My favorite performances from episode 3 is definitely kill this love G group and love me right G group

Theia

Every single time there is a Seventeen song on a survival show all the trainees scream how they love this song so much and want to do it. Then the get the song, watch a live stage and suddenly act like they've never heard or seen a Seventeen song before. "The pitch is too high! The dancing is to much!" Cracks me up every time but also makes me question, how dumb you have to be.

lasgin99wif

KTL G group was my favourite of the entire night and I'm really glad they won. Just like y'all said however, this was when I started really seeing Gunwook for who he was and he's been in my top9 ever since. The pure determination, confidence and thoroughness with which he approached the challenge was incredible and rarely ever seen on these shows. Had it not been for him, KTL K-group would've lacked basically everything but he was so analytical and deliberate in everything he did, he made it work in the end. I've been having nothing but admiration for for him left ever since.

Neeko

Jay is actually built different, his vocals are crazy! Love Me Right was my favorite of the night because it felt so fun and everyone exceeded my expectations, especially Haruto and Wumuti! Kill this Love G Group hit all the marks as well and killed that so hard!

Oof Oof

I was very uncertain about Gun Wook but after episode 3 he raised to the top of my list. He's literally a beast and a crazy strategist. His teammate wasn't kidding when he said to trust him because he's always right.

Oof Oof

Gun Wook reminds me of RM in the fact that there's something genius about their minds

The Top9 I’ve decided on personally : 1. Kim JiWoong - His visuals are unmatched. + he has lots of talent + he took a HUGE risk to openly talk about BL’s and said it with pride. Screamed “ALLY” to me and that’s more then most idols do.. he had the balls. + I loved his dramas and wanna support him until he debuts and I think most of the queer community is HEAVILY and religiously backing him. 2. Sung Hanbin - I mean.. self explanatory. The Dayeon of this season but done right. 3. ZhangHao - His Leadership skills are so great, very likeable, great Main Vocalist and attitude. GREEN FLAG. 4. Matthew - I’m sold on the Hanbin x Matthew friendship story. I want them together and he is a great filler member. He doesn’t need the most screentime and he will do fine. 5. SeoWon - I’m calling it early. He’s the YoungEun / Yena of this season. His vibe, visuals and dancing is so insane + he has a great stable voice. + his variety skills are sooo good and his chemistry with Woonggi? HELLO? I’ve never seen 2 guys hit it off like they have. They OWN behind the scenes content together. 6. Cha Woonggi (Aju Nice Center for K Group) (His variety skills are unmatched. I’m looking for someone who can be a “filler member” and bring something else). + I wanna say a big middle finger to WakeOne for kicking him out of TO1 for no reason. 7. Kim Gyu Vin - He has that idol vibe. Reminds me a lot of MINHEE from X1&Cravity. I hope he gets better. He will defo make it then. 8. Han Yujin or Ricky - Yujin just needs to improve. Golden maknae. And Ricky… he has tO STEP UP. He needs to show why he can be Amoung the high rankers levels. 9. Jay or Hui - Main Vocalists candidates for me. Jays voice would be very refreshing in KPop. BUT hui will bring experience, producing skills and leadership too… so it is a tough choice. That’s my top9 with reasons. 😫

I definitely think that G-group kill this love did the best if we're talking about balance. Keita definitely know what he was doing when he picked his group member and Zhang Hao has a great potential as a leader. Salute to Gunwook tho the fact that he's in the same company as Dayeon is crazy to me because their confidence is insane but I love it. Jay did so well too carrying his team and his vocals really hits different. I feel bad for Hui tho I feel like he's really pressured but I hope he'll overcome that soon because he's a great vocalist on his own without even trying much. Anyways I hope the future challenges will finally remove the K vs. G set up because I need to see Hanbin and Matthew perform together atleast once lol. In regards to the situation regarding g group Back Door I don't wanna be harsh towards Krystian because MNET loves drama but I do agree that it is disrespectful to keep the other guy out of the discussion especially since they voted him as their leader. Also I am convinced that Min Gyu is on this show just to clown us 😭 why is this man so bad during rehearsal like he's not even gonna be able to get through half of the song but then proceed to perform live like he practiced the song for a month. Just wanna share my thoughts on the show so far. One thing I realized right after watching the first few episodes of BP999 is that MNET will always find their way to manipulate the line-up. It's crazy to me how Girls Planet and Boys Planet are being called a global group but it will ultimately favor the k-group contestants. I can't remember if you dive deep in the voting system during gp999 but basically 50% are korean votes and 50% are global votes which means ratio wise a single vote from Korea is probably worth 10 votes globally. While I do understand that this is K-POP I want them to be more fair towards the g-group. Aside from this, despite me enjoying this show so far I honestly can't deny that MNET is basically feeding us the contestants that they are in favor of by giving the same people a huge amount of screentime every episode. Don't get me wrong I like a lot of people on the upper ranks but there are also a lot of talented contestants that mnet should showcase more like Yedam (boy got an all star and they didn't even air his performance?) and one of my pick Seunghwan (vote for him pls). After this round the first elimination will come up and I barely even know half of them 🤧 This is my opinion tho so I understand if you guys don't share the same sentiments.

Jared Williams

I’m so happy to see someone else has Seo Won on their list I’m crying he’s actually so stable vocally and with dance and has incredible stage presence

mistywolf the dragon rider

I thought I would mention it because it seems like PD doesn't realize yet, but Seowon and Jang Jiho are both from the same group, Nine.i, as well as Winnie who is Thai so he is in the G group. They are all so talented, I'm really hoping this will give Nine.i a lot more exposure.

Amanda Bernström

My top picks right now is Hanbin, Matthew, Jiwoong, Ricky, Anthonny and Zhang Hao

soaz

My favorite performance for this episode was definitely G group's Kill This Love. Watching this performance when the episode was airing live truly was something else lol, everyone on twitter was freaking out over Matthew and Zhanghao. So many people said their performance had such a long lasting effect on them that they couldnt really focus on Gunwooks team's performance right after lmao. I personally tend to be more impressed by how much you can embody a concept than by shows of power and I feel like overall the members of G group did better individually so theyre my pick.

soaz

My picks (who performed or were featured this episode) are : - sung hanbin : this guy. i know you guys only go by what you see on the show but theres so much going on behind the scenes. it's like every day someone that knows him personally comes out to add something to the never-ending list of green flags this dude has. im not gonna go into details here but there's a reason korea loves him not only is he incredibly talented and center material, he also has the kindest heart and an amazing mentality. - zhanghao : always delivers. really great skills overall, leadership qualities (i mean he has a teaching licence...), love his stage presence. his mentality is so appealing to me he's very greedy for the stage but in a healthy way? like he wants things for himself but that doesnt stop him from taking care of other people i really dig it. BIG leader energy imo - seowon : THE SMILE ON MY FACE WHEN YOU NOTICED HIM oh my god. he's a nine.i member so i know a bit better what he's capable of as an idol and man. he's so entertaining. he's a chameleon. make him do any concept and he'll kill it. so many charms. - matthew : not much to say except he's so good. improving day by day too like so much potential. he's also super loveable and the matthew x hanbin friendship got me ngl

Oligom

when G group Back Door team was dividing the parts and FAILING HORRIBLY to communicate with Kamden, the leader, i was getting agitated until i remembered that MNET has a horrible track-record of evil-editing the chinese trainees. so, i will give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

hayun lee

man it gets so irritating sometimes to see mnet constantly trying to edit hui like hes gonna flop on stage when he never actually does 😭 my definite picks other than hui are probably matthew, yedam, haruto, and gunwook. people usually get turned off at overly ambitious trainees but i find gunwooks confidence admirable tbh

Cristine

The devils works hard but MNET works harder. 🤷🏽‍♀️ I personally feel that that scene was heavily edited. But regardless of what the reality is, I don’t think he deserves to be called an asshole since none of us were there with them.

h

kill this love g group is deffo my fave performance from this challenge. keita was too clever picking his team, the real avengers of the show. seeing this new side of seok matthew killed me and secured him as my top 3. the chemistry of this team was too good and i hope most of them make the final lineup they deseve it!

Céline Verhaeghe

basically the people I'm rooting for are Takuto, Haruto, Matthew, Mingyu (red my house guy and he was in seventeen btw), Doha (Blue my house), seo hanbin, Cong and Hui of course. Those are the ones that got my attention at the moment. There are a few others that I liked in this weeks episode (but I forgot their names)

Calida

Gunwook immediately caught my attention from episode 1 as well. Like even just his energy when he came in was so completely different from any trainee/idol I have ever seen and then finding out his age I was like wtf?? this kid is gonna be unstoppable as he gets older. I am gonna be following this man throughout his career I swear, I've been voting for him every single day since the show started and I'll be damned if he doesn't make it into the debut group lmao and even once he debuts under his official group in his company I will be following him as well, he's just so fucking different.

pink_princess

Am I the only one who doesn‘t like gunwook?😂 I don‘t like his attitude, I get a strange vibe from it 😅. Don‘t get me wrong he is really talented but for me personally… especially in this performance… he tries to outshine his teammates (the starting position for example) and he dances way too powerful for me and sticks out in a bad way. I really hoped that in the voting he would loose against chen kuan jui. Not because I don‘t like him… but for his ego. I get the feeling that he thinks of himself way too highly…its good to have selfconfidence… but in a healthy amount. That‘s my opinion about him and it can change in further episodes ☺️ obviously I don‘t know him personally so he could be totally different from what I „described“ him.

Haruka

I still think Gunwook should've picked two more members and did Danger. It'd be a 100% win. Hwanhee has the vocals, he got the rappers already down; but Gunwook chose the hard way. I hope they'll survive, they're already ranking low on popularity chart...

brianna a

Gunwook, Hanbin, Mathew and Jay better debut or I will literally riot..... I will be ready to buy that ticket to Korea, no joke.... lmaoooo (also Keita and Jiwoong...)

excellen

For now the contestants that I'm rooting for the most are Yedam and Seunghwan but I also really want Hanbin and Matthew to debut together and like Zhang Hao very much. And as I said I'll be voting for Hui for him to go as far as possible in the competition. My favorite performance this episode was definitely the G Group Kill this Love. Keita really played his cards well and it paid off in the end. Gunwook also did well but the G group overall was better in my opinion...K group had some pitchy vocals here and there when G group was super consistent throughout the performance. I'll be honest and say that I disliked the K vs G theme of this mission. The cell system in GP999 was awfull for voting purposes but I really liked that it made the K, C and J groups work together. At the end of the day the final group will be made of both groups (hopefully) so the us versus them missions for me are pointless. Also understand people frustrations with MNET but I hope people finally understand what they mean with their "we want to make a global group" schtick: it's never about making a group with a fair ratio between koreans and foreigners...it wasn't in Girls Planet, it wasn't in any Produce seasons that they said the same thing either...it's about a group that can reach global audiences but also promote in Korea. They will never take chances with the possibility of having more foreign members than koreans in the group so they will always favor K group. Always vote for whoever you like regardless but if your G trainee pick is not one of MNET's chosen ones they will have very limited screentime even if they are good. Hell even with some on the K group it is like this with Yedam getting all stars, keeping them, getting praise left and right but having very little screentime. Also dislike that they went back to the Produce voting for the live audience. The live audience is NOT voting for each one who they think did better in each position they are just voting for the one trainee they liked between both K and G performances, they just have one vote. Since MNET shows a panel with the votes separated by positions we are made to think they are being evaluated directly by positions when they are not. Much preferred if they just voted which performance they liked better overall but I know this doesn't give the numbers and stats MNET wants that is which trainees are the most popular ones with the audience.

Amanda Araujo

the kill this love performances were all amazing to me to the point that i was happy with whoever would won like if we're talking objectively i think g group did a little better overall because some from k group did little mistakes vocally that g group didnt but i also liked k group's energy more so in the end its hard for me to choose which i liked better however of all 2 groups i think Gun Wook was definitely the best one he is just INSANE and like you said he is literally a bit crazy lol the way he planed all of that up in a few minutes and had such a detailed vision for the group was just wild he really is something different also Seo Won actually reminds me of Yunho from ateez when he smiles and man i just cant get over how incredible Jay's voice is he just have so much soul and emotion when he sings i get blown away everytime i can totally see him being like a little bruno mars as dezzy said if he doesnt make it

Skyler

There are some people who when you watch them perform you can just tell that this is an ‐‐‐IDOL‐--. People whose face you'd expect to find next to the definition of the word. Sung Hanbin is one of the biggest cases of that I've ever seen. I also get the same sort of feeling from Seowon.

Skyler

While I agree that G-Group KTL did better overall and was even my favorite of the two, I can't fault Gunwook even a little bit because we had the exact same plan. Seeing who was left at that point my go to idea was Hwanhee, Gunwook; Kill This Love. Hwanhee with the vocals and Gunwook bringing all the power that that song needs. Plus some other members that were bigger, more opposing so that their group's visuals were strikingly different from G-Group. So when Hwanhee started picking out his members it was exhilarating to see almost the exact team in my head come to life. In the end if anyone in G-Group had been a little bit weaker I think K-Group would have taken it but that just goes to show how well G-Group trained for this so props to them. Now Gunwook seems the type that since he built this all up himself he's going to let it all crash back down on him. So I can only hope that he doesn't let this damper his confidence or bring him down. Only want the best for this kid. Someone else I only want the best for is Haruto. I've been rooting for him since LOUD. His elimination there was the hardest I think I ever took one of these survival show eliminations so having him try again here is both great and nerve wracking as hell.

EmmyD610

Seowon Seowon Seowon <3 I was so disappointed in ep 1/2 when they showed a lot of his reactions to other trainees yet did not even show his own audition... Nine.i trainees deserve better ! I'm glad he got to shine in his Aju Nice performance

Melody

Keita is the sweetest bestest guy! It was really sad in Treasure Box how he got a lot of hate because of how much he wanted to pair up with Yedam and would be a little disappointed when it wouldn’t happen. BTW he was my favorite in TB. I feel badly that he’s in the Rain Company, Rain might be talented but he doesn’t know how to run a boy group. If you’ve ever seen any variety content on Ciipher you’d see sadly he was too controlling. I hope he gets another chance because his talents are being wasted there at his company.

Irieezy.

Yallllll the way I just fell in love with Jay! Lol his voice is buttery smooth and so EFFORTLESS. Homeboy not even trying and he hitting all the right notes and getting jiggy with it at the same time. All the members got to shine and I felt like Jay's runs were perfectly placed not to overshadow the others. Also such a huge simp for Matthew! Even though he had few lines he still delivered. Favorite performances were KTL G group and Love me Right G group.

Bri

Idk why but Jang Ji Ho looks like Micheal Jackson to me lol

hannah

the yg training really shows in keita's live singing...his stability is insane.!!!!

Isabella N.

here’s my picks so far (before watching episode 4):

Isabella N.

forgot when i was writing this, but gunwook is in my top 5. i wasn’t as sure during episode 1-2, but watching and rewatching k-group’s KTL confirmed it

RobotoMon

Perfect time for Jay to show up when the rnb/retro/new jeans era is the biggest thing is 4th right now. Jay is so good!!!

yayasiimsx

Hey Guys Park Hanbin is also from Loud i remember him being a very good dancer hopefully he gets to debut

nia

my main picks are matthew and keita but i love soooo many trainees!! cant wait for u guys to react to ep 4 and see sung hanbin AND park hanbin eat the stage up since theyre some of my favorites too :) and out of curiosity when to u plan to have the 4th episode up?? ik it takes a while to film these since theyre so long lmao but i just cant wait so i wanted to ask 😭😭

Serena

just yall wait for that love me right k group performance. i watched it last night with my friend and WE LOST IT. putting hanbin & hui in one group was just the ultimate move. they're such an incredible center & main vocal duo love me right k group was def my fav k group performance. and kill this love was my fav g group one.

Céline

having finally started to listen to NINE.i 2 days ago after i was so charmed by Seowon's evaluation and having watched your reactions to their title tracks, it's really funny to see how Seowon's always pick your curiosity by his visual and voice but also how you don't remember him each time 🤭 Mnet sadly cut all of the already debuted trainees auditions ( minus Keita since he was with other people in his group ) to only flashbacks for Hui's story and it's really sad cause they deserved to be more known than constantly used for reaction shots and nothing else :( Also, since you didn't watched the full cut performances you also didn't really understood who was Dang Hong Hai and why he was first but thankfully, even with his and Cong's performance cut in the first episodes and no screentime at all, people liked him and watched his fancam and voted for him <3 also he's from fantagio 🙏🏻 i really like him, even tho i'm scared he will lose a lot of ranks in the future because of no screentime... even after mnet saw how popular he was they seem to not really like him, they cut all the seconds they could in the Love Me Right G group performance where we could see him... It feels like he's only singing "yeah yeah" because they barely show him in the center or cut to reactions or another member when it's his turn... Mnet obviously have their way to push the same members so it kinda feels like the lineup has already been decided but the 1 pick rule at the end might change a lot of things so we'll see. Really hated also the G vs K team they kept pushing when at the end they're supposed to work and debut together... but we know it was to eliminate the most G group trainees in the first round of votes sadly. I also really really love Gunwook but i have a feeling he might be boys planet's suyeon/sheon... having screentime and being good but never enough to reach the top 9 😭 and for KTL, from my pov g group did sooooo well... after watching it i felt like no one could top it. i kinda would love for those 6 to just debut like this 🙏🏻

Lisa H

my solidified favs from this episode are Matthew, keita, and zhang hao. those are my babies fr. jays vocals are insane so I'm a fan but im not sold on voting for him yet. i love hui's voice but i need him to RELAX. in general and vocally. everything doesn't need a high note. i think he shines in his moderate range and runs. he sounds best when he sings things straight w/ a cute run here and there.

Claire B

I cant open the vod in the vimeo app please help 😭

I just gotta put this here... They really gave Krystian an evil edit... (Timestamp 1:16:39) They really weren't just discussing by themselves. There's a good reddit post about it, but basically, Krystian wasn't continually butting in and interrupting Kamden, he was trying to translate real-time for the rest of the group. I don't think Kamden got what Krystian was trying to do, and I do think his feelings were genuinely hurt, but they made it look like the Chinese members were bullying him when Krystian really was just trying to translate albeit poorly...

Bwbble

haruto my mini mark lee

希文 王

So I am Taiwanese (we share ethnicities with China but not exactly the same), I'll try to give my two cents (based on this episode where Krystian and Kamden have a conflict) (someone left a comment above saying that Krystian is still bratty in the next episode but I haven't seen it so I won't consider that) 1.The icky thing about the whole exchange was they agreed to let Kamden lead, and then Krystian just talked over him. Someone also said that Krystian was just trying to translate what Kamden's saying to them, but that's not true either. 2.When Kamden brings up the killing part first (because it's at the top of the list), Krystian says "你就先不要想killing part,你就選你想要的part", which is exactly what Mnet translated, "let's not think about the killing part now, just pick which part you want", which is not what Kamden said at all? And the "you" is also clearly directed at the others besides Kamden. 3.I'm willing to give Krystian some slack when the other chinese member asks (in frustration) how do they compete for main rapper when he doesn't know the words and he tells him don't rush don't rush, (不著急不著急), probably to soothe him, but at the same time it's a competition, and as we see in the episode, if they can't decide their parts they get less practice time, so you have to rush, if you don't know the words, it's a big disadvantage but ultimately like PD and Dez said, you're competing in a korean survival show, it should be on you to learn the language and try to communicate. 4.the overall vibe I get from Krystian is that he actually wants to lead the team, he leans into something like nepotism, as you can see when he tries the "hey, you want to come in?" line he's only looking at the other chinese member, he wants the killing part (since that is the line he tried), and he was probably looking for the other chinese members to back him up, and I don't think they know what to do (as you can see Ricky and other trainees besides that one chinese member look taken aback or nervous). Like I said in gp999, a lot of chinese people have this 狼性 (wolf nature, translated directly) that is taught to them from when they're young, basically to be cutthroat, to win at all costs, and (due to their society) do anything even if it's immoral. Now, not all chinese do this, nor do they all believe in it, but it does nuture a good amount of people that will run you over like a tank to make things go their way. If I were to give Krystian the benefit of the doubt and say he was trying to translate real time, then he's doing a piss poor job of it, since he's not even conveying the same meaning as what Kamden said.

Rebecca Le Minh

Omg Seok Matthew pulled a Jay with the part selection ahaha I love him even more for that <3 but it was funny

kisa1909

Favorite performance was Love Me Right for this episode even though Aju Nice is my fave song. I have so many I want to make it. If I had to pick I'd say the ones I comment on a lot are Haruto, Zhang Hao, Matthew, Hanbin, Jiwoong, SeoWon, Yedam, Gunwook, and Jay. But that lineup is subject to change lol. Except Haruto. Haruto is my one pick from Loud so I feel very loyal to him here. There are so many more that I'd add to the list. I actually wish they were making 2 groups b/c I think there's another 9 that could definitely be ready for debut by the end of this show. I also have to say I was really proud of Mingyu here, he did SO well!

"I only have nine votes, b*s" My soul felt that

elise

My top pick : #1 WUMUTI #2 HWANHEE #3 CHEN KUAN JUI Those 3 trainees doesn't leave when I vote but sometimes I also have Keita, Seunghwan, Cong, Haruto. KILL THIS LOVE - G GROUP was my favorite, the K GROUP version wasn't my style I think and like someone commented I like how it felt powerful but at the same time, you still have the girlsgroup feeling to it. I totally understand picking the AJU NICE K GROUP one, it was better technically and overall but really Cong carried G-GROUP, he really caught my attention, you see that the song is hard but he is still do it with confidence. Really happy to heard Dezzy say Wumuti name and the fact he got some attention. Wumuti is so good and I'm sad he let the main vocal part just because he got scared of Hui when I'm sure he could have done it. (he nailed Mirotic high note back in UNDER19 era so). Also a bit upset at MNET for the screentime, out of all the killing part/center, Wumuti got the less screentime and seeing him so low in the ranking pain me when I know how talented he is. If we take BP into account, Wumuti is at his third survival show. He was in SUPER IDOL, UNDER19. (Funny thing, in all the three survival show, Solji was judge). He also debuted in SWIN-S with Cai Xukun (who did IDOL PRODUCER and ended up in NINE PERCENT, Jackson was a mentor here, Lay was in it too). During that period, we could see him rap. He went to UNDER19 in the performance team, got praised and surprised everyone with his vocal. Like I said in another comment, he had to leave for some reason but he was really loved back then. He is an Uyghur Chinese descent (His name Umut means Hope in Uyghur) also when he present himself in BOYS PLANET it's with the line"Wumuti tititi titi" (reference to ANTIFRAGILE, he is a big FEARNOT that's why he also mentionned Kazuha during EP 1) If Dezzy want to see more videos/cover etc from Wumuti : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JKwzEHnXmqc (EYES NOSE LIPS cover with Rocky from ASTRO) https://twitter.com/tao_tao_TF_TNT/status/1025105551338815488?s=20 (He is in white, he is dancing with a member of SWIN-S) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pus6VWu8Y3I (Mirotic fancam) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXSIGFTnXu0 (Shangri La focus) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PFUpnmr7vK4 (U + Black Suit focus) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lshNMMLsDmY (Dance cover of Danger by Taemin) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nK4yl7woifI / https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHghzuapOyI (UN Village cover) https://www.youtube.com/@wumuti3347/videos (Youtube channel with more cover)

JK

I urge anyone who thinks Kristian is getting evil editing to watch Youth With You. The man has already appeared on a Chinese reality show and was an issue there as well. It's like it's his way or nothing. His behavior is selfish, he pouts when he doesn't get his way, and he gets pushy. He has an attitude problem and is very narcissistic. This is not me just trying to hate on him like that is just him.

Doyoungismyult

I also am going to highly recommend the show PEAK TIME as well when you have a chance. It is HUGE in Korea now.

cynthia li

I actually watched all the performances before I started the show (because I wasn't sure if I had the time to watch lol), and my main standouts were: 1. Jay in Love Me Right, immediately fell in love with his voice like WOW 2. G-Group Kill This Love - this one was interesting because no one stood out specifically, but the whole group just felt so cohesive that I loved the performance 3. K-Group Kill This Love - Park Gunwook, not a bad performance by the rest, but he was the only real standout to me. Hwanhee's vocals were good but I thought it was a little strained at points. 4. Cong in Aju Nice - this is going to sound bad, but I really didn't like the rest of the performance and he stood out as being the one who really felt *good*. I feel more sympathetic to them now, and really respect the amount of work they put in.

krista li

YES!!! I love Dezzy's channel also so I'm excited to see some episodes / watchalongs with him

Lele

you can't just IGNORE that g team had 6 great members bc u like gunwook so much haha HELP
