Wow, the album is incredible. I wasn't planning on crying but here I am... this album has some of the most immaculate latin vibey songs and most heartbreaking songs

I was in the fandom when she left Fifth Harmony, and yeah the split was pretty messy. Camila had obviously wanted to go solo for a while, with several of her original songs she made on her own leaking online, but their management refused to let her release her own music while still in the group. She did a solo collabs with Shawn and MGK, but couldn't release her own solo material. She negotiated her contract to leave the group after their 2nd album, but their management allegedly posted the announcement earlier than they was agreed, basically blind-sighting her and the girls. This was after their team had done petty stuff make it look like she wasn't fully committed to the group, like posting pics of the 4 girls in the studio without Camila (who confirmed she was actually there). The lyrics "I don't blame the girls for how it went down" tells me that she's aware it wasn't her or the other girls' fault for the breakup being so ugly. but rather the group's management team who essentially created a fan war that is still going on today for some reason lol

Thank you for your reaction! Camila’s cousin Caro, who is also on the cover sings the background vocals in Celia and her dad is singing with her on La Buena Vida. Lola is about the devastating issues in Cuba right now

Good call. I too was in the fandom back then, I also understood the down reference as in it being the first single fifth harmony released without Camila I believe.

would love to hear you react to more of WILLOW

Marcella Raponi

Awesome reaction Michael! It's so apparent just how in love she still is and if you get her album she makes a special homage to Shawn and thanks him profusely for everything he has taught her etc. She also says "I Love you so much". You should read it its beautiful. These two are not over yet. I feel like they broke up just so that they could both work on themselves mentally. It will be very interesting to watch when they both perform at WangoTango. Shawn Said in one of his interviews that you shouldn't be surprised or put it past them if they do something together. We can only hope. Also in promoting his own song he also stated that he still loves her and that he will never stop. Selfishly I would love to see them get back together, however I'm here to support whatever makes them happy. Still crying!

Thank you Michael, I love this album so much and haven't stopped listening to it since it dropped. Now I can play over your reaction over and over as well, it's like listening with a friend, and listening for the first time again! I thought the delay in the album release might have been to kind of 'remove' Shawn from most of the music, so I was surprised that every track (except Lola) is either about him and their relationship or refers to it (such as in Psychofreak). I remember you saying that Wonder was soaked in love, and so is this one, in a much different way. In an honest way showing the painful, tortured and toxic sides of a relationship when anxiety, intrusive thoughts, overthinking and paranoia seep in. She is immensely brave to share these intimate thoughts and feelings with us and her pen has sketched what it is like to be inside her head with wicked poetry. Add to that the musicality, inspired collaborations (most notably Willow, whose voice is HAUNTING) and her incredible voice, and this album deserves every accolade. So it may not be in a theme of 'familia' - although as you said Lola is about (possibly) her grandmother, her father sings at the end of La Buena Vida and that's her little cousin Caro singing the lalalalas in Celia - but it is about her musical roots, which come from that family. I cried when I heard Everyone at This Party but then began to think about it and couldn't work out where they would have been in New York at the same time since their break up, but then I realised that it could have been in the past. In This Love, All These Years and Should've Said It for a start she mentions he needed space and the two years they wasted, and in Don't Go Yet she mentions going to a party in the dress she wore for a little drama hoping to get his attention. And they are in touch and would have known where each other was. Also in her Thank Yous on the CD she thanks Shawn for inspiring her when he made Wonder, and one of the first things I noticed was that she showed this inspiration by opening with an intro, and closing with a raw guitar and vocal heartbreaker, just like he did. Much as it broke my heart to see them split up, I can't deny it has led them to release their best music!
