I have a very unpopular opinion. For me all the songs are weak. The boys did a good performance with what they got but man all the songs are not songs that I want to hear in my playlist. I remember with produce 101 the concepts songs were good. I loved Never, Oh little girl, 열어줘, show time, they were all good but in BP the only song on top 100 is SMN. My personal favorite is only En Garde but even if I like this song I don't think is a extremely good song (it's not hate towards the boys)

im really glad you guys took time to understand matthews situation! its been pretty awful for him since he ranked p02 and the hate just got worse after say my name, i personally think he did AMAZING in say my name like i was enchanted by him the whole performance 😭😭 but yeah people have been overanalysing every single thing hes been doing, criticising him and accusing him of stuff he never did, im so happy pd also noticed how well he did and ranked him 2nd cause its so great to see people appreciate him after all hes been through :)

For me personally this season has some of the highest quality performances in produce history. Especially compared to girls planet. As much as I loved the girls I found the stages to be pretty underwhelming for the most part. This season’s performances are on the higher end of the spectrum I think

Isn’t it weird that they never announced who came in last in the Say My Name performance? I think it’s Mnet not wanting any negative thoughts on their top picks for the debuting group. Very suspicious.

How I would rank them : 1. Over Me 2. Say My Name 3. Supercharger 4. Engarde 5. Switch 5. Switch: It was a hard carry from Park Hanbin. I think that with the members that this team had and their skill levels.. this performances felt underwhelming.. I mean they have damn Keita and Jungwoo and they just felt lost… I think TaeRae showed a bit of his weakness this round. I think ShuaiBo did better then the top skilled and ranked trainees. I’m impressed with him the most I think. But the performance did feel like 3 days of work to me. Compared to supercharger, this team showed on stage their strongest (park hanbin) and weakest (keita) sides and the contrast was too noticeable to me. Your team is only as strong as your weakest link. The song overall after letting it cook for a week is not my favourite. But TaeRae and Kamden’s voices in the studio version catch my attention the most. 4. EnGarde: I have the EXACT same opinion. The beginning was so mid compared to the ending. When watching back. I still feel that way too. The beginning was such a contrast and it didn’t seem to work. The ending was insane and Seunghwan, Gyuvin where my standouts. I still don’t see the Keum Junhyeon thing. He was my weakest link. He just hasn’t shown anything more or evolved since his audition… there still hasn’t been that “THIS WAS KEUM JUNHYEONS perfomance!” Moment for me… he just seems to just pass by with his humour rather then showcasing his actual skills onstage and separate those. I think it’s too late in the competition for him to show up now… this stage should’ve been HIS MOMENT if he was more greedy to show himself off. He’s played his stages too passively. The rest where good. I think this was gunwooks weakest performance. From his image I have in my head… for another powerful dancer like Gyuvin to eat him up on stage… after Gunwook is known for his power dance on stage… it felt dissatisfying. Seunghwan vocals really impressed me. Hiroto was just there, doing the same thing he always does, so nothing special. And hui did what hui does. 3. SuperCharger: This one may be biased. Slightly… because my top3 picks : Woongki, SeoWon and Haruto are here… but this team had the “weakest” skill wise members. But they didn’t fall behind and kept up with the other teams within 3 days + Zihao and SeoWon had 2days (because they went to record MCountdown too) and within those 3 days they also had all those “variety” and “filled” parts of the episode to shoot… so their practice time was even less. This team had the “mood makers” in it and I think if anyone else was on this team, it could’ve fallen apart. Haruto and Zihao lead the dance, takuto and Ollie took the smaller parts to not be a burden and worked hard to keep up, SeoWon and Woongki did what “the Unnies” (their friendship name is) do and made sure to keep the tension and atmosphere of the group up and always happy. (Lots of behind the scenes stuff was shown of this). And Woongki and SeoWon took on big parts of main rapper and main vocal and it wasn’t “perfect” but it was the most perfect they could have done with 2-3 days of practice. I think if they got even 2 more days of practice in… supercharger could’ve been top2. It’s the song I end up going back to listen to the most. I hated it at first but now I’m weirdly obsessed. I think superchargers team member balance and skills where on par to each other to a certain extend esp, Zihao, Haruto, Woongki and SeoWon - they all seemed at the same level, so no one really “stood out” but they all did equally. And Takuto and Ollie had their little 2 parts and it was just perfect. 2. Say My Name: I do hope we find out if Woongki’s ideas where changed after they kicked him out… if they didn’t change it and kept things how it was using his ideas and still kicked him out. It would leave a massively sour taste in my mouth towards these guys. + it was obvious what this teams tactic was. “Keep the high rankings trainees together and vote anyone else out + keep the main vocal”. It is a survival show at the end of the day… but this isn’t the first time top9 candidates have especially targeted Woongki and pushed him out of the team. I still think if this team kept Woongki, he would’ve overshadowed them in this type of concept and he is already on an upwards spiral after feel special and his variety moments… he would be a threat to them if they allowed him to stay and show he can be amoung the top9. In that aspect they where smart to vote out who they voted out and play it safe. It’s my 3rd most listened to song right now. It’s not bad but I’m just not in the mood for that style of music right now. I think Seungeon hard carried with his vocals. JiWoong did better then I thought and he pulled off that “hyung persona” here so well. Yujin still hasn’t wowed me… Gyuvin finally has. Yujin still hasn’t. I still don’t see it. Hanbin is the flower boy. Which leads me to think the group could have a unique flower boy concept and follow Iz one’s footsteps. Especially since hanbin is the one MNET wants to push as the groups Center. He did well, but nothing standout. I didn’t notice Matthew and still don’t see what Matthew does to make people like him. He’s solid but just like Yujin I still don’t see what others see. Even in this performance I still didn’t see it… 1. Over Me: RICKYYYYYYYYY. Guys. RICKYYYYYY. No I freaked out. Holyy. This team in general was insaneeeeee. Plus the song is my fave too. ZhangHao was mothering and leadering and he pulled his part off so well. KuanJui had his little dance break part but I think his vocal skills are too far behind at this stage to debut, most of his lines where shared with ZhangHao. Jay’s vocals where sooo good. The studio version is incredible!!! But his dancing and presence still is lacking a lot, which is a shame. Junghyeons rap was perfect. It gave that breathe of air and spice this song needed. And then. The MVP for me.. of this entire round. RICKY. His facials? His acting? HIS VOCALLSSSSS? His dancing!?!? He EMBODIED the song the most out of everyone. I was gagged and MR.Ricky solidified his top9 spot for me.

I feel like Matthew always wants to be the best which in his mind means having the biggest parts and roles and then excelling in them - he has wanted to be main vocal and/or killing part in every round (as have many other trainees to be fair, and trying out for them is a good thing) and even seemingly wants to be the leader of (almost?) every team he is in. if then something doesn't work out and shows he isn't "the best" in what he had in mind, i.e. those "big" positions, he feels betrayed or disappointed which stresses out everyone, and especially himself (as was the case with him leading love killa) In the process, or maybe as a byproduct, of all that he doesn't see that he has already found what he is "the best" at! he is so immensely charming, a very good dancer and even a good (if not main) singer, and when he finds those parts that suit his charms like he did in say my name, he is *the best* at that! I really hope he realises that soon and am rooting for his debut :)

okay I thought I was going crazy and dismissed my thought while watching it immediately, but you saying it makes me feel so valided! jeong hyeon sometimes reminded me of soobin too! and also sometimes of sunghoon, especially during the over me performance

honestly Say My Name was a perfect performance, all the parts fit so well and everyone was shining to the point that i cant even say who did the least best all of them were so stable and in the same level and Over Me was a close second they were amazing but trust me the show version didn't do it justice the full performance video enhances it so much and it enraged me that Jay got last place he wasn't the one who caught my attention the most and everyone did great but his adlibs were insane his voice gave the music so much color but mnet is a bitch and rarely focus on him when he's singing but even despite that since it was live votes its so shocking that people didn't noticed him because if you see the full version he shines much more so it makes no sense to me

Park Hanbin is just a beast, I 1000% agree with everything you said about him, he is absolutely needed in that debut group. Beyond voting for him I genuinely admire him and learn from him - his leadership, his reliability, his sheer amount of talent, his ability to learn anything so quickly and as you said his ability to really just lift up the energy of any group he's in. I never thought about his mentality until you mentioned it but it's definitely an interesting food for thought, because it's true that there hasn't been a moment that's been aired (from what I remember) where he's let obstacles he faces impact him in terms of performance, confidence etc. I don't even think I've seen this man nervous and if he is he's damn good at hiding it. To me he's the ace and underdog and the secret weapon all wrapped into one. As others have mentioned I also feel like Jay did not deserve 400 points and it makes me so sad he gets such little support from the live audience. I definitely agree with the critiques about his performance and facial expressions but his vocals really brought Over Me to the next level and are the highlight of the song when you listen to it on streaming. His vocals could really bring something different to the new generation of boy groups so while he may not be performance ready, I'm rooting for him to make the debut group too. Also your comments about Mingyu got me shaking in my boots because I already think he's the hottest man alive from pictures so I can't imagine what it's like meeting him in person.

If a live audience has to choose the best stage for the artist battle in a survival show, 99% of the time it's going to be the sexy song. At this point it's an unwritten rule. The only time where the sexy song didn't win (at least what I remeber) was Snake in GP999. But the masters chose the winner there, while the viewers were very vocal that they liked Snake the most.

I love rewatching these with you guys because we either hard core are on the same wave length or disagree (which I wish I could actually talk to yall about but in another world haha). Park Hanbin solidified my vote from this episode, despite the fact that Gunwook and Zhanghao is on the same level as him in my voting scale. I'm going to be devastated if neither of them make it but I think this group NEEDS PHanbin like yall were saying. I'm not sure why it is but popular members like Ricky and Gyuvin never catch my eye, infact all I can really see are faults in their performance. I like both of their personalities but performance wise they lack to me which I am totally aware is vastly different from everyone else. Another person I can't get a grasp on is Hui. His vocals are amazing of course but personally I'm not a fan of the high tension singing he does and I don't know if he enjoys the stage, I can't see that when he performs like I can see on the Hanbins or Keita. Also Jiwoongi? Idk how to feel about him either tbh, he's a great hyung but he never catches my eye. Despite it all I don't want them not to make the debut line up, I just wouldn't personally pick them as my top9. Anyway I'm still in recovery from episode 11. That one hurt and I might be awful but I'm excited for yall to check it out and feel the misery I feel lol. Thanks for the reaction!

this episode is the one I was looking foward the most and ended up really mad lol... like mnet really just try to hide jay from the performance... like my boy was flexing vocals and doing amazing adlibs while dancing at the same time and no screentime, even with the high notes they focus on the other ones dancing....man... but overall over me was still my favorite performance with Jay and Lee jeonghyeon as my stands out. next is en garde and then say my name for me

I highly recommend that you and Blaire watch the dance practice videos forall of the performances. They showcase the choreo a lot better, which is extra useful for stages like en guarde, switch, and say my name, where I feel the camerawork didn't quite do it justice or (in the case of say my name) they made some changes after. Jongwoo's parts especially I feel weren't captured on camera very well.

my personal rankings! 1. over me this performance was BEYOND perfect and especially ricky was SOO GOOOD. hes been my pick from the very start and ive been frustrated that hes been in teams where he couldn’t stand out/the teams where there was a lot of drama and he finally found the right team and managed to show a spendid performance. he deserves to be in top 9! also jeonghyeon! hes been one of my nugu picks from the start and hes finally gained popularity so im glad! hes a complete all rounder — rapper, dancer, vocal, visual, and u’ll see soon hes really funny. zhanghao as usual slayed! 2. say my name tbh say my name and supercharger are almost on the same level for me, because tbh say my name was good, perfect even but just not memorable to me. objectively, they did really good but its cute and refreshing but i cant find anything that special about it! i mean they are made up of 4/5 top 9’s and a somewhat high ranking stable trainee so i didnt really expect any less. seungeon did soo well btw, his voice is so perfect, i’m so glad he switched parts with matthew, it really made the performance 10x better! nothing much to say tbh, it was an outstanding performance. matthew was so cute here LOL i love that little cheering thing he does at the side so adorbs 3. SUPERCHARGER oh my god where do i start. the energy was amazing, the performance was perfect (or at least as perfect as it can get with 2-3 days of practice) because think about it! they only had around 2 days to practice (seowon and zihao had to go for mcountdown, and they filmed a lot of content in between too like the field day etc) and they absolutely did amazing! the whole stage was amazing to be honest, all the lower ranked trainees were grouped up here together, but they really showed what they had. everybody performed their parts well, even the weaker younger two ollie and takuto delivered their small parts perfectly. and god damn they had takuto on the team and they managed to get him dancing like THAT. he didn’t even really stick out strangely. they managed to morph takuto into that with less than 3 days. not to mention this is the HARDEST song out of the 5 and takuto is the weakest on the show rn, and they all have ranks 16 and below. even the previous team struggled SO MUCH with a lot of practice. man. this team was a perfect balance to me and what they went through/their story really made me love this stage even more and i am soo attatched to this team. their passion really shone through, they wouldve been 1st place contenders tbh, if they had the same amount of time as the other 3 grps. supercharger team has a special place in my heart, seowon, woongi, zihao, takuto, ollie, and especially haruto were amazing❤️ 4. EN GARDE agree with you! beginning was eh, pretty mid tbh but it only got better. i agree that it wouldve been amazing if gyuvin could do the first half of the killing part damn😭😭 it would rly have been a lot better. i’m kind of sad that junhyeon doesnt stand out here, he’s one of the trainees i really like but he doesn’t stand out at all here and i know hes worked so hard but this stage didnt do him any justice. few lines, little screentime, and he was mostly at the back. i wish we could have seen more from him! personally gyuvin still hasn’t convinced me fully yet, he performed the killing part extraordinarily well but his rap…it just didn’t do it for me😭 idk but it kind of ruined the flow for me, personally his rap lacked flow, the pronounciation was unclear, very slurred, i felt like he wasn’t on beat. seunghwan. oh my god. my one-pick… i am so glad he FINALLY has a chance to show his vocal skills. his high note was so powerful indeed, i’m so proud and happy for him😭😭 he’s dominantly a vocal but the previous missions have NOT given him a chance to show it, he’s been rapping (in danger, and ggang after he was the last to be pushed out by hanbin and given no choice) man. i wish mnet treated him better, he could really debut here. he’s too talented and the best all rounder on the show. he really needs this chance too, he mighr give up after this. nonetheless, the whole performance was incredible! 5. SWITCH it pains me to put switch here because a few of my favourites(park hanbin and taerae) are here but it just felt so underwhelming. park hanbin and kamden definitely delivered well, but the stage didn’t have chemistry i feel, it wasn’t that immersive save for the stage set-up, and the other members fell short this time. taerae showed his weakness here i feel, and keita and jongwoo just weren’t at their usual level. i was kind of disappointed, especially with so many powerhouses here. even shuaibo stood out more than some of them. it’s a pity, but they only had few days so it’s understandable to an extent but u can really tell it’s a bit sloppy, but they did their best! i still enjoyed the stage 🙏🏼

also omg id love for you to check out more nine.i content! you really liked what you’ e seen so far from them so i think u should check them out! you can see more of seowon there too ^^ u reallyy liked their first two title tracks and i think you should do a listening party for their albums to hear more of their amazing self-produced discography and hear their music more ( u should check their covers out too! all the stuff they’ve released has been perfect) or u could check out their small variety show “why not nine.i” where they REALLY shine as entertainers. they have amazing chemistry too, i feel like you’d love it😭 it isn’t that long too, they’re all short two parters. i just feel like you’d really love nine.i and theyre so goddamn underrated considering how good their music is and how fun the members are. i really hope u could check them out in ur bonus drops 😭😭

I think Jay's confidence has been hit due to all the hate there's been around him, I'm sure he's seen at least some of it. If we go back to Love Me Right G team, he is so active and having fun on that stage, you can see his confidence with his expressions and everything. I miss it.
