I think both twice teams did exceptionally well, but my favorite was team 1 just for the overall charisma and energy from the group, I think now looking back I do enjoy a lot of the second team but they felt a bit less energetic comparing the 2. While I thought both YoY teams did very well, i personally think that both HYLT teams were very underwhelming, team 1 didn't do necessarily bad?? I think we had highlights like youngeun and Xiayan but overall they felt just a bit one line ?? like they had no energy ( except these 2 that I mentioned) while team 2........ was just COMPLETE CHAOS, i think they has definitely very skilled trainees that could've done an amazing job, and we see that just immaculate performance of Jia, while the rest of the group just looked lost........it was complete chaos omg

Most people say Chaehyun reminds them of a mix of Wendy and Irene(kinda makes sense, since she's a former SM Rookie) and also Gfriend's Yuju! So for your question - I would actually go for another option: since You Dayeon had first pick which means theoretically I do, I would pick cell of high ranking and one of mid ranking for my group. You need the skills and the attention grabbing auras from the high rankers, but TOO many of them pull attention away from the group as a whole if people can't work together well (ie, you can't really have 9 "centers"). I would find a middle cell who had different charms than me as to hopefully create an interesting but harmonious blended group. Also side note, if you're already getting emotional now, the 2nd round of eliminations is gonna GUT you. The 1st and 3rd ones are a cakewalk in comparison. 😭

Since PD asked what we would do if we are in You Dayeon's situation, personally, I would chose a team based on what the mission is and what the benefit is. If the mission is that the whole team receives the same grade/points and the whole team gets the same benefit, I would create an "avengers" sort of team, so that my team can place 1st and the whole team gets the benefit points (regardless if I stand out). But if its a mission where each member of the team is graded individually, I would pick people who would be "less of a rival."

Yes or Yes (red team) > Yes or Yes (green team) - I think that the red team, as a team was more balanced, whereas green team, had obvious standouts in the team like Ziyin, Wen Zhe and Ririka, and Hyerim main vocal I think was the deciding factor as she did better then SeIn. HYLT (Jia) > HYLT (Yujin) - I personally think Jia and Dayeon just ATE everyone up in both teams, no one came close to them on stage. I do think youngeun, xiayan, Yurina and Yujin made the difference as they where way more stable then the other team. overall I think Yujin's team won purely because they made less mistakes overall. but I have to admit that I was ALSO very very disappoint with the HYLT teams and what they showed esp for their top9 ranks. and overall all rounders and have to say Yes Or Yes (Red) > Yes Or Yes (Green) > HYLT (Yujin) > HYLT (Jia) os the rank I would give the teams in the episode

Loved both Yes or Yes teams. In my opinion team 1 was the best! For HYLT honestly both teams were disappointing. Think it just came down too who made less mistakes.

Among the YOY teams, I think team 1 deserved the win, their overall performance was superior for me. But I still like team 2 better, cause my heart goes where Doah goes lmao. And among the HYLT teams, I only have to say that Jia is a slayer!

This early on, I would choose a team I could shine in. It's the very first mission and every contestant wants to be seen for their individual talents especially with MNET having their favorites that they give all the screen time to. Although I did feel for Dayeon the way she expressed her desperation kind of rubbed me the wrong way, but I also can't fault her for striving after her dreams. She's a talented girl and I can see great things for her.

I actually liked jiwons killing part better. It felt a lot more natural to me. And it truly did capture me like that opening part should. I loved doahs too, but it teetered on over-expressive to me. Jiwon is the center of cherry bullet and u can really see why in their performances

As for your question of choosing cells to team up, I would do what hyerim did: I would pick a cell with high profile trainees if possible one with top 9 members that fit the concept of the song I'm thinking of selecting (she chose the cell with ayana as she was in top 9) and then another cell with average ranking trainees that also fit and could do a good performance but not overshadow me (hyerim choose the cell with Moana (J3), Chiayi (C12) and Jiwon (K11). And also for both cases I would also try not choosing any cell that would have trainees that could overlap with the position I wanted to take (hyerim was the main vocal so she chose cells that had no potential main vocals...maaaybe chaehyun could be it but she went for vocal 1 and not main anyways). The judges evaluate the team effort to give the points but you still need to grab the attention of the viewers individually to get people to vote for you and your cell to survive. Hyerim didn't know those interim rankings that appeared it in the beginning of the episode before any of this but she was below the cutline of elimination before her performance aired and she definitely grabbed my attention to make me vote for her with how she made her team so I started to vote for her cell AND she got the bonus points so that also gave motivation to try and save her. I also started to vote for Chaehyun's cell not only because I liked her vocals but also because of her attitude and how she was the key team player of her group. As for the performances, the Yes or Yes teams were both the best performances of the night but team 1 was my favorite of the two because I liked their vocals better. For the HYLT performances it was tough since both made a lot of mistakes. Team 1 had less mistakes that's why they won but if hypothetically both teams had none of their glaring mistakes I would probably give the win to team 2.

watching this after the finale is a different kind of pain lmao . im glad ur sympathetic to sein tho !! mnet kinda screwed her over with this edit trying to make her seem lazy when in reality she's a 16 year old who had to deal with this show and school (after they left the show, one of the eliminated contestants talked about how little time the girls actually got to sleep so the producers editing sein being tired as evidence of her being lazy is even more ://). but anyway very excited that we're getting into the missions !! yes or yes team 1 is still one of my favorite performances on the show and there so many more good performances in store that i cant wait for pd to react to :D

i think in a show like this i would choose a group that i could shine in rather than one that will win. Even if your team does win it won't save you from elimination and it does not mean that you will gain a lot of fans, and gain peoples attention, but if you really shine on a team (take Yurina in the fancy preformance for example) that will gain you a lot of attention for your talent, and will make people support you and in a show like this, nothing matters more than fan support. Shows like this unfortunetly are not based on talent alone, but is mostly based on popularity and who gets your attention the most.

Damn, this show just keeps making me cry. I feel like every episode I am going to watch with PD will make me feel the finale and eliminations again... I liked Team 1 better as well, Doah is way too good. Hyerim as well. Team 2 was also really good, I really like Jiwons killing part actually. HYLT was just dissapointing in general. I would have actually given Team 2 the win because JiA and Dayeon were so damn good, they had a higher ceiling even though Team 1 was more consistent in what the members did, their good parts weren't as good as JiA and Dayeon. I really liked Youngeun in this, her singing was so stable, her charisma is great and her dancing is really solid. For your question regarding the choice of team, I would have chosen like she did and gotten the best cells. The difference is that I would have no problem with taking a smaller part and making it work for me. Sometimes the small parts that are executed better or are more charismatic catch me more than a mediocre killing part. Really love the show, and I really like your empathetic but still logical thinking here!

I was actually surprised you kinda disliked Jiwon's part. I actually liked Jiwon way more than Doa in the beginning part of the YES or YES stages. I kinda thought that Doa was trying a little too hard there which made it a bit too unnatural for me. However I thought Jiwon was right on point there and I really could see that she has the center experience from being the center of cherry bullet. But regarding the HYLT stages I'm 100% with your opinion. Team 1 did less bad than Team 2 as a whole but in Team 2 both Dayeon and Jia did better than everyone on Team 1 and both had the highest ceiling during that performance in my opinion.

To answer PD's question at the 37-18 min mark, if I were in that position that Dayeon was, I would choose the team that has strongest chance of winning, over choosing a place were I could shine. Since this is about survival, and while showing off ones stills helps individual, if the whole team wins, you survive longer from that round onwards anyways.

that Dayeon situation, i think i will wait till next ep to say my points because more context is added for you then,I agree with everything you said about the how you like that teams and wenzhe i felt exactly the same but i feel like rewatching the show i feel less bad for some of them now than I did then and u may see why maybe not as u watch the rest of the show, teamwork is a big thing for these kinds of groups you may be suddenly paired with people you have hardly spoken to and you need to be able to work with them in a way that makes the whole group shine, your individual talent is just not enough for this, I know people have been saying to watch this show open mindedly because of editing or translation and I agree but I also think watching it while evaluating the effects girls may have or are having on their team is more important and how the others react as a result, for example there was a lot of talk about people saying Sein was evil edited because of being tired cause of school etc which idk could be true to an extent, but i don't think it's possible for them to fake wenzhe's reaction, she was so obviously upset and frustrated by it i think it's a disservice to her and her feelings to dismiss these kinds of things as just evil editing. I think in a few years once sein like u said grows up more she could be so amazing an that's why i don't think hr and some others are ready to be in a temporary group that's probably going to last like less than 3 years, they need to be able to pump out impactful new music and conent fast and not just for her but for others rarely being able to get the choreo or lyrics etc right, making it hard for others to work, just isn't goign to work for this kind of group

Not saying you should watch all the bits about the voting, but now that the whole thing is over, I do think it's important to understand what Mnet did and how it worked to understand the results. Initially, people had to vote for cells, so if they liked someone they voted for the cell she was in, and so even if only one or two members were the most popular, the others got carried along because of their cell system. Later on, there was a change so they had to vote for three girls, one from each group (K, J, C), which also helped a lot of people out because 50% of the weight came from Korean votes, and the rest from global voting. And THEN, there was another change, where things were switched up completely. Won't spoil it, but it had a lot of people unhappy. Unrightfully so if you ask me, but I acknowledge that it was regretful for many of the girls.

I love Sunmi but to this day I still don't really understand her comment towards Seungeun at the end of the HYLT team 2 performance. I don't think Seungeun's singular mistake caused everyone else to mess up. Not only was she barely off beat to begin with (and the group recovered right away), but pretty much all of the other mistakes the team made was later in the song. Long after the intro. Just doesn't really feel fair to me when everything else we saw indicated that Seungeun did a great job as leader (especially considering she's the maknae in her own group)

There are some things I disagree with on judges or producers of any show. Some things I kind of chalk it up to either: you had to be there or they see something I don't. Things captured on camera don't look the same in person and vice versa. Now if I were take a guess at the Seung Eun mistake throwing everyone off, I think it's more of a mental thing. They may have "recovered" but they were definitely shaken by it. They can no longer perform with a clear head and mind. They had previously performed it so well before, perhaps even perfectly, but making a small mistake, especially at the BEGINNING... I think the idea is "it's less likely that the others would have messed up if you hadn't messed up the beginning" and I think there's some validity to that argument though technically you can't prove it unless you can time travel.

youngeun is/was my main pick and honestly i think if she had been given the main rapper role instead of cai bing (bc she auditioned for that, and then did main vocal instead) she would have had a huge chance of pulling in more attention, since hylt is a much more rap driven than vocal driven song. but considering, she was the main vocal, her performance wasnt as eye catching as jias. but i think she still did a great job as main vocal for this performance. i think out of a lot of the girls, youngeun is one of the few contestants who could easily excel being the main of any position. shes amazing in rap (even though we really only see it during kick it, she auditioned to be main rapper so she must be confident in her rap abilities), a phenomenal vocalist, and a great dancer. i think if she had been given the opportunity to show off as main rapper like jia had, theres every chance she couldve outshined her. but given the position she had, she did very well, even if she wasnt as eye catching as jia this performance. (dont get me wrong, i love jia and the two's friendship, i think shes amazing)

Gonna comment, and will edit as I go through the watch-along! Lee Nayeon (The Fifth Season Team 2 member) looks like EVERGLOW Yiren, in my opinion lol Edit #1: As an answer to the question you asked in around 35:00~ mark, I would say that I would still stick in the winning team even if I had the fewest lines. It doesn't seem to be right to switch teams (in the presumption that we can go back time to do so) and land on a weaker team but I get the spotlight — every trainee has their good and not-so-good points, and joining a weaker team to make yourself look strong seems not right. Not everybody has had the same amount of training as I am, or as they had. Also, this is a survival program. I would always choose to stick with the winning team even if I had smaller parts. Edit #2: When you made your comments about Kim Chaehyun, I made similar remarks to a friend of mine about her. Chaehyun is someone who I thought that would be needed in a group. She's someone who is sensitive to what others are feeling, and is not afraid to speak up if something feels off. Edit #3: Finally, FINALLY saw the YES OR YES performances. I still would say I like Team 2 the best for me even if some of their faces were a little too stiff, lol. I'm just being biased because they personally didn't do that bad and with the way the episode is edited, Sein's mistakes are not noticeable.

I agreed with the final choice for the Twice Yes or Yes, the team (I forget the number -- the one that went first) did have a better and catchier main vocal and overall were slightly better. But I liked both the Yes or Yes performances. I also thought team 1 (with SXT) had a better overall performance but Ji Ah really caught my attention most. Ji Ah and Yu Jin were the ones that caught my attention.

The red YoY team's overall performance was better but it was mainly due to a better main vocalist. It hurts my heart because I really like some of the girls on the green team, i think the killing part girl did very well and I love Xu Ziyin (the girl you said her vocals were really good in green YoY team). Her vocals are absolutely incredible and i don't know if this show will ever give her the opportunity to show the true range she has. (watching with pd so haven't seen up to finale). ALSO xia yan, the second rapper from hylt, is a vocalist!! And a really good one. like i remember her from youth with you and literally didnt recognise her in this show til i read her name, but I guess she chose to go with rapping, which she is also really good at it seems. Probably a good choice in a sea of vocalists among the contestants. Finally, the killing part of YoY red team also reminded me of nayeon for so long, i could never not see it. And the green team's short haired girl is the one that reminded me of jihyo so I felt like things aligned for the twice performances there haha. And jia looks a lot like yeji to me.

You should definitely watch all of the Produce seasons!!! And in my opinion, it's best to watch it in order, since they're sometimes connected through some things f.e. cameos etc. And they also talk about and show some of the progress from earlier seasons, so there might be spoilers, if you don't watch it in order...
