Stone - December 18, 2009 "You know, there's some fucking going on in other people's songs, but no one ever gets into an unwanted pregnancy. I sing, 'Boy you best pray that I bleed real soon.'" Nieuwe Revu Magazine Tori has written two books, "Piece by Piece" and "Resistance." There are audiobooks, but they are audio-only recordings. 🤣 In "Resistance," she writes about starting to work playing clubs and hotels professionally at age 13. She often was fired because she wanted to play a David Bowie or a Queen cover, but management had other ideas. She wasn't drunk; she was bored! As always, thank you for your review. I'm off to listen to the other requests!

Hunter Kuehn

Tori Amos!!! I saw her earlier this year and she was AMAZING. So excited to see your reaction.

lelmDR.WHO

DPR IAN and Live are some of favorites artists. Sonically and visually! No one’s at their level right now in my opinion

Really happy to see you loved Eight by IU. It's such an important and comforting song to me. To me, though the chorus of this song is so upbeat, there's a sadness to it. The song feels like coveting something you lost and desperately wanting to get back to it. The memories are both a source of joy and pain...joy for what they were and what that time meant to you, and pain because you can never go back there again. All you have are the memories, and the more you move away from that time, the more it hurts to go back there again in your mind. And yet you can't stop yourself from returning to that island again and again. It's weird to describe my view of the song this way and then call it comforting, but that's just how it feels to me.

Mariana

How was Miley Cyrus guessed from that drawing?? My first thought was also to draw a wrecking ball. I loooooove Breathe by Anna Nalick and I hadn't listen to anything else by her either, I guess I have to change that. I love Eight by IU and Suga, glad you got to check it out 💜💜 it's so beautiful and dark/bright. Mitch's voice is always jaw dropping, no matter how many times I listen to it. That sEODo 'ganggangsullae' was so hypnotizing, the vocals made me go into a trance. OMG Tori Amos is so charismatic, I'd also love a video audiobook by her, that would be so entertaining.

Liuzetz

Thank you for whoever requested DPR Ian and Eight by IU and Suga. DPR Ian is an incredible artists that I do think you will like a lot if you get the chance to listen to more f if projects. And 8 is such a special song, really emotional and the melody is so cheerful and longing. Amazing.

Michael, Has anyone requested Winter Flower by Younha ft, RM? It's another great collab from the rap line. https://youtu.be/OcCkAG_LO9Y

theGeekOutGirl

I'd love to see all your animals!!!!!

Richard

Can you please react to more Kelly Clarkson.

jennptx

One reason I love your reactions, Michael, is because you give voice to a bunch of intuitive vibes I get, but don't know how to express. I hadn't thought about the healing aspects of Eight, but it makes sense that it's a song that makes me feel good despite the sadness in it. And I think SUGA was the perfect producer for it, because he's so good at making songs that are realistically sad and about struggle, but making them comforting and inspiring. I can't wait to send more IU!

Jared Scoggin

You can always count on Little Mix playing a game to be entertaining and chaotic.

Julie B

I saw her in Atlanta this year. She sang the song "Little Earthquakes." She can still hit all those crazy high notes in the bridge!

Yukari

I am obsessed with that song! It’s hauntingly beautiful! They sound great together!

2022-12-27 17:24:54 I love IU v much. Her voice is such a breath of fresh air in every new song. A LOT of fans believe 'Eight' is a dedication to both Jonghyun and Sulli. She was very close friends with them both. I personally don't know if it is or not, but the message is a special one, regardless. <3

I'm not really a country fan anymore, but I've seen Keith Urban many times and it's always an experience. 10/10 recommend.

Eight is such a beautiful song and i love that it's both happy and sad, in the lyrics, the production and the MV. The topic is very sad and the loss is sad, but it doesn't negate all the happy memories and the time you did have together... There needs to be happiness for there to be grief and it's so beautifully presented in this song. IU's voice is so beautiful as well (there's a live acoustic-y performance she did that i really recommend, it's on her channel)! Suga as a producer is always a treat, especially for other artists, he always adapts his style but you can recognize his touch, i really love all his works and you never know what's coming!

Hey Michael - thanks for your Delta reaction. I was so bummed not to give you a live version of "Heavy" but unfortunately all I could find was it as part of a whole concert and I don't have the editing skills needed to pull out one song. You mentioned the similarity in tone to Celine Dion and many agree with you! Delta has written a song for Celine and I believe she looked up to her when she was young. Your interpretation on some of the lyrics of her fighting against the odds etc was spot on given she won her battle against cancer and that tall poppy syndrome I've mentioned before.

chimelle6

The meaning of the ending of eight to me: the slight smile is her smiling that her friends are finally 'happy now' because they're free of their pains, but the transition to the angry face is to the bullies/internet people and saying 'are you happy now with what you did? the place you made these people go, are you happy you accomplished your goal?' Many people interpret the animated girl and the animated lizard/dragon as her friends that passed. One of the friends was nicknamed charmander, which would be the lizard/dragon. I love that it shows them flying together and happy at the end.

Jayde Ritchey

If you send him a video that's longer than 10 minutes, you can always just give Michael the timestamps for the part you want him to watch ☺️ I've done that a few times in the past and it's never been an issue.

Kylie aka BallisticGal

Thanks Jayde - appreciate your advice. Michael is such an obliging guy as he already has to read my synopsis before he even plays the video 😂
