I really loved their japanese debut! And yes they are slowly coming into their own as a group soundwise. I already liked Doublast better than First Impact so I think they just needed time to figure out what fits all their voices better. Also they partnered with Sony Music Japan as their japanese label and they are going all out with this japanese debut. They sold out 2 days of their debut showcase there in minutes on a 7-9k capacity venue so they scheduled another showcase day in the same venue that also sold out. There are huge lines of people today in Japan to buy their merch and they have two videos already on The First Take! I can see how this debut is significant to Kep1er but I didn't like it 😔 My favorite song from them is Attention, a b-side that sounds like an anime opening 😁 so good!

I think your opinion on favorite Kep1er song might change after you get to Doublast. There are some real contenders on that album.

chaehyun isn't the leader, is yujin, but chae is still the center of kep1er and I agree she didn't got a lot of screentime.... but it looks like hikaru is the center for japanese release so maybe thats why..

They have definitely put forward Hikaru as the face of Kep1er in Japan. Something that is obvious in the First Take performances(Which you should check out, because they are brilliant!) Hikaru is very much the spokesperson for the group in Japan.
