This was such an important album for aespa as this would set the tone of who they are as singers and their discography as a group going forward and words fail to properly convey how I feel about this album other than...

Perhaps my favorite mini-album from any girl group? Ever? That's a bold statement and I'm gonna have to go back and check out some of my favorites and see how they stack up but... holy moly.

So when I first listened to this album going in I had no expectations of course because SM has been so hush-hush about Aespa’s full capability as a girl group. But when I tell you this is my favorite album from a girl group ever. Like OMG, they completely blew my expectations out of the water! The versatility and power that they showcased in this album are completely unmatched. This is the best debut album from any girl group and might just be one of my favorite albums of all time. Still, I find myself listening to all the songs every day because they are just that good and I don't ever get tired of them. I was so excited for you to listen to this album because I just knew you were going to be amazed! It was totally worth the wait 😊

Hey PD, just letting you know that when I try and click on the last three video links (so this one, LIGHTSUM, and NCT) it says the videos don’t exist! But yes I completely agree that this is one of my favourite girl group albums of all time, if not one of my favourite in all of kpop. It establishes a clear sound for them as a group but isn’t as alienating as their tt’s can be for some people. It also shows off their vocal prowess - like my god I have not heard people with their vocal abilities in a long time and the songs showcase that so perfectly. Ugh I could gush about this album forever

I didn't know what to think, but damn this is an amazing EP. Can you imagine how good (hopefully) their debut album will be? I'm just loving all their voices, though my bias is definitely Ningning

i loved this album, I wasn't so into their title tracks in the beginning, kinda weren't for me in the sense of listening casually, but after listening to savage and this EP i got to appreciate their previous songs and the group even more, my fav has to be lucid dream it's sooo addictive

I am curious, what would be your opinion on their song Forever. It is the traditional SMEnt girlgroup remake song of Yoo Young Jin, they released it in February (I think) and since it is remake (which Next Level is as well…) many people don’t consider it as their regular comeback etc, although they had promotions with that… I wanted to recommend this on live stream, but I don’t know, when that’s going to be. But if you watch that MV on your own, let me know your thoughts. Or I can remember myself in future during some live stream

YEPPI YEPPI is an amazing song! Loved seeing your reaction to it as it was the same as mine on first listen lol Lucid Dream is also a favourite! Their vocals on it are beautiful! Every time it comes on on my playlist though it takes me a second to realize it's Aespa because it sounds like it could be a song from a kr&b artist and not a girl group

Giselle used to be in choir, that’s why she sings that good. With her rapping, I still don’t know. SMEnt presents her as the main rapper, but since their debut I compare her with Karina and I have a feeling Karina is better. Good example was their rap lines in Savage. But on the other hand, you explained it here very well, why Giselle’s part sounded so weird. I don’t know if it is my favorite song, but the one, which I replay the most, is aenergy.

I know SM's gotten a rep for being very Western in production but I canNOT imagine "Yeppi Yeppi" in anything except kpop. One of my fave songs of the year. Loved your reaction to this, it's such a perfect album and manages to sell you on the aespa concept COMPLETELY.

I only vibe with lucid dream 🥲 wish i liked this album as much as everyone ! Don’t understand why since i like nct songs ?? But i agree with you with kpop group releasing too many songs a year i feel like only big company release never or a few average songs… that’s why i like how blackpink don’t release a LOT of songs (even tho they might took this to the extreme 💀)

I’ve waited for so long to hear what aespa is capable of and for me this album shows it perfectly. Production of every song is absolutely AMAZING and because of this aespa became one of my favourite groups right now. In terms of vocals my favorite is definitely Giselle, I know she’s a rapper but something about her voice is so unique that makes me want to hear her singing more and more. I’m reeeeeeealy excited to see what aespa will bring in the future!

ah this was so much fun to watch PD, just what I needed today to celebrate aespa's 1st group anniversary! I love this album just as much as you, it's definitely setting a really really high standard for a debut mini album. So glad to hear you consider yourself an aespa fan now (fandom name is MY btw since you asked early in the video), it was so fun to watch you vibing and freaking out a little over all these amazing bsides. Hope you'll get into some of aespa variety content as well, unfortunately they havent been to that many shows yet except for Knowing Bros, Weekly Idol or MMTG but I hope once they get their own reality/variety content you consider checking it out over here.

This album was so incredible, hands down one of my favorites. NCT were already my favorite bg and I'm not surprised their sister group has become my favorite girl group. Ningning is INSANE. Her voice pulls my focus SO much it's gorgeous. I do love Aespa's attitude and style a lot, it doesn't feel forced or gimmicky. I'll Make You Cry and Lucid Dream were definitely my favorites besides Savage.

I completely agree PD! Was blown away by aespa's Savage EP. The production on this release is off the charts and aespa is super talented. They do hip-hop styles in a way that feels more authentic than other kpop gg imo. For me, this is my favorite release of the year and aespa isn't even one of my ults (yet).

this ep is the most cohesive sounding ep I have heard probably in all of kpop. all of the songs have an insanely solid overarching sound while still sounding completely unique. like you said, they were all immediately rememberable after the first listen and that is such a rare experience nowadays. literally one of the best eps to come out of kpop in the past few years, or frankly, ever.

I’ve been waiting for this reaction! I’m still listening to this EP on repeat - every song is a banger. My favorite is probably YEPPI YEPPI, I get it stuck in my head constantly - it’s a true earworm but it also fills me with such inexplicable joy? I also did love I’ll Make You Cry and Lucid Dream. Lucid Dream was written in part by Hayley Kiyoko which I was really pumped about 😂 after this album I definitely can say I really love aespa, I also wasn’t totally sure what to think of them from their 2 singles before but they’re really amazing.
