Noooo, the video doesn't work! It says it doesn't exist...

Key wrote the lyrics to both Saturday Night and Eighteen. Zachary and Stacy are actual friends of his. Eighteen is a song to his 18 y/o self since he debuted with Shinee at 18 (international age 16 since shinee debuted may 2008 and his bday is sept)

I'm in LOVE with this album so much so that listened to it on repeat for like 3 weeks...

From what I understood from Eighteen was basically Key talking to his 18 y/o self which is also the age he debuted (kor. age). Telling himself not to give up and dream big, you’ve come this far as trainee so “don’t let it all fall down”. Just like a lot of ppl, Key has grown and changed over the past decade making him different from when he was 18. The lyrics “I would never see the end of my world with you”, I think what he means by “end of my world” refers to his success in life and how his 18 y/o self will never see that because, that version of him no longer exist since he has changed and grown as a person. However, with the lyrics “I would love to watch the end of my world with you” shows that Key wants to let his younger self know that he has made it and that it’ll be all okay so keep fighting and working for it.

Jul gave a great representation of what Key said about Eighteen. Life isn’t what you expect, but don’t worry it will work out and they’ll make it to the end together. Great listening party. I appreciate the continuity from the I Wanna Be review. I like the whole album—his vocals and the cohesiveness of the sound. In order of my preference: Bad Love, Helium, Eighteen, Saturday Night, Hate That, Yellow Tape. It’s a no skip album for me. Thank you. It is crazy how much you uploaded today. Take care.

Love your take on the phrase "end of my world" - makes it extra gorgeous! This is actually why this song resonated with me a lot tbh - I'm just a few months younger than Key and I definitely do wish I could tell my younger self how happy with me I'd become.

Yey was really looking forward to your listening party for this, it’s such a good album and so Key. I would definitely recommend checking out his stages for the bsides which he also performed with the exception of 18, as his outfits and choreography are amazing too and really compliment the songs and show more of his concept. The album covers and the album theme trailer too with the retro space theme are just outstanding. For his concert just before the album release there was also a video for another song that didn’t make it to the album in time but it was so good too- hoping that will get released at some point too.

Maybe I'm just comparing it to the Face/IWB album, which was an 11/10 for me and cemented Key as my favorite SHINee soloist, but Bad Love is more like an 8.5 overall. I really like all the songs but Eighteen, but none of them made me go "Oh wow I LOVE this," like I did with every song except Forever Yours on the Face Album. It might also be because the Face album was, on the whole, much brighter & more hopeful in tone & sound, whereas Bad Love (hmmm...the abbreviation for that...🏳‍🌈) is definitely darker and rather melancholy. 🤷‍♀️ I'm looking forward to hearing what Onew's got for us in his upcoming album!

Omg yesss this album got me into Key as a solo artist! So I can't really compare it to his earlier stuff (will definitely have to listen to more though) but I love this so much. I feel like the album overall has a very specific vibe that continues on but considering I love that vibe I can't complain xD I actually feel the same way with Taemin and Key; I really like Taemin's stuff from what I've heard and seen but holy moly Key might be my favourite now. I actually like 18 too but I gotta agree that I don't necessarily understand what it's about, probably something about himself when he debuted? I like the song but I feel like you need to be in a certain mood to enjoy it. Well either way I added most of the songs to my playlist immediately after listening to it for the first time so I think that says how much I liked them :>

yay subscribed to ur patreon to see this! (my first patreon subscription ever too!) helium is for sure my 100% favourite and it might be my favourite release this year over all? it latched onto me for sure and it was on repeat for months (until now and i dont know when its gonna stop). i love how confident it is and someone described it perfectly saying "it feels like im getting hit on by a song". i also have a super strong connection to eighteen, especially watching him perform it live, you can tell how much it meant to him (he said its his favourite)

btw! there is another all english song that he performed on his beyond live called "another life". its sooooo so so good and electronic-based and its such a shame it wasnt included on this one :( he said he was deciding if he wanted to add it on bad love mini or not but decided to keep it for his album next year, but its a bit sad because thematically its perfect for bad love :( i wish u could check it out! it should be on youtube if sm hasnt blocked it yet :''') if not, maybe a simple twitter search would have an mp3/mp4 file of it

Eighteen is quite literally addressed at his 18 y/o self, the age at which he debuted. About the song itself he said the meaning can be summarised as “It’s okay if the world ends because I already enjoyed it with you”
