A little while ago we had this topic on my patreon discord server about drawing and start to learn drawing.

I did this little comparison of my Asura drawings to show you, that progress WILL come if you just don't stop drawing. But improvement does not come within a few days, you have to be patient and most important, don't be discouraged by other artists! Even them have once started and their first art surely did not look that awesome as what you see of them today. I know it is easy to say to not be upset when looking at gorgeous art, but try to see it as inspiration and motivation. You can learn to draw like that as well.

It also does not matter when you draw, or how much you draw.. if you don't feel like drawing a week or longer, then that's ok! Some people draw every day, and some need breaks in between. But you need to keep in mind, if you don't draw at all, you won't get any practice. Drawing should come from your heart. It should not be a "I HAVE to draw now because I want to get better"... It should be something that you love to do and not something that you "should" do.

Improvement is something that creeps on you veeery silently and slowly. Give it a year, and then put your art next to each other like I did here and I am sure you will see a difference.

Also, don't be shy or don't feel bad for using references! References can be used not only for anatomy, also for colors, background inspiration or to see how something has to look like >u<

I know I am not perfect and far from what some other artists are able to, but still, I draw my whole life already and hope these words could help you to not lose track on your own goal QuQ And if you ever have any questions I am here to try my best to answer them >u<
