Sandy Cai

Haven't watched it but I'm so excited for this reaction!! Watching this while at work.

Iris

SEATED, EXCITED TO REWATCH WITH YOU

Tesa

What a surprise! Can't wait to rewatch tomorrow and hear your thoughts on the final lineup! ☺️

P ✮

YESSSS THANK YOU <3 I’m looking forward to crying again. I was beyond worried watching this finale but P05 LET’S GOOOOO :’)

ilays

I just finished ep 6 with you guys, I can't wait to catch up with this show lol

Sarah 세라

I CANT WAIT TO WATCH THIS!!!

DuckyDae X

overall im pretty happy with the lineup, but seeing my one pick so damn close kills me. 116,000 votes between jay and yujin. had the votes not been weighted he probably would’ve made it. but i do completely agree that tonally jay doesn’t fit this line-up. honestly, i’d love mystic to take him (with a few other trainees like phanbin + wumuti + seunghwan + haruto - it’d be a loud and undernineteen reunion lol) but he has said he’s not giving up! what’s gutting is we now know jay was the g-group target for the interim ranking and by collateral, so was phanbin being their sacrificial lamb when people began panic voting for shanbin + taerae.

anejelly

Apologies for the very long comment. I need to get this out of my system lol. I'll be supporting ZB1 no matter what :)) I was looking forward to the last episode but I don't think I can rewatch it (alteast not for a while) knowing Keita and PHanbin is not in the final line up. All the debut members are talented and have immense potential, I'm sure they'll do well and succeed during the period of their contract but a part of me is still sad about this. I want to support and cheer for them but I really need time to get over the thought of Keita and Matthew not debuting together :(( I originally had no plans watching another mnet survival show because I really don't think I've fully move on from what happened to X1 but the moment I found out Keita was participating I knew I had no choice. I've been voting for him every single day since the start of the show and it hurts to know that 10 years worth of sacrifice was still not enough to be on the debut group. I'm sure he'll do well and I really hope to God that Rain will finally promote Ciipher properly this time. As for PHanbin I don't know whether wakeone is gonna wait for Taerae and debut them as a group along with other wakeone trainees but I believe in his potential and ability to lead a group. I hope all the trainees (not just the top 18) will succeed in the path they will take now that the show is over. Among all produce series this is probably the show I am most attached and heartbroken with. I'll be watching your reaction to this one day PD, not now but someday. For now here are my thoughts on the debut line-up. Dance - Strong line up. I think it's on the same par as Kep1er. Hanbin, Yujin, Gyuvin, and Gunwook are possible main dancer and even Zhang Hao, Matthew, and Ricky are good enough to be lead dancers. Jiwoong is good but I don't think dance is his forte. Taerae still has a lot to improve but he'll get there. Vocal - Mid. A lot of them are good vocalist such as Hanbin, Matthew, and Ricky, and Jiwoong. I know Zhang Hao and Taerae will basically carry the group in terms of vocal but honestly speaking if someone between Hui, Jay or Seungeon made it into this group the vocal line up would've been 10x stronger. Rap - Mid to Weak (for now) I know Gunwook will be carrying the rap line and I belive in him. He has so much potential so I'm not worried. Yujin, Gyuvin, Jiwoong also have a background on rapping so one or two of them will possibly be the lead and sub rapper but right now I still think it's weak. They are still rookies so I know they will grow over the time. I'm not really worried with this line up, they are all very talented but what I'm really worried about is the direction of their music under wakeone. I love my girls Kep1er and they do have good bsides but discography wise they are far behind most 4th gen ggs so I hope it will not be the same for the boys. Wake one need to go all out because a lot of fans from all over the world are looking out for this group.

km

i’m honestly extremely happy with this lineup! i was hoping keita would debut with the group but i’m not mad at ricky for making it. i think my biggest surprise was matthew. for those who might not be involved with the show more than casually watching it- the media has been pushing a hate train against him for the past month or so which is why he dropped to 9. it was so bad that his company had to put out a statement regarding malicious comments. after ricky was called for 4th a lot of us thought it was over for matthew but i’m so glad he was called. he was great relationships with a lot of the trainees in the group. your comment about him not fitting in other concepts is understandable but i think it might be a agree to disagree situation. i think given the right concept he’ll be able to shine in whatever he does!

km

i’m on twitter quite often so seeing the almost constant death threats and horrible comments sent towards him was so emotionally draining. his sister posted about it as well and made it pretty clear that matthew knew about the amount of hate he received. i think out of everyone i was most surprised by gyuvin, ricky, and gunwook as people weren’t sure about their one pick power. i’m also absolutely elated that hao got center! i obviously would’ve been happy with hanbin getting it as well but there’s something so special about a chinese trainee getting center for the first time. apparently they’ll debut in july so i’m looking forward to a summer concept!

crys

WOAH thank you pd! cant wait to see your thoughts and all LOL people are actually making fun of the group name because 0 and 1 in chinese mean top and bottom and base in chinese (基) is slang for gay 😭 but im excited because i feel like the group is going to be big and make a lot of change/impact! this isnt that important and i dont know if you noticed but for all his performances, zhang hao has been wearing a half sleeve on one side of his outfits, from kill this love to tomboy to over me and even jelly pop! and this cut sleeve is actually a narrative in china for homosexuality and zhang hao is too smart for this to be a coincidence. theres also been old posts from his weibo in the gay forum making fun of homophobes and clowning straight people the way homophobes do! i love seeing representation and i feel comforted that zhang hao is showing some discreet kind of representation and i feel like the lineup is going to be soo impactful and make a difference in the kpop industry! like the first foreigner center in a mnet survival show (plus a potential gay idol placing first!) ill be watching these two eps later and post my actual thoughts !!!!

Liv

It feels so odd for it being over, I just need everyone who didn’t make it to debut already and ride the wave

Liv

I hope a path opens up for Jongwoo, it’s not like he couldn’t be a solo but having a good company and good group could do wonders for his career and he deserves to flourish

Violet Joo

I am not mad with the final results but after the program ended I have been thinking that the bottom 9 being a group will be such a good group too. For me, I think that bottom 9 has strong rap line (JeongHyun, Kandem, Keita, Jongwoo) and vocal line (Hui, Jay, SeungOen). The dance line can be Hanbin, Jongwoo, Keita and even KumJuenHyun is someone who can be lead dancer and lead vocal. Keita not making it was a real shock. I don't know but Rain is such an irresponsible producer, I am saying this because he gets really talented people, makes a group and then nothing... I was not an Mblaq fan and still made me sad the way they were treated after debut. I think I will listen to ZB1 music but I have to see them debut to see if I will stan them. I love all in the group but at the end of the day the music is gonna decide.

Liv

Not having Keita here just felt like a KICK TO THE STOMACH, we’re missing out on a Japanese member FOR A GLOBAL GROUP??, an actual rapper who writes his own lyrics which is needed in the 5th generation standards, on top of being a great performer, other members of Ciipher also went on survival shows so it felt like he would benefit the most here

pikachu

I really like this lineup. As you said I think they fit in together very well. 6 out of my TOP9 made it so I'm definitely going to stan and watch their contents More about Gyuvin: his fancams for Love Killa / En Garde are crazy. And he really made me cry with that speech. He's also really funny. I think you're gonna like his dynamics with the others. I just hope they'll be managed properly and get good music. Jiwoong forgetting the group's name is hilarious to me.

Liv

I’m actually so pleasantly surprised at Zhang Hao being number one, bc on top of deserving it, FINALLY A CHINESE MEMBER AT NUMBER 1, and I felt that if Zhang Hao didn’t over take him at least once in the official rankings Hanbin would feel too much pressure, and it’s nice to shake things up a bit!! Heavy is the head that wears the crown and now that they can share that burden I think it will be more beneficial in the long run for their stamina

anejelly

If there is one person in this show aside from the debut group that I honestly can't wait to debut, it's definitely Park Hanbin. Among all the trainee I can see and feel the desperation in him to debut and it's even crazier becuase you know he gives 110% in every performance he's in. I saw some of the clips right after the show ended and he was crying the most from what I've seen. To think that he's probably gonna bump into the members since they belong to the same company hurts my soul. I hope nothing but success to go in his way. He deserves to be debut and succeed.

Vorpax Jade

With Jay he’s part of a future 2nd subunit of the group M.O.N.T all their missing is a third member. MONT will be a 9 member group made from 3 subunits. So we’ve been waiting a long time for the 2nd subunit to debut. The first subunit appeared on the survival show Peak Time which aired at the same time frame as Boys Planet. This show is from JTBC and they bring unknown groups as well as disbanded and on hiatus groups to compete and gain more recognition. You’ll recognize many of the groups on the show which you have reacted to their debuts and comebacks.

Liv

Every time we suffer for survival shows and for what! To go watch another one when it comes out get attached and hurt when they disband? ,,,, Yes, yes I will come back every time ☠️ don’t talk to me about Queendom Puzzle yet I’ll be there but I need a breather bc I won’t be prepared for Chaeyeon and Miru possibly crying again

Vorpax Jade

Forgot to mention Jay released a MV as a soloist 6 months ago Jay Chang - “Liar” (prod. RODA) MV

Ceyda Nur

4 members in the group are debuting with at least one tattoo haha

soel

glad your pick made it!! i seriously think this group is gonna be super huge when they debut! i honestly disagree with your comments on matthew at the end especially because i really enjoyed his kill this love and love killa stages and was also pretty impressed by a lot of his predebut hiphop dance videos that circulated on twitter especially as a hiphop dancer myself. i feel like he'd do well regardless of concept but i guess that's just up to personal preference and how you view him haha. super happy with the members that got chosen. i do hope that all the people that didn't make it all get to debut as well! everyone on this show especially the people in the last few eps have been so great.

soel

also really enjoyed all your boys planet reactions!! thank you for reacting to it.

nins

There's a lot of talk on twitter about the group being only main dancers and mediocre singers or rappers which is crazy in my opinion. I do think out of the three the dancing will be the best (you have someone like Hanbin who is trained in technically hard dancing styles that are unique like tutting and wacking, and then you have Gunwook who is so incredibly powerful it's insane). I think Vocals are going to be great because Hanbin, Zhanghao, and Taerae are amazing singers, and Ricky and Gunwook would make great leads (and yes PD, he can sing and hit high notes too!!! Please watch Wild Idol because he was able to show his rapping and singing better there than in Boy's Planet). Rap will be really great too!!! Gunwook can RAP, like I think people simply don't know how good he is. He literally has been recognized by Bobby, Lil Boi, Tiger JK, Bizzy, etc. (all recognized and respected Korean rappers) and on one of his self composed raps on Wild Idol he literally mentioned Western hip hop legends like Nas. He isn't just some kid who picked it up, he has passion and has done his research. Gyuvin will improve and gain confidence in time, and he and Yujin both have great potential in rapping. ZB1 are debuting in July

anejelly

BEP1ER is still iconic tbh HAHAHAHA

sunnyside

okay i'm settling in for this but i can't WAIT to watch you go through this as a gunwook stan, juuuuust like i did but live! this really was like... the most shounen anime way for things to end up though, wasn't it? like if anything was going to go down, this is the most insane and satisfying way for it to do so. we've never had a center duo/top 2 the way we have with hanbin and hao, and i don't think we ever will after this. they're truly, honestly something special. in some shots, you can see the staff begging them to stop holding hands because they were making the seperate shots of them useless, but they gave up when they realized they weren't going to do. incredible until the end.

nins

I feel the same way about Gunwook too. I was insanely depressed February and March, to the point where I don't remember anything really. But seeing him be so passionate, so firm in his convictions, and his willingness to strategize to get his goal, inspired me. He's only 18 and I am older than him but I respect and admire him so much. Sometimes I feel silly that I think "What would Gunwook do in this situation?" or "I have to make Gunwook proud" in order to encourage me to do my schoolwork or job, but then I realize sometimes I struggle to live for myself. But I think finding someone like Gunwook to live through is something I needed, as I wasn't strong enough to continue for myself and without him as a role model I'd just continue rotting away and being depressed. Seeing him succeed has made me so insanely happy it inspired me. I feel like a proud relative of his, watching him bloom. He's my favorite idol too. I honestly want him to just succeed and have an amazing career and family in the future and be surrounded by love. I truly wish him the best and will always be a silent supporter for him. It's funny though, because I remember watching Wild Idol back then and getting slightly annoyed he was so good at everything because he was threatening my faves on that show.

laura

6/9 of my personal top 9 made it so overall I'm pretty happy with the group. Zhanghao coming in first was a shocker but I am so, so happy for him - first time a global trainee became the center for a Produce group! Teared up a bit at Gunwook's speech but my main tearjerker was Gyuvin. There's just something about this guy... he comes across as super genuine so his words really touched me. Definitely looking forward to these two the most in their future activities. One thing that's gonna take me a while to get over though, is my 1 pick PHanbin not making it. He was so deserving of debuting, you can really tell that he gave 200% throughout the entire show and to see him so devastated at the end and also in his letter that he shared after the final was heartbreaking. I really hope he gets to debut soon too, his talents cannot go to waste. There have actually been a lot of demands for a JBJ like group with the eliminated trainees but I doubt it's gonna happen. Anyways! I'm super excited for ZB1, I think they can be huge if they get decent music. I really liked the songs on the show so I hope they can keep it up for their group music too! 🖤

nkmt

omggg didn't expect this to be released today im excited

Isabella N.

zhang hao was my 1-pick (i did vote for gunwook a lot during the last round too tho). i was afraid he would drop in rankings because he’s popular AND a global trainee (i have gp999 trauma). so i was super relieved when he was announced for being in the top 2, but i was so happy and shocked when he won first place. the first ever chinese/non-korean mnet center 😭😭 also pls consider this: this group has 4 yuehwa trainees, 2 highly ranked chinese members, a bl actor, 4(?) members with tattoos, a wacking/tutting dancer, and the Boyfriends™️ (haobin) LMAO. like they dont perfectly fall into conventional kpop idol vibe, you know mnet was unhappy about some of those things, and i’m loving that. last thing, PH-1 commented under his insta post telling keita to come work with him lmao.

feli

I highly recommend watching Wild Idol in your own time someday, I watched it after learning about Gunwook from Boys Planet and it was great to see kinda where he started from. He was so young there (16, I believe) and still so talented and hard working. Kamden was also there for a bit. Its a fun show to watch. Obviously he doesn't make it into that show's lineup (I don't feel like its necessary to spoiler warn for that one lmao) and I have to admit I'm grateful for it. I probably wouldn't know who he is today if not for Boys Planet.

feli

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing where the eliminated trainees end up. Thats one of my favorite things about survival shows, especially the big mnet ones. Making it to the top eighteen is a huge platform for these trainees and they'll hopefully have very bright futures. I'll be biasing Gunwook as a member of ZB1 and probably even after that <3

cynthia li

I was absolutely gobsmacked to see Zhang Hao in number 1. Like it was just so surprising - he faced so many hurdles and he's such a good guy. I saw so many tweets before the final about how he'd be a real fighting contender for P01 if he were Korean. Well, turns out he was a fighting contender for P01 even still! I also adored how warm and sincere Hanbin was in congratulating him. That takes a very big man to be able to do so, and he was genuinely delighted to see his friend succeed. I loved watching them walk up the stairs together - if I'm not wrong that's the first time ever in the produce/planet series. They really did form a genuine connection on this show, and it's so admirable. GUNWOOK P05! I was also soooo worried for him when he wasn't announced by P06, but then screamed in delight when he got fifth. Hao did eventually become my one pick, but gunwook always had a very special place in my heart. I love the boy so much. I'm very excited for the future of this group. I actually think they all suit a fresh concept, like Jelly Pop. I don't think they're bound to a hard concept (though they'll be really great at that too) I feel very sad to see the remaining trainees leave though. I'm delighted by the main lineup. Like genuinely they are my ideal lineup. But man. Park Hanbin, Keita, Jay, Seungeon... So many gems. I hope they get snatched up soon.

Audrey

Dang that was a ride! I knew I had to finish this with you tonight (it's 230am here) otherwise I would be too distracted at work tomorrow haha. (Sorry for the upcoming novel, I'm aware no one will probably read the whole thing but hey, gotta tall about it somewhere) Okay thoughts time! The performances were awesome, I loved both the songs and choreo, I will forever be bitter that it was lipsynced but I understand that it's MNet and that the boys had no choice. The group name is okay, I don't love it but it's better then Bep1er lol I'm sure it will grow on me, plus the Chinese slang translation seems to fit the theme that's been running so I can't complain there. Time for the group. I am optimistic but disappointed. My one pick was Park Hanbin, and I am very sad about him not making the group. He deserved it truly. I'm also disappointed about Keita. I honestly didn't realize how much I was rooting for him until he wasn't in the top 9. (Also no japanese trainees and no rappers? Like how?) The less I say about that the better. Other then those two most of my main hopefuls were eliminated in the earlier eps. I am optimistic though because for the group who made it they seem to have a good base (ex the pun). To me they seem close, like they trust and are ready to rely on each other when things get tough. Having good people around you is so very important and I truly think they have a good group of guys there. Skills wise I'm worried about the rapping, I know Gunwook can rap and is pretty good but he's not a rapper. There truly is a difference. And without an actual rap member it will be difficult for them to measure up to alot of the popular boy groups rn. Rap memebers tend to be the most influential in the group (in my opinion) a group compairable i think is Enhypen. Focus on dance and performance, then vocals then rap when it happens. There is no rapper in enhypen, they have made it work for them because of their music style but we dont know ZB1s music style yet. Vocals I'm not too worried about, Hao and Taerae and excellent, Hanbin has been shown to hold down as a main vocalist as well. Having someone like Seungeon would have been an incredible boon for the group vocally but I think they will be okay as long as they step it up. Dance is fine lol I'm not worried. I am just really hoping their music will be good. I'm not going to talk about the members themselves. I'm happy about some, less so for others but they are a group now so I'm here to support them all. Also I am all for giving these boys a break from the camera but I would also like a post documentry/reality show series? Kinda like Enhypen&hi? What happens after for them. Let's continue supporting the trainees who didn't debut! I have my eyes on so many and will follow them wherever they go!

Taraja

As someone with Park Hanbin as their one pick I can't say I'm not at least a bit sad. However Gunwook was a close second for me and I can't express the amount of happiness I felt hearing Minhyun call his name. I told my friend with whom I watched this final live that no matter what I would be happy with the top 9, but that also no matter what I would be sad about those who didn't make it. This truely is what happened. I will absolutely support ZeroBaseOne and I hope they with have a succesful debut.

Audrey

There is a really funny BTS camera that caught the staff telling Hao and Hanbin to separate but they ignored them lol I agree tho I think they genuinely became really close and I love to see that healthy connection and competition between them.

cynthia li

Hahaha yeah I saw that! Also the many instances of the members not listening to staff throughout the finale night. I know they're going to be chaotic af

Audrey

GyuVin and his chair killed me I swear! I am so excited for the variety content from them. I just know they are going to be a mess in the best way

Haruka

Oh PD, at least 4 of them known to have tattoos :D Ricky, Jiwoong, Matthew and Hanbin. Hanbin's are at VERY visible places as well :D I'm so sorry for Jay and Keita. Jay was number 10. He could've debut with a bit more votes.

Anthony

I got into Kpop when X1 debuted and immediately watched produce X101 to catch up and eventually fell down the rabbit hole. It was during the worst period of my life and it really provided an escape for me. The way things ended with X1, especially considering they officially disbanded on my birthday :'(, really turned me off of survival shows. Boy's Planet was the first survival show I've really watched and been invested in since then and damn is it painful to watch in real time when you don't already know the lineup. Gunwook and Keita were my top 2 picks so watching the finale was the ultimate bittersweet feeling. Honestly Keita not making it was a gut punch considering I feel as if was one of the most talented guys there and the only reason he didn't make it was because of factors outside of his control and had nothing to do with his talent cough his height cough. Eventually I'll get over it and hopefully ZB1 comes out strong with their debut in a couple months. The lineup is really balanced and strong and now its just down to working with the right producers and finding the right songs!

Neeko

I'm upset Jay didn't make the debut team but knowing that my guy can SANG and play instruments ; im not worried about his future whatsoever!

Eces24312

Wrote most of this on another BP finale reaction, but it still stands for me; While I was DEVESTATED while watching - after having a good think about it I'm actually really, really happy that Jongwoo and Jay didn't debut in this lineup. The hate they both received before the final and the toxicity of the current fandom is the most disgusting display of "fan activity" I have ever had the displeasure of seeing, and I honestly fear the backlash each of them would have gotten. As a Jongwoo 1-pick, watching fans tear down his character based on mistranslations and purposeful spreading of misinformation and seeing how people on bptwt STILL tear him down now, even if he did not make it, is actually breaking my heart, and I'm so happy he seems to have good people around him. The treatment he recieved towards the end was inexcusable, and I'm just so happy to see him continue to work on his craft and hone his talents while hanging out with people who care for him. I will not be following the group - the last few weeks on bptwt ruined the fandom and (unfortunately) some of the debuting trainees for me (even though I know I shouldn't let the fans ruin the idols - I just can't help it), BUT I will be following and anticipating the future projects of especially Jongwoo, Keita, Jay and Phanbin 💕

Celina Chhay

i think what makes boys planet so special for so many people is exactly what you said about gunwook. i feel that way about zhang hao - for hte past three months, he's really been my motivation to pull myself together and get things done. although of course, this level of connection and love and support for an idol can occur between any idol and any fan, i think that boys planet had so many people that were really inspiring in a time of hardship for lots of others. i'm not quite sure where i would be right now if it hadn't been for zhang hao, who has quite literally been holding my mental health together for the past three months. kpop is something that is so special in how it unifies us, and has changed so many peoples lives.

Fai

While Jiwoong was my one pick and the reason I started watching Boys Planet in the first place, I voted for Gunwook and Jongwoo the entire show until one pick so I really related to your feelings watching the finale. When they called Gunwook’s name I was so damn happy omg. Also, I’m the same in that this is the only idol survival show I’ve ever been able to finish let alone keep up with while it was airing bc I fell in love with all the boys. Originally I was just going to watch the performances and vote for Jiwoong since I was his fan from his acting, but then I watched the first couple of episodes in full with you and then it was no turning back and now these boys mean so much to me and I’m so happy with the line-up. Now I just pray to GOD their music and just general production is good. But yeah, other than BTS, Boys Planet has been what’s keeping me happy these days, so I’m very thankful for this show and getting to know these nine boys, as well as all the amazing trainees who sadly didn’t make it. It’s been an amazing ride that has really touched my heart in ways I never thought one of these shows could tbh.

Wiktor

This season just proved my opinions right. ''If you are highlighted in the first 1-2 episodes you debut''. Everyone in the lineup of Zb1 and 8/9 of Kep1er were all the ''aired and highlighted'' trainees in the audition stage. I think that you need to gain fans from the first two episodes if you want to debut. Everyone who got story arc later on, didn't debut as they only got highlighted after 3+ish episodes where people had already chosen their 1-pick favourites.

Wiktor

YueHua is the real winner of Boys Planet. The STOCKS of YueHua went up MASSSIVELY after the finale. After ZB1 whatever YueHua does with Hao,Ricky,Yujin,Gyuvin... if they promote them well... we could have a male IVE moment. - At the same time... YueHua could just buy out the other 5 contracts or collab with WakeOne/MNET to keep ZB1 active. Hanbins company is so small and in alot of controversy rn. Jiwoong is an independent trainee so they can sign him, TaeRae is with WakeOne and the only issue would be Gunwook with Jellyfish and Matthew with MNH but MNH aren't gonna do anything with him anyway, they didnt debut him with their last rookie this year 8turns. HOWEVER it's not impossible. I would like YUEHUA to buy them out as 9 and potentially just add Seongeon (Main Vocal) and possibly Ollie if he improves by then and make them 11.

Wiktor

Last opinion. I'm atheist but I will pray.. for WAKEONE to do something with their trainees. For goodness sake, they have : Haruto, Woongki, Anthonny, Min, Park Hanbin, Lee Junghyeon, Mun Junhyung, Oh Seungmin - they need to debut them together ASAP. They also have the opportunity to sign lee Seunghwan and Wumuti with them too... likeeee this company fumbles the bag A LOT. but MY GOD if they fumble THIS ONE... I will give up hope with them.

Neeko

I'm not a photocard guy but I plan on getting EVERY photocard that Gunwook and Gyuvin release lolol. Such a great finale!

Jade

Stop don't plant this idea in my head 😭 now I'm gonna be disappointed if we get anything else. But I honestly hope YueHua at least pick Hanbin up! He's half Korean half YueHua at this point, and Haobin + 2bin being separated is killing me

Oligom

omg im not a believer either but i think even im gonna pray for that to happen too

Wiktor

I feel the same way. If YueHua is to pull a BIG MONEY move. Buying Hanbins contract after is the smartest thing they can do. Potentially even JiWoong getting signed. Since he is only signed to an independent acting agency. Not an idol one.

Sea

I keep replaying your reactions to Gunwook haha, his comments for Junhyeon make me tear up everytime. and I was glad to see how more relaxed you were throughout the rest of the announcements. And I know you must have been so stressed, but hearing you say "its over" right before they announced Gunwook really made the reveal more satisfying in a way. I do agree with your "joke"(?) that they should've just made an 18 member group, if they're disbanding in 2 years anyway, there was just too much talent to lose. Seungeon in particular, I fell in love with his vocals (I know he wanted Hot Summer but wow his voice in Jelly Pop was perfection), so I hope we see more from him, and everyone else of course. And I won't lie, you saying it depends on how they're produce made me concerned for ZB1 for the first time...there's just too much talent in the final lineup to be wasted on potential mismanagement/poor direction/lack of promotion, so I just hope for the best.

nia

ouch these comments about matthew…really sad u can’t see his determination or what you’re calling the "elite" feeling the other members have and he doesn’t in your opinion, i feel like if u rewatch the kill this love stage maybe you’d see how he matches the group really well, yes he has a very cute aura to him but out of the lineup imho hes THE master of facial expression and stage presence and its defo his strong suit along with his dancing, also what you said about his confidence its no wonder it went down since he has been getting lashings on every corner of the internet both internationally and in korea for almost two months now 🫤 he even said during the last elimination that he thought he wasn’t making the top9 thats how bad it was, but anyway personally im really happy about the lineup and so excited for the debut! idk if u saw but it’s planned for july, i hope if they release some variety in the meantime before debut you’ll check it out here as well :)

FroggyMuds

I really feel what you said about gunwook and what he means to you. I personally have felt that way almost this whole show about jiwoong, but it really only grew as we saw more of him in about ep 3 or 4. I personally find him so incredibly inspirational with everything he's been through since the start of his career, yet he's so kindhearted and cares so much about everyone around him. and he's been a person of incredible comfort for me since I discovered him on this show. I personally struggle to find passion for a lot of things in life, mental health is a bitch but this show really meant a lot to me. I found it extremely inspirational how much the people on this show want it and how hard they work for their dreams.

Still not over TW1NK being a potential name MNET was considering for the final line-up name. ZEROBASEONE means ''TOP and BOTTOM'' from the 0 - 1 abbreviation, so it's still so funny to me, after the entire show just queer-baited a lot. Felt fitting and more subtle than TW1NK but could you imagine... 😂💀 Personally the name is such a bad name to pronounce, its length and just doesn't roll off the tongue well and 'ZB1' looks very... nugu name to me. - COSM1X or ASTR1X who where the runner up names, should've been picked imo.

billie27

Thank you for posting BP today 🫶🏻 I didn't expect my two faves to make it to the final lineup so it was very emotional (Ricky / Gunwook) but I'm pretty satisfied with the whole group overall. Although I'm still sad for P. hanbin, and Junhyeon, I really hope they'll still be able to debut in the future. For Hui and Keita I hope they managed to gain enough popularity for them to return to their respective group and resume activities. About the groupe name I personally really dislike it 😭 it sound like a name Elon Musk would gave to his kids lol or like a spaceship. It made me appreciate Kep1er group name even more. Hopefully i'll get used to it in the future Also about the subreddit that you've read.. Really don't take it to much to heart, like you said people are just ignorant, and they'll keep being ignorant, I personally gave up about what people may think of Kpop or certain subjects in general, but it may be a mistake on my end.

tamkan

gutted Keita and Park Han Bin not making it but at least Gun Wook is there!!!

Alena

Jongwoo was my one-pick but I feel the most sad for Park Hanbin. If anyone truly deserved to debut it was him. He worked so hard and the chance was so close and realistically possible that I think he let himself believe it could happen. And it was so sad him being crushed when it didn't. I hope wakeone does something with him, and we get to see more.

Liv

ITS JUST HITTING ME NOW THAT BOYS PLANET BEING OVER MEANS THERES A TICKING TIME BOMB ON KEP1ER OH NOOOOO

Alena

Jongwoo is on instagram (@belllrain) if you want to keep up with him there. So far he's released a snippet of a demo he recorded with Keita back in january, a dance cover of En Guarde congratulating Gunwook on debuting (your two sons!), and several videos of him and Seunghwan covering the Hot Summer choreo. (Truly his body control is insane!) While I have full confidence in Jongwoo as a performer and unique personality, and I don't think he is giving up just yet, I am scared. I have accepted that it was best for him to not debut with ZB1 as the massive hate trend would have followed him there and gotten so much worse. Probably on par if not more so than what Bahiyyih has suffered through. However, he is an independent trainee, an 00liner (and so older than the age range most companies are looking for in idol trainees), has 2 quite large tattoos, and has been the target of so much unwarranted hate (probably 2nd after jay) just because he shot up and had threatened the rankings of some of the gp's favourite bp trainees. All that makes me really concerned about a if a company dares to pick him up. He's undoubtedly more than talented enough, and I hope that something good happens for him soon. In better news, his instagram has grown immensely and I hope he feels loved and supported seeing all the likes and comments on his posts.

i feel like it’s going to take me awhile before i can rewatch the episodes again bc it caused a lot of stress.. only 1 out of my 4 non-guaranteed picks made it. (phanbin, jay, gunwook, junhyeon) Keita i for sure thought was guaranteed but it didn’t end up that way.. honestly if they did the top 12 it would’ve been perfect. i’m most devastated about park hanbin. every time he performed it reminded me of San or just Ateez in general. i really hope wakeone doesn’t let his talent go to waste bc he has SO much more potential

Céline Verhaeghe

i'm pretty this is not the place to put this but I do know Jay has a youtube channel, so that may be 1 way to follow his journey further if he plans on using it. Wumuti also has one as well and he's been serving us. Also I think Wumuti is trending on tiktok with his now 'signature dance move' from Zoom. A lot of the trainees are actually quite active on instagram as well. And I heard there is a petition going round for the other 9 members to be put in a temporary group also just like in the wanne one era where we got jbj95 and such. Just wanted to mention this ;)

Zhang Hao avenged Xiaoting thats all I'm saying, seeing her so happy for him made me bawl my eyes out. Boy also made history. Not only is he the first foreigner to win an mnet survival show, he's also the first original center (even if this time they had two centers) to keep his position. He deserves this so much after placing first in every single mission and bringing his team to victory each time. Truly an ace on top of being an incredibly humble and caring person I'm so happy for him. When it comes to Hanbin I feel like a weight has been lifted off his shoulders. The forever P01 position must have been really heavy especially considering no one ever ranked first that much before. I'm sure he felt disappointed about not keeping it, as anyone would, but I could also see how genuinely happy he was for Hao. Considering what happened during GP999 with Xiaoting both of them must have been really worried Hao would not make the cut. I feel like Hanbin was more relieved they could actually debut together than anything lmfao I really love these two so much their relationship is so heartwarming. About the line-up I could not be more happy. I agree with you about Matthew tho, he does feel a bit out of place and I do believe it has to do with him growing up in Canada. He's just not there yet mentally speaking but I'm sure it'll get better. This is such a crazy team they might even be the best line-up coming out of an mnet survival show like they're crazy CRAZY like !!! I'm insanely excited for what's to come. I've seen many people say this and I feel the same way : I have not felt this way about a kpop group in such a long time. I have not felt that spark in literal years. It's such a weird undescribable feeling and my only wish is for WakeOne to not fuck shit up.

Calida

OMG YES! I follow both channels as well and was so shook when I saw Wumuti's dance cover to Over Me! I literally need to see both of them debut

Winter Rian ~

I'm still not over the fact that PHanbin wasn't able to make it. Everybody acknowledged him, be it the other contestants or the masters. You could see how much he would have deserved to debut in the group. He was very hard on himself after not making it and he was really devestated. But ultimately I had a feeling it would be this way. He never was able to place in the top9 during the show so I just thought that there are many other trainees that were just too popular from the very beginning. I really really hope some big label can pick him up from the wakeone dungeon and debut him. In the end I think he deserves to be the center of his own group, that's how good I think he is. He just needs to debut before people forget about this talented beautiful man. That said, I'm absolutely satisfied with the general line up. Ricky surprised me but I wasn't shocked. In general, the entirety of the 18 contestants all are so good that they could've debuted here and I wouldn't have complained. I don't think there ever was such a strong line up for the finale. I really think ZB1 is going to be huge and I hope that they have a STRONG debut song. Honestly Jelly Pop is that song from the show, it's just so good that it's on repeat for me since it's release. I never knew Gunwook would fit this concept so fucking much, he was SHINING. Let this man sing more I know he can. I really hope the debut isn't going to be your typical generic boy group song. I would love something fresh, bright and catchy like Jelly Pop but in the end I think no matter what they debut with, people will love it. They can serve me what they want I know it'll be insane with this lineup.

vividollz

gunwook’s speech is probably the one i keep coming back to the most it’s equal parts so so joyous and devastating. i was a huge dog union lover (gunwook gyuvin junhyeon) so that little moment of him calling out gyuvin made me so so so happy their friendship is so sweet. and then right after they followed it up with calling out for junhyeon and God that whole moment made me sob so hard……. gunwook saying that he would’ve been happy if their friendship was all he took from the experience and finally crying once he addresses junhyeon oh it was truly so bad for me. that entire morning after that finale was just spent streaming junhyeon’s ost (hello stranger for those who r curious his voice is so so beautiful). i liked so many of these trainees and i was going to be sad no matter who didn’t get in (keita and phanbin especially hurt they were in my top 4) but this group is so fucking crazy that i can’t even be that upset (besides the mentors seem very inclined in helping those two especially so i have a lot of hope for their future)

tanasia

jebiwon is way better than zerobaseone come on

vividollz

sorry this is a lot of borderline incoherent rambling this show has been so significant for me. zhanghao has always been my one pick through the entire show (with hanbin as a very strong second) so seeing him get that 1st place felt so triumphant. first global center and first chinese center is such a historic achievement especially considering all the xenophobia and sinophobia that always comes with these shows and i’m just so so proud of him — cannot wait for that solo <333

vividollz

okay last one i promise. zhanghao and hanbin r both so dear to me and one of my favorite parts of this whole show has been seeing their friendship bloom. it feels so poetic that they’ve been the two centerz throughout the show and are the final top 2 now. seeing their relationship grow from strangers to two people who constantly push each other to be better and are always so so proud and supportive of each other has been so heartwarming. this finale was really sweet in that regard — them immediately going to comfort each other once they were announced as the candidates was and hanbin immediately congratulating hao, to the point that he was the one who had tell hao himself that he won and So Much More god there’s so much content of these two being sweet and supportive towards each other from that finale. hanbin especially i’m so just enchanted by. i can’t imagine how disappointing it must have felt to only drop down right at the very end but that entire night he didn’t show any of that and just seemed so genuinely proud of hao’s achievement god these two’s relationship is something so special.

rockthekazb0t

Idk if you want to know the bottom 9's ranking/points breakdown (because, tbh, some of them *hurt*) since they didn't release them during broadcast but here they are: [Rank 10 - 18] 10 - Jay 1,080,505 11 - Park Hanbin 1,076,065 12 - Keita 1,029,999 13 - Lee Hoetaek 935,254 14 - Kum Junhyeon 848,986 15 - Lee Jeonghyeon 718,706 16 - Yoo Seungeon 613,963 17 - Na Kamden 601,198 18 - Yoon Jongwoo 557,811 Keita's hurt me the most, because at the last elimination in ep11, he was actually ranked *FIRST* globally (... and 17th domestically 💀). What I heard happened in the finale was that the Japanese voters - which a lot of people expected to vote for him - actually mostly split between Matthew and Gunwook. Apparently they have big fan bases there!

Ava Chen

I'm also really worried for Jay. This isn't even his first survival show. He was a contestant in Under19 a few years ago, but got eliminated. I fell in love with his voice on that show, and I've been rooting for him ever since, but damn, TENTH PLACE FOR MY BOY WITH LIKE NO KOREAN SUPPORT.

tanasia

jiwoong KNEW it was him lol

Amanda Araujo

YEAA GUNWOOK FUCKING DID IT!!! i feel you so much PD when I was watching it live I was so stressed out after it went past 6th because at that point i was thinking his only chance was 9th place so the way I SCREAMMED when his name was called you have no idea and i was sad for jay, jongwoo and keita but im pretty happy with this lineup overall too almost all of my top9 made it except for jay and jongwoo tbh im still not convinced about gyuvin but im not mad about him making it either bc i truly feel like at that point all 18 trainees deserved to debut, i also im concerned about jay since it's his second time trying to debut too but i really hope he won't give up bc i really think kpop needs a voice like his specially this next generation and man i was so shocked zhanghao got first place but so happy it's kinda poetic the fact that he was always second and in the finals he went to first not to mention the fact that he is the first non korean to win that spot on a survival show my boy getting revenge for xiaoting we love to seee!! and yeah I cried so much during almost everyone's speeches they all deserved and it was so heartwarming to see them so happy specially my boys gunwook and matthew like the way they weren't even believing it and didn't know what to say was so cute too ah im so happy and so invested i can't wait for their debut 🤧

Angela

if you could mix jelly pop and hot summer together i think it would be amazing for this group

Amanda Araujo

BTW I'm happy i found someone who agrees with me about the name because ive only seen people talking about how zb1 is better and cuter than zerobaseone but bro i think it's so ugly like i don't love zerobaseone either its such a long ass name and it doesn't really makes sense for me too but at least it sounds cooler than zb1 and the logo is stylized really nice as well so it will take me sometime but i can dig zerobaseone as for zb1 i think it will always be ugly to me lmao

Izak

i've been coming to terms with the line up for some days know so i won't re say my opinions but as a Jay one pick and someone who has been supporting keita since YG treasure box my heart still aches depsite 7/9 of my line up making it. imo the best thing about this final was Hao and Hanbin. I think after matthew was announced for 3rd, they expected Yujin to be third and Hao to be 9th or not debut and after watching literally 30 different angles of p01 candidate reveal I am 98% sure Hanbin was not crying for himself he was crying because he would debut at the top with Hao, this is the first time in history the candidates have hugged like that and entered each others one shots and Hanbin was gripping Hao very tight and as soon as he saw both their faces he let out a massive sigh of relief. Hao nuzzling into Hanbin's neck too, platonic or more it's obvious to all of us that they truly love each other a lot. Again making history despite the staff being seen telling them not to they went up to the seats holding hands together as p01 p02, in the fancams u can see Hanbin initially refuse the suggestion of going up together but he agrees after Hao insists on sharing the moment. Throughout the entire final they were holding hands any chance they could and it just makes me tear up thinking about how 2 people from entirely different countries met on this show by chance were K01 and G01 and found they had so much in common and grew to love and care for each other so dearly, it's seriously just like the concept of here I am and the lyrics of their bridge, i don't usually believe in fate and destiny but for them I can truly say that the stars aligned for them to meet on this show and debut together at the top. Their bond and dynamic is honestly the best thing to come out of this show for me. another thing is that Yuehua has 4 trainees in thsi line up and not one of the trainees have a group they previously debuted in to return to, if ZB1 end up being mega famous ( which is likely) I truly think there is chance not that their contract will just be extended but that Yuehua will try to buy the group and all the members from their companies and make them permanent. I would honestly love that and i'm praying for it

pikachu

Gunwook being at the top in Japanese votes is kinda insane

lila22

im fine with the line up. im mostly sad for jay, jongwoo, hui and keita. hui and keita the most, they looked so sad (habin as well) i was the saddest about hui. he was the big talk of the start of the show, he was the main focus. he got critizied a lot of times , and got a lot of dumb hate cause of his age. he is a little older and wanted the chance to get in a group who is more popular. many people are like "it would have been weird if he would be in the group since he is older", and "it would be akward with the younger people". but he was so close with the other guys, and fit perfectly (which makes it even more sad) I saw a couple clips of the finale where hui and the other guys were crying. (mostly gyuvin, since he and hui were the closest) like gyuvin looked like he had a mental breakdown cause hui didnt make it. the other guys were like his friends/sons. and its so hart to see them beeing seperated. its also a little weird that a kinda popular guy like hui (he is really popular but also underated, the same with pentagon as a group) already idol so talented, didnt make it under mostly trainess. he is the most talented on in the show, but most people were like "he already has a group" and didnt voted for him. i hope more people are gonna check out pantagon.and keita is a trainee for 10 years and always was under the top 9. its just sad, that he didnt make it.i hope they all have insta, so that i can follow the guys in the future

珍珠milktea

I resonate SO much with what you said at the end here. My brother judges me so much about my love for kpop and kdramas. Its not my only big interest, but my brother is always like "oh wow you only listen to korean music and you dont even understand it, you're a koreaboo" first of all, i can understand it, there are things called lyric translators (that are usually accurate enough).I'm not sure why he's like that but most likely what you said about how some people hate on things they dont even understand and just because lots of people like it. And to be lumped with such a stigmatized group of "fans", koreaboos, just like that, it gets on my nerves. Its like he thinks I am trying to become korean or something. I am not. I am just enjoying the music (mainly skz hehe), hilarious memes, variety show content, wholesome moments that fill me with serotonin, celebrations at award shows, kdramas and survival shows that make me cry, etc. There is so much culture and korean I have learned throughout these past 2 years as well. This whole journey has also made me want to learn chinese again (my mother's native tongue). I will keep supporting these talented hardworking young people and will continue gaining the energy that their music gives me, whether people, like my brother, judge me or not. And honestly, to those who dont at least try to listen to korean music, they are heavily missing out. Kpop has so much to offer in terms of music video concepts and video editing and quality, many many music genres, etc. I want to show my brother more kpop now, just to bother him and eventually convert him. Maybe bring him to a stray kids concert one day (I've never been to one, waiting in Canada T_T)

Pika Pika

Loveeeed your rant at the end.

Anonymous

everytime you mentioned Park Han Bin being in the final lineup and deserved to debut, my heart broke

Shishka

The fact that the whole finale was SO STACKED with talent its insane to me. All 18 could have debut and there would be no complaints from me. I think Matthew will grow and worst case scenario he will take small parts for intense songs and carry the fun concept. I think hes more than good enough for the task. Im super sad for Keita (my pick) and Phanbin, but Gunwook was my 2nd pick so Im giga happy for it. The finale was super exciting for me, especially witnessing top 2 besties having the biggest moment. Also Hao being 1st is kinda historic haha. Now I just need good music from them! I watched many survival shows but a lot of the groups fall flat for me because Im not jamming. Also regarding tattoos - Ricky had it from the start of the show, just always covered with nude-colored band-aid. Interestingly, there are now plenty in the group! The ones we've seen: Matthew has two (back/shoulder and arm), Hanbin has two (arm and in between his collarbones/base of the neck), Jiwoong has one on the ankle/calf area. There is definitely gonna be some covering for broadcasts haha.

tanasia

oh i gotta disagree on that matthew elite part

mini !

Jiwoong was my original one pick but Jongwoo really got my attention in Back Door and then became my one pick after Home. I voted for him and Jiwoong and rotated Zhang Hao and Gunwook in the 3 pick vote, and eventually chose only him for one pick since I trusted Jiwoong's voters to at least get him in the top 9. I kind of saw Jongwoo not making it but I would of hated myself for not voting him (however I did get scared Jiwoong might not make it either and then I'd be REALLY sad) but I'm actually not mad he didn't make it. I just also hope he doesn't give up; his activity on his Instagram makes me think he will make something out of his experience from this show. I think my feelings for Jongwoo are the closest I've gotten an almost parasocial relationship with an idol/trainee because I felt like I could relate to him so much. It felt like if he can make it I can make it after everything I've failed at as well as feeling alone in everything I do. I still feel like that even though he didn't make the debut here, I think as long as he keeps going I will be inspired by him. Can't wait for the ZB1 debut and to see where the other trainees end up <3

Madina F

Ohh i have to disagree with that whole part about Matthew and that „elite“ feeling 😅 especially Matthew showed how diverse he is with the different concepts and how determined he is with his performances. Even with his cute personality/aura i think you can see how charismatic he is (kill this love) and i personally loved his kill this love and love killa stages

Anonymous

When you talked about Gunwook for the last few minutes, I could totally understand you. It's Park Hanbin for me. It feels like he brought light into my life and opened my eyes, so my heart completely shattered when his name wasn't announced. I was completely convinced he would climb up in the finals, because in my opinion he deserved a spot there the most. And by saying this, I don't mean to disregard other trainees, because everyone was worthy being in the final line-up. Sadly, Hanbin ranked 11th and I won't even try to pretend I didn't cry for the last 5 days haha. But life goes on and I sincerely hope, his dream of becoming an idol comes true. And even if he choses to do something else in life, I will continue to support and be happy for him.

nins

Unpopular opinion: I agree with what you said about Matthew. I do like him as a person and I actually really really like his vocal tone but I think out of all the people in ZB1 he might lack the most versatility? Like he’s obviously good at cute concepts and he is getting better at serious, darker stages but it isn’t to the other’s levels yet. Oddly enough I think Ricky could be the opposite of him, where he’s super good with darker stages but might struggle with lighter stages if he try’s to take it seriously. I’m really interested to see how both of them grow because it feels like they’ve been both put in a box by their fans too, and when they act different than their usual concept it’s usually seen as a “joke” and nothing serious by people outside of their fans (aka unbiased public). They both have a lot of potential, I can’t wait to see them grow.

Mesha ✌︎

keita was my no.1 pick, I don’t think he deserves to be 12th he deserves higher but idk i wish he made it :( at least my 5/7 of my pick made it ❤️

excellen

Man I just wanted to give both of you guys a hug during the elimination part cause I could see both of you were going through it waiting for Gunwook to be called. I was happy that he made it! Also yeah he will probably be the rapper in the group BUT I also don't want him to just rap all the time since I loved his singing so much during Jelly Pop. And also Jelly Pop >>> Hot Summer all the way! Hope they debut with a fresh bright concept like Jelly Pop (not that I don't want them to ever do a more hard hitting concept though). What I didn't expect was Ricky making it since I really thought he was gonna get pushed from the top9 but he got a lot of korean votes from the third elimination. Good for him cause for me it felt that Mnet did not want neither him or Gyuvin in the final group at all, they wanted 2 Yuehuas max and those 2 being Zhang Hao and Yujin. They didn't want to put both of them down completely in a bad light like they did with Daeul or Kristian but just highlighting them enough to go to finals and then fail. But in doing so in the end both got big fandoms to push them into the lineup and by the end of it Mnet just had to accept it. Now about Hui, I say this as a person that finally turned from a casual Pentagon listener to actual fan after seeing Hui here and a person that went to look what was truly going on with the group so as not to speak without fully understanding their situation: I was already kinda of expecting Hui to not make it in the end since he was also receiving a lot of hate because of his age and other stuff and the fandom divided if they should vote for him or not but I think people also exagerated about their possibility of disbandment or that he and Pentagon are doomed if he didn't make it here. I know I said here that I was torn about it too but much more because this is their 7th year and hey it's just like the final rankings of a survival show...you never know what will happen until it actually happens so even for big groups you never know if they will stick together or not. Pentagon is nowhere near CLC's situation when they still get schedules as a group performing in international festivals even when it's just 5 of them. They are focusing more on individual activities right now but it doesn't mean doom and gloom for the group (also a small rant cause kpop fans disregard a lot of idols' individual activities like acting in dramas, musicals or being radio mcs since it's not a full group activity...so many missed out on Kino's solo debut which was a great release). Kino went live a little after it was confirmed that Hui was participating in Boys Planet and he noticed fans were indirectly saying in the comments how they were worried about the future of the group. He went and said in english that he did not understand why the fans were worried like this and that nothing was going to change and that they would always be Pentagon. After that I felt that regardless of what happens to their working relationship with Cube they will always try to be a group and perform as Pentagon. And Hui's letter after he was eliminated here just reassured me. He said that his journey in Boys Planet ended so he's not the trainee Lee Hoetaek anymore and he's back to being the Pentagon member and artist Hui and that he has a lot of sides of him that he couldn't show yet. And the best part is he completed right after this with "It ain't over till is over" reaffirmig one more time that he will fight for Pentagon till the end. Pentagon already has a fan concert in Japan scheduled for next month so I can't wait to finally see most of them back together before more members have to enlist. Also hope that Hui's journey here was not completely in vain and that people that decided to support him here and the ones that just wanted him back to Pentagon actually follow him and give him and his group their suppport now.

alex -_-

Jay and jongwoo have been updating on instagram, they both seem pretty busy already!!! Jongwoo posted some snippets of his song made with Keita of all people, and jay is back in the states I think?

Aether

It's just like you said maybe a year or so ago about Queendom...kpop is empathy. I've watched this episode twice before (this is my third watch) and this one probably gave me the most anxiety just seeing you two so on edge. It's so bittersweet seeing these boys get rewarded and also seeing the other trainees not getting what they deserve as well. I also think Park Hanbin should have debuted, but I don't know who I would trade him with. Jongwoo was also my one pick, and it's sad to see that he's last place, but he seems to already be making progress as an independent trainee/idol. Thank you for your BP reactions it always makes me happy to see you all being invested in this show and getting me invested alongside you. I've had a really shitty last few months and BP has sort of been my glimmer of hope through all of it. Because of your content I get to experience it twice. Thank you.

Stephanie

i was pleasantly surprised to see that his recent tweet has over 100k likes! i really hope wakeone sees how insanely popular he is and debuts him soon or lets him get scouted elsewhere

Irving

I'm still sad because of Jay, and I'm just hoping a big comany take him in, or the company where he is in right now does things right because he has the support, he was literally the 10th place and if this was like produce where 11 debuted he would have debuted...about the line up I'm so happy for matthew he was my second favorite so I will be looking foward to this group, most of my other picks got eliminated so I'm not sure about the line up yet but it will probably grow on me

Julia

This episode was so hard to watch when it was live. I never been so anxious before, even when I watched gp999 I didn’t feel as anxious cause I didn’t root a lot of trainees as much as I did for bp. IMO when I was watching this live, my first thoughts were “this is anyone’s game now, any one of these 18 trainees can debut and I’m fine with it”. Why? Because they all at least wowed me once and showed me their strength/skill where it was THAT HARD to decide the top9 line up. Although I knew the chances of the top9 changes would be low, there was still a chance for the other trainees who never got into the top9. I honestly like this lineup a lot. I would also have to agree with you on Matthew being part of this group. I really do think he deserves to debut, but the image of the group (before they announced him as 3rd & knowing shanbin and zhang hao was gonna be nominated for 1st) I wasnt sure if it gonna fit his type of concept. I am happy for his debut but I’m scared that once they debut, he’s not gonna shine as much and have less parts of they have a darker concept. As you said, this line up is SCARY. They give me a STRONG & POWERFUL vibe, hence having Ricky & Gunwook like you mentioned. But Matthew’s ranking was surprising cause I was really unsure of his debut since his last ranking was 9th so he was probably on edge, and also every time when the camera was showing him on screen he looked SO NERVOUS; but congratulations to his debut! With Jay, I hope someday he does debut with a group where he can shine as the main vocalist, same as Yoo Seung Eon cause he’s been someone I was rooting since his Aju Nice performance. I did have a hunch that once Tae Rae was announced in top9 the chance of any vocalist would be slim since his popularity kept skyrocketing. His performance was more solid and he had quiet of a diversity throughout the show where he did different concept each time. Although I do feel like this group is lacking rappers. Knowing Gunwook could be one, I feel like to make this group more complete, IMO (please no one don’t drag me on this) I think Matthew could of been replaced with either Keita, Jong Woo or Haruto to create a scarier image (or possibly Phanbin with his leadership and skill too). Overall, I’m excited for what ZB1 has in store for their debut and see everyone’s growth, same as well to everyone else who didn’t debut I’ll be keeping an eye out for them now (mostly everyone who were in the artist battle who didn’t make it). Will have to follow Nine.i for Seo Won & Ciipher for Keita since this was my first exposure to them and not knowing they were in a group already. 🫶🏼

Agreed with you 100% on the lack of rappers. I know Ji Woong and some others can carry a flow alright but they don't have any hard hitters besides Gunwook which is a bit disappointing. I was also hoping they'd pick up Jong Woo or Keita, even Phanbin. Honestly I'm still shocked they fumbled so bad on him. Who knows maybe the members will surprise us on the rap after debut.

Dan

All of my picks debuted except for Seungeon…🥹 He would have give so much more power vocally in this group if he debuted. Very Nice, Home, SMN, Jellyfish.. He had majority of lines and killed them every single time. He’s a great vocalist so I hope he does well and succeeds soon in another group🍀 I’m 100% going to stan this group. I LOVE the final lineup. I’m ALL IN to this group from now on.

Violet Joo

The thing I will miss the most with BP is the comments in this patreon. Like I love the show but I also love how heated the comments area is. Even with everyone having different picks and different opinions is so good and satisfying to see everyone respect each other 💜💜💜.

magicatch

I think Mathew Really can pull off the serious concept he did so good during Love Killa And Kill this Love.

Alli

I’ve watched my fair share of survival shows in the past but this is the first time I have ever felt so anxious and passionate about who would make it to the final lineup. This show, these boys, and most importantly my one pick, have managed to make me care about a project group to a level that I didn’t even know I was capable of feeling. Congrats to everyone who made it!! Personally, I like this lineup and I don’t feel like there’s anyone there who didn’t earn their spot in the group. If anything, I just wish there were more spots available for debut because everyone in the top 18 are just that good. We can agree to disagree on this, but I think Matthew is pretty capable of doing more intense/stronger concepts. If I didn’t watch the show and only saw his Kill This Love/Love Killa fancams, I honestly would have NO IDEA that his actual image and personality was super bright and happy. I would agree that he’s generally stronger in brighter concepts but if this group does ultimately end up with a more intense/powerful concept, I think he’d adapt just fine and wouldn’t stick out like a sore thumb. That’s just my opinion but you can feel free to disagree. As for the eliminated trainees, I have hope and faith that they’ll find success outside of this show. Trainees in the past have done it before and there’s no reason they can’t do it again. This is not their end, but their beginning. Fingers crossed that we can see them again soon! All in all, this show has been one hell of a ride and I happily await ZB1’s debut in July! Thank you PD and Blaire for being on this journey with us!💛💛💛💛

Rachael Tie

Jongwoo being an independent trainee, I have high hopes he’ll get picked up by an agency. He updates his instagram pretty regularly, so I’m going to keep an eye on what he gets up to. Hopefully he debuts soon. I’m sad for park hanbin as well. He was amazing, hopefully he can debut under wakeone :)

Sven Lenders

ZEROBASEONE is a name that rolls off the tongue nicely. ZB1, on the other hand, I would pronounce ZB1 as "Zed Bee One" rather than "제베원." Ever since the second round, I felt like I didn't know who would and wouldn't advance to the next round. Very honestly, I felt that half of all the trainees really had a very good chance of debuting (even guys that got eliminated in the first round like Kim Minseoung, Winnie, Haru, Jung Hojin, Min, Hong Keonhee, Han Seobin, ...). Maybe it would be a nice idea to have the trainees cast as in LOUD after they are yellowed or as you pointed out with a one year contract for 99 members and then hold a big scouting event afterwards. Something that bugs me a bit is the fact that Mnet is so stuck old to the 9 debut members, there are actually just too few to be truly outstanding. I also have that feeling with Kep1er, because there are only 9 members it feels like "yet another group". Whereas with X1 and IZ*ONE I thought "This is a powerhouse". In my opinion, they should judge the finals differently. People are allowed to vote until the third elimination, in the finals the Masters determine who is ready to debut, already how many people that may be (Even if that means less than 9 contestants). Then everyone has been able to vote their favorite to the finals and everyone has heard the reason why someone has or has not debuted. I find it strange that Park Hanbin was not allowed to make his debut after winning 3 rounds and receiving the "most improved trainee" award. After all, it is a weak argument to say "we will stick to 9 because that is the number we thought of beforehand". What I am a little afraid of is that like Kep1er, ZEROBASEONE is going to be managed by Wakeone. They themselves already have TO1 under a permanent contract. I hope ZEROBASEONE is going to have a real chance alongside TO1 to achieve success. It would actually be better to create a label just meant to manage this kind of temporary group under (even though six months ago this was a group with a fixed contract) If you haven't heard it yet, A petition is circulating to allow the 9 finalists who did not finish in the debut group to debut in a second group. Think of previous examples like I.O.I had with I.B.I and Wanna One with JBJ. I ask everyone with all my heart to sign this petition, because it would be a mortal sin if all that talent was wasted on a second-tier label that didn't promote them or treated them like trash. So, please take this into consideration. Maybe we can make it come true.:https://www.change.org/p/debut-former-boys-planet-trainees-as-a-temporary-sub-unit?redirect=false Honestly, I don't see a reason why they wouldn't be able to do so. There is definitely lots of demand for these guys to be a group (as of right now 8% of all viewers from the finale, which is quite a lot). From their perspective, I think the company that would debut them could make a lot of money by debuting them together. The guys are passionate enough about making their debut. Just business wise this would be very attractive opportunity for any label If you want to become the new HYBE PD, this might genuinely be the way (in an ideal scenario 😉 )

Okay so my thoughts on the lineup: Jiwoong - I knew he was going to make it, I was just surprised he was so low. I’m genuinely really proud of him for giving the idol industry a second try - it seems like this attempt is going to be much better than the first time 🙏🏻 Gyuvin - I’ll be honest, I wasn’t a massive fan of his for most of the show (I liked him, he just wasn’t one of my picks), but this last episode did it for me. His speech was probably my favorite of the night. I also noticed recently that he’s extremely memeable and will probably be carrying the group in terms of comedy so he’s been climbing ranks pretty quickly since Thursday. Taerae: the sigh of relief I let out when they called his name!! Finally a group that won’t have bad live vocals allegations!! He worked so hard and I’m so proud of him for making it in - I would’ve been pissed if we let a voice like that go.

Emily

Gunwook - the first real shock for me, BUT A VERY WELCOME ONE! I liked Gunwook from the second I saw his PR video and realized he was a Starlight (immediate passage of vibe check in my book) and I was extremely worried he wasn’t getting in BUT PANIC VOTING CLEARLY WORKS!! He’s going to do S O well in this group and I’m so insanely proud of him. Ricky - I was extremely happy to see Ricky this high but I’ll admit this was the moment I lost all hope for Matthew as well. Watching it back tho, he’s really deserving of that spot, especially after how good he did during Over Me. Matthew - MY FUCKING BOY 🥺😭.

Stephanie Dockery

I really think park hanbin , Jongwoo , haruto ,Jay even na kamden should defiantly get put into new groups that will be debuting sometime this year or next year. I really think all of them will debut into group for sure . All trainee’s have shown that are really talented or some may need little more training but I hope go on to make amazing idols in future. I also really hope Nine.I , Pentagon & group that keita is from which is Ciipher will get more recognition form the show . All members really showed talents as vocalist or even all rounder like keita . I’m kinda of glad hui didn’t make and gave other idols who didn’t be in groups in since been idol for long time not saying he didn’t deserve be in group just felt like needs to go back to pentagon . He was amazing leader and role models for these boys but I’m glad came on show to show that don’t need to be 20 or minor to be idol in Kpop industry I give him big thumbs up. As for the members to debut in zerobaseone !! Kim Taerae I honest didn’t expect him to get into group , I was really shocked but I do believe he will be perfect main vocalist for this time . I love his talking voice to so smoothing and his vocals are just really amazing . He also can play guitar so hopefully he will maybe get producer one songs with their producer or at least play guitar for one . Kim ji woong even tho he is actor .. he has Been idol before but not very long since his two groups disbanded for so reason awful / very sad reasons . I’m glad he gotten chance to show his talent especially cuz he defiantly will be one of all rounder since he really good at singing , rapping & dancing . He really good looking which is a plus. Plus I feel he would perfect leader for group along with either sung hanbin or Zhang hao Sung hanbin was amazing talented dancer so I definitely feel like he may be main dancer of group. Zhang Hao getting center position instead sung hanbin , I’m so happy for him cuz he is first non Korean idol to make it as center . I’m very very happy for him , he really musical genius and very talented idol. Plus he will get solo song on album I can’t wait to hear it . Han Yujin is most adorable and cutest maknae of the group. I’m really happy he made in cuz amazing dancer . I love his deeper vocals . Kim Gyu Vin .. he really tall , young & has amazing visuals I feel will fit most concepts that groups going to do . Plus he showed how talented he was in dancing & singing . Park Gun Wook I’m very very excited he made it. I knew he would make it . He so so talented and most defiantly is all rounder of this group not only in singing , dancing , rapper but also in concepts . He does cute & sexy concept very well. He only 18 but is so talented at that age . Seok Matthew is so cute and adorable as well . I really really love his smile . I’m so glad he got debut with best friend Sung Hanbin there friendship is really cute and hope it only grows more beautiful with in this group. Last but not least Ricky he amazing singer . I wished got show it more then singing in show but I hope he will get show it more witching zerobaseone. I don’t really like their name especially shortened version ZB1 I like ZeroBaseOne way better so that’s what I will call them for now . I think members they called for this group really balances each other out I think 🤔!

Emily

Matthew was always my third pick after Haruto and Woonggi, so when neither of them made the finale, I took it upon myself to make sure Matthew would be secured. I voted for him every single day during the last round and when they didn’t call him for 4th I nearly started having a panic attack because I thought it was over. When they called him for third I just started sobbing. I’d felt so emotionally numb from what happened Wednesday that when his name finally got called, it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders and I could finally let it all out. I think he’ll be fine in the group, no matter what the concept is. I actually really liked him in Love Killa so I think he’ll be able to pull off a darker concept. With that being said, I really want this group to have a bright, fun concept (something like Tempest or Seventeen would be amazing) so I’m holding out hope that fun wins.

Emily

HaoBin: Doing these two together because theres no other way I can do it. Zhang Hao just certified himself legendary status in the Produce/Planet hall of fame … i NEVER thought we’d ever see a foreign center, especially not this season with how wonder SHanbin is! Zhang Hao deserved first place without a shadow of a doubt. He has consistently shown how capable he is, not just at being an idol, but being a decent person. That comment you made about him helping everyone was SO true. As for Sung Hanbin … I’m so insanely proud of the person I stan. The fact that he IMMEDIATELY went to hug Zhang Hao after his name got called and looked so genuinely happy for his bestie speaks volumes about the kind of person he is, at least for me. The 1/2 announcement honestly felt like less of a survival show finale and more like a wedding ceremony between these two - them walking up the stairs hand in hand (AND BEING THE FIRST EVER TOP 2 TO DO THAT??) made me cry even harder. Han Yujin: I’ll be honest, I was rooting for Keita. But I’m okay with him being there. While I think he’s a bit young, he is extremely talented and seems sweet.

I feel you so bad there PD when you said you had hard time breathing when Gun Wooks name wasn't being called... You can never know what's going to happen and especially since you've been rooting for him since the start. I had the same feeling when I watched this live and my 1 pick was Zhang hao, I was pretty certain he would be in top 2, but we all know what happened to Xiao Ting in Kep1er so I also had a very hard time breathing. When you said you couldn't focus fully before Gun Wook was called, I literally thought that's me! I felt the exact same way with Hao. Thank you for the journey though PD it was a pleasure watching this show and your reactions <3

Irie

Wow what an amazing journey this has been. Thank you PD and Blaire for all the long hours it took for you guys to film this series. It has been a pleasure watching along with you guys. I cannot wait to see ZB1’s shining future (especially since our Gunwook made it)!!! With that being said, in the future, another variety show you might enjoy watching is “Peak Time.” It’s a really great show and it has an amazing concept. I truly believe you both would like it!

Sven Lenders

For the people who haven't seen it yet, Redstart ENM will be debuing their first boy group this year. If you don't know the label, let me tell you, it's Kum Junhyeon, Kim Minseoung, Hong Keonhee and Choi Woojin's label.

Rey

Thank you for watching boys planet PD. I really loved your reactions! I'm a pretty light fan of Boys planet though. I started watching this show alongside you when you started posting the episodes. personally my picks would have been very different. But I'm not mad at these. I was there during the live and the comments were horrendous. It was honestly so sad seeing all the puking, angry, sad etc. emojis during the member announcement. Even commenting things like "rigged" just because of the balance of members being too korean member sided, or if their favs were not chosen. I understand being sad that your pick wasn't there, but even then to bring the other members down was so sad to see. Like even if you disagree with the picks, people shouldnt be toxic.

Phion

What a show, what a line-up. I have a lot to say but I feel like it will be TLDR... I would like to share some things that are on my mind right now. I did watch the show live. I was voting for Jongwoo and gave all my votes to him but I am not mad because I believe every 18 of them that went to the final is deserving. I have at least put all of the members on the list before except for Gyuvin. I don't know why but I started to know him and like him more after the show. I feel like Mnet did not do a great job on representing him as a person. Hanbin looks so relieved to have place second. I guess he was in a lot of pressure. Zhang Hao definitely deserves it. He is a musical prodigy and he is a great person over all. What seemed interesting to me about Hanbin and Hao is that these two come from a background where they already experienced social lives. And it is great that they could bring more variety and insight on life to the group. Next, it was interesting that there were 12 people on K group that have debuted before and it was only Jiwoong that made it. I have seen speculation on why there were so many people who were trying to redebut through the show. 1. The pool for male idols have been getting shallow. I won't discuss it here but it seemed like an interesting matter. 2. Pertaining to 1, it might be why Mnet put this K vs G so that they could pull more contestants onto the show. I am also curious what would become of this group after the 2 and a half years. Can Hybe or Yuehwa buy the group and debut them as a whole? That seems too farfetched but it is a happy speculation nonetheless. I also wish good luck to all the contestants who have been eliminated. I wish Wakeone(or Redstart) could gather up their trainees and more to have a super group. Pick up Jongwoo, Jay, Wumuti, and Guanjui.

Phion

Oh right. One more thing as a side note. Since you are putting Gunwook as your bias. Are you going to react to the Wild Idol? I haven't watched it so I don't know how good it is.

nins

I watched Wild Idol and I gotta recommend it. Gunwook doesn't shine until a few episodes in but Kamden is there and he's honestly kinda funny during the first few episodes. The show centers around basically putting a bunch of contestants in the middle of the woods for a few months and making them first participate in physical challenges to rank them based on their endurance and strength, things that are important as an idol. Then it shifts after that into doing missions based on rap, dance, and singing, where every trainee's skills are assessed by very important and legendary industry professionals (think Hyoyeon from Girl's Generation, Sunggkyu from Infinite, Tiger JK, Ph-1 again lol, and others). Honestly kinda the best survival show to show the trainee's skillset because some of the missions is based just on one skill. If you're one of the best for that one skill you get points. There is also a mission about how to be photogenic/how to model for magazines and you can get points from that. I do want to warn there is like a minute segment that is very uncomfortable because for one of the photoshoot missions they had Gunwook, who was only 16 at the time, pose shirtless so very much yikes. There are a few more physical challenges sprinkled in but it takes a backburner and then like performances are made. There are a lot of idols from unknown or failed idol groups there so you might recognize a few people. A lot of talented people as well so you're bound to grow attached to some outside of Gunwook or Kamden. Besides that uncomfy Gunwook photoshoot I think the show is generally really good and worth the watch.

Anonymous

I am beyond happy with this group. They’re going to be so special. I was crying with you. I didn’t think I could be this invested in a group after so long. All these guys are SO talented and have personality + the balance is great. Couldn’t have said it better than you.

Sarah 세라

Beautiful speech at the end PD. I’m on older kpop fan, over the years I realized that we feel the same way about many idols so I’m not surprised at all by how much you support Gunwook like I do. He is young but so driven, dedicated and passionate about what he does. It really is so admirable and inspiring, even for me being 10 years older than him. Supported him since the beginning and I am thankful that he is now together with 8 other wonderful boys who will set a new standard for the 5th generation of kpop. This is most likely the last group I will stan and I look forward to going on this zerobaseone journey over the next 2.5 years with you PD ❤️

i commented already when you first posted this, but everyday i have more and more thoughts about this group/show. i never watched a survival show while it was ongoing. the closest was gp999, which i started watching when ep 9 or 10 came out and i didn’t catch up in time to vote or watch anything live. so i was all in with this show. i talked about boys planet every day with my roommate, who didn’t watch the show but had enough context from watching clips and some of the performances. i voted everyday. i got really attached to a lot of these trainees and i’m waiting for so many of the eliminated guys to debut. while i had some top picks (including a pretty consistent top 5-6) and a general idea of who i wanted, i could never pick a top 9. by the time the boys were narrowed down to 18, i realized any of them could debut and i would be happy. my 1-pick was zhang hao. i started voting during the 6-pick and he’s been on my list since then thanks to ktl, and i liked him more and more as the show went on. my top 3 by the end were zhang hao, sung hanbin and gunwook. i voted for gunwook for the first half of the voting period, then switched to zhang hao because i got worried he would drop (something that a lot of zhang hao fans were worried about, and clearly hao and hanbin were stressed themselves). i was rooting for those 3, matthew, tae rae, keita (i was disappointed but not surprised with him), and jiwoong. ricky and yujin were some of my top 9 candidates, and i fully expected gyubin and yujin to make it. gyubin wasn’t necessarily one of my picks, but i see why he made it and i know i’m gonna really like him. actually, his speech at the finale made me like him so much. i think a lot of people are starting to like him even more AFTER the show lmao. the more i see clips from the finale and fan edits, rewatch parts of the show, etc, the more i love the final lineup. i’ve even warmed up to the name lol (even if they’re still bep1er in my heart).

Isabella N.

i’m making this a separate comment because i love them: haobin. lol. their reactions are so wholesome. you could see the stress in their faces during some of the last ranking announcements, and then the relief when they were shown on screen together. hanbin was pretty much confirmed for debut for a while and zhang hao saying he didn’t expect to be a first place candidate. hanbin crying definitely seemed to be due to realizing they would debute TOGETHER. and the hug plus the neck thing hao did?? if y’all somehow haven’t seen the MILLIONS of different angles posted by fans, just know it’s everywhere and it looks like hao is kissing/nuzzling his neck. and i’ll never be over their individual reactions to hao winning. the way hao doesn’t even realize at first and was already turning to congratulate hanbin vs hanbin grinning so widely and hugging hao, having to tell him he won. hao crying during his speech, them holding hands, the “it suits you” from hanbin making hao sob. those 2 are true soulmates. it’s really not our business what the nature of their relationship is, but we can see they love and care for each other so so much. they’re besties and i rarely believe in fate, but i do think fate brought both haobin and the entire group together on this show. and seeing 2 people (3 actually, with jiwoong) who are so connected to the queer community debut as the top members of this group makes me so emotional. whether or not they’re queer (i think y’all can figure out my opinion on that subject, but again they don’t owe us anything and i never expect any kind of coming out), they definitely represent something to people and i’m sure they’re both smart and conscious enough to know that. i normally wouldn’t be saying this much about the topic online, but i think there’s no better place than PD’s channel, “form of therapy”, to talk about my gay little feelings for my favorite fruity-coded pair lol. boys planet as a show has strangely done so much for the kpop queer community? an mnet show? wild af. PD talked about this before, but damn. we really got cha woonggi, seowon, haruto, jiwoong, sung hanbin and zhang hao, just to name the most obvious examples. and it’s true, the 3 that made it had to tone down a lot of their irl personalities (ESPECIALLY sung hanbin, he’s truly Mother, but he made himself into model student school president on bp lol). but i’m eagerly waiting for them (and the group as a whole, especially someone like ricky 👀) to unleash the aspects of themselves they’ve been kinda pushing down. anyway, rant over, but i would be interested to read anyone else’s thoughts 🫶

cynthia li

I know you'll be having a break soon, and I hope its a lovely one! When you come back, I was wondering if you'd be down to film a reaction to the ZB1 boys commentary on the show? It's uploaded as episode 13 on viki. It's so fun and really cool to see their personalities outside the survival show environment. Their synergy is already soooo good!

Madina F

Omg yes😂😂they are already chaotic and i loved this episode. I can’t wait for their variety show🫶🏼

Ivy

was also gonna comment ab this!! it was so nice to see their chemistry as a group + more personalities. safe to say I have a new bias now 😭

Mac

PD - just a heads up that there is a special "episode 13" of Boys Planet, which includes an interview and commentary on the show from the boys who debuted, Hanbyul and Lip J

crys

PD! there’s an episode 13 on viki with the final debut group and u can see their chemistry and personalities there! ricky and gunwook were really funny there

crys

woah! zhanghao has made history being the first foreign center on a mnet survival show!! he REALLY deserves it, i’m so proud of him! hao and hanbin are SUPER close btw, and in some videos people who attended posted or if you look closely you can see hanbin is really proud of hao. their bond is sooo cute. i think at one point their main goal became to debut together on boys planet, they were so happy when they both appeared for 1st place candidates and the angle in the episode doesnt actually show but hao was kissing hanbins neck and its also the first time tbe candidates are on each others screen since they were hugging😭 and yes kuanrui and zhang hao are really close! he really broke down crying when zhanghao got 1st, theyve been best friends since before the show, they have the hanbin-matthew story!

crys

i find it really funny and cute too that when zhang hao got first he didn’t even know it😭 he was asking hanbin “who????” so cute

crys

and omg i cant believe you didn’t know about gyuvin’s true personality! he’s actually super weird and unhinged and honestly a rascal in an endearing way 😭 he went viral during the finale because he was sitting ANYWHERE but on the chair, he was on the floor, beside jiwoong etc and the staff had to tell him off😭😭 u can search gyuvin finale to see it! the finale was so unserious they gave the staff headaches already, jiwoong forgetting the group name, gyuvin forgetting his speech, gunwook going up when minhyun wasnt done yet so minhyun was like where are you going?, ricky’s tattoo and “yes. actually no” when asked is that all after his new things lyrics, zhanghao and hanbin walking up together after staff signalled no holding hands and to walk alone💀 im guessing its because the show doesnt really show it but damn all their personalities are actually amazing, you can see it in the extra contents on youtube! it’ll make you even more attatched to some trainees and you’ll realise some people like ricky or yoo seungeon are actually so funny 😭

crys

i’m really happy ricky and gunwook made the cut, they both really deserve it! mnet has tried to edit ricky badly COUNTLES times and he still made it, 4th at that. he really deserves it! they dont show it on the show because they dont want ricky to debut but hes soo much more talented than whats shown and hes EXTREMELY hard working. you’ll also realise hes really cute and a really sweet guy eventually, he’s known by staff at yuehua and working on boys planet for being really respectful and kind, sharing snacks with the staff, bowing and thanking them at every instance even when other trainees dont! he said that he was actually waiting praying and putting his bets on 9th place, he lost hope because he didnt expect to be so high😭

karis_y

I have been following Jiwoong since INX and then fully stanned him when he went into his acting career and just he has always wished to be on stage and perform. All the lives he talked about it and even singing osts and the fanmeetings. He was my one pick already going into the show and when I tell you I BAWLED CRYING when he was announced. The connection I have with Jiwoong is one of the reasons why I love kpop so much. I am so happy for his debut in ZB1 and so proud of him he has gone through so much he deserves this :’)also YES JIWOONG HAS VOCALSSSS he has multiple covers he has done for fanmeetings and has sung osts for his dramas as well his vocal tone is very unique I love it.

Stephanie C

I watched the episodes you did with Dezzy when they first came out, but I didn't have a chance to return until after the finale. Because the episodes are so long, I could only watch one every night after work. This past week has been real wild binge watching with Jaehyuk PD and Blaire, like I went on a long journey with you as well. Even though I didn't have a one pick, I did like all of the trainees, so I'm looking forward ZB1's debut and future content!

Ashley

I have that same connection with Zhang hao. I genuinely have never felt this way about an idol in my 10 years of stanning kpop. I cried so much when he got first place, so well deserved

Marina Korab

I'm so happy hearing those words about Gunwook! I was crying too, i nearly lost hope, but it was the happiest announcement!

A36

Hi PD and Blaire! I know that you guys are on hiatus right now and probably won’t see this, but I just wanted to leave this comment for you. I’ve spent this entire weekend binge watching Boys Planet through you guys. I didn’t watch it live and honestly basically put off any form of enjoyment and entertainment in that time because I was so stressed and drowning in uni work. I finally had some time so I decided to just watch the whole thing with you. I wanted to thank you firstly for your reactions - I feel like sometimes you don’t know how much they can mean to us. I’ve been in a depressive episode this year and coming out of it has been one of the hardest things in my entire life. Watching things with you helps me so much. I feel so safe and comfortable here. And secondly, thank you for your genuine passion making these reaction videos. I can see how much you both genuinely mean it when you comment about the group, or even how engaged you are when you’re just silently watching. And that goes for all videos, not just this. Initially I was going to re-join the patreon once your hiatus was over, but I feel like I really needed this, and I truly wanted to support you in this way too. Most people would see a weekend of bingeing something as long as Boys Planet as a waste and unproductive, but I cannot explain how much I needed this rest. Thank you for being there for me, and I hope your rest serves you well too. I’m excited for your return after this hiatus :)

wonyojk

what Gunwook means to you is what Sung Hanbin means to me. I truly never loved, cherished, appreciated and cheered for an idol this much in my entire life and I hope he stays happy & healthy so I could be the same as well

Serendipity

Hi PD, just wanted to let you know that it says this video does not exist

Anonymous

Curious as to why the video does not exist anymore 🥲

Anonymous

hi PD! your video's currently seems like its not working, it says "this video does not exist", hope it can be fixed 🥲

Bryan Hyung

Hi PD! Seems like Eps 11 and 12 doesn't exist anymore. Hope you can fixed it whenever you have time. Have a great day!

Nine

Is it anyway to reupload 11 and 12 eps?

Raghad

I was so excited to watch the episodes 11/12 but they are not working please fix them I wanna see your reaction ;(

Laura

Just had to leave a comment on how much I disagree with your perspective on Matthew. He is arguably one of the groups strongest performers in my opinion. His kill this love fancam clearly proved that. Matthew's facial expressions are stellar, his dancing is exquisite and I just feel like he's a very balanced performer. I believe he's truly a concept eater and I can't wait for youth in shade to come out so everyone can actually see him.
