Squid game is really good!

Liz

idk if it fits in horror but i really liked Kingdom and Alice in Borderland (which is similar to squid game, they are both series

Anonymous

Sweet home is SO good. Like seriously.

claireisuche

Hell is other people still horrifies me

Lihzgr

Forgotten is just amazing !

EmmyD610

Strangers from hell !

Anonymous

The wailing

Marcel

Strangers From Hell even tho its more psychothrilleresque and The Guest were really good. Since i only have access to whats on Netflix in my Country two films i can remember watching were The Call (really good) and Svaha (average)

Wodgenia

I don't think it's really horror, even thought zombies are part of the "horror imagery", but I would say Kingdom ? For Movies I would say Angel Heart freaked the fuck out of me (but it' a USA movie).

Maria

For Film: The Wailing is the best - it’s WILD but also very meticulous with how the storyline occurs and A Tale of Two Sisters is a classic. For TV: Kingdom is the best at horror, Squid Game is a bit slower moving and different with intense moments mixed in but I highlyyy recommend it! it’s well done.

Squid game and Strangers from Hell

Litzy Azua

Uncanny counter is really good 👍

Noem

I'm watching Mouse right now and it's freaky! It's more of a crime thriller but it gave me nightmares haha (k-drama)

Caitlin

The Guest and Strangers From Hell are always good choices - the Guest is definitely very scary - Kingdom and Sweet home are SOOOO GOOD!

Anonymous

Sweet home and squid game are so good!!

tubatu

YES PLEASE

Anonymous

It is more of a thriller, but I enjoyed Sell Your Haunted House the series

mssmercedes

I'm in the same boat as you I'm a complete horror baby but I made it through sweet home and squid game I wouldn't even say they're scary as opposed to disturbing. Alice in Borderland is another one I would put in that same category but if it's truly frightening I might not have seen it 🤣🤣🤣. I've heard strangers from hell is really good and a true horror.

Viviena

I usually hate horror but i LOVED Kingdom. The political side of it is top notch. The type of show where yeah, there are zombies but they are like a force of nature and the real enemies are human greed and incompetence. Much recommended!

Lee Ah-reum (ALLIE)

Wasn't too scary but if you want a kpop themed horror there is "White: The curse of melody" And also a very acclaimed thriller called "Parasite" that came out in the last year or so

Taylor H

Strangers from hell is a really great show

Daniela Padilla

PLEASEEE SQUID GAME!! ITS TOO GOOD

JustCakie

I wouldn’t call it a ‘horror’ per se but Extracurricular is an excellent psychological thriller series. And I hard vouch for squid game and sweet home (and Alice in borderland if you’re willing to dabble in japanese)

Anonymous

Alice in borderland and squid game !!

Milli Mey

Strangers from hell is absolutely amazing. It's more of a psycho thriller than actual horror and it really plays with your mind. I recommend this one more than anything else and I've watched a lot of crime, horror and thriller

emotionless bot

I agree with Strangers from Hell (it managed to be a HORROR series without any supernatural elements which is just crazy, i still shit my pants everytime i think about it), Alice in Borderland (I honestly feel like this is more better than Squid Game when it comes to plot and execution), and White: Melody of Death. BUT i prefer you read all the synopsis of the recommended drama and choose the one that intrigued you the most! :) I HAVE NO DOUBT YOU'LL PICK A GREAT ONE.

Y

Sweet home isn't really scary but it's pretty good you should watch it

Anonymous

Not horror but Extracurricular is really good, also quite violent and the setting of the story is great (same as the acting)

Anonymous

For recent releases, The 8th Night was hella scary for me, but totally recommended.

NM

Squid game is good and train to busan is a classic

Summer

the Korean movie The Call is like thriller and sorta horror in the way that the acting have me nightmares

Claire

Alice in Borderland (not korean but japanese)

Anonymous

Definitly Stranger from Hell

R.S

Oh I can’t wait for you two watch both shows I’m obsessed but I’m bad with this genre as a scaredy cat but I look forwards to watching along

Dubu

Squid Game isn’t horror at all @everyone

Rosa

Watching squid game today and is not horror. It's interesting tho

hayun lee

sweet home and squid game arent really horrors, sweet home wasnt for me (the webtoon is miles better) but squid game is solid! for horror though aside from a tale of two sisters i really enjoyed the call (2020), strangers from hell (drama, 2019), the wailing (2016), and thirst (2009)

Jennifer Hiltz

I’m also not a horror person, but I really liked Sweet Home and the special effects (also Song Kang is 😘👌). It’s definitely not hardcore, but I think it’s the characters that make it for me.

Anonymous

MIXNINE was pretty scary to watch /s

Karina Kim

You should watch sweet home

Thilde

Squid Game and Sweet Home are both great! Seen a few people mention Extracurricular and I would definitely recommend that too. Like others mentioned its not really horror (tbf neither is Squid Game) but still really good

Thilde

True but PD mentioned it in the post so makes sense everyone is bringing it up

Jake Twohig

I am actually a big horror fan. I’d say the best SK horror I’ve seen are mostly the more famous ones. Like The Wailing, Train to Busan, A Tale of Two Sisters and Thirst There are quite a few I would put in the ‘good but not amazing’ category like: Memento Mori, Mimic, R-Point, Phone, Into the Mirror, Bunshinsaba. Then there’s like, the ones that are genuinely bad but I still enjoy. Like Death Bell, Red Shoes, 0.0mhz, Cinderella and Doll Master. Like I wouldn’t recommend any of those but I still had fun watching them. Oh, these are all movies by the way. For TV shows, I’ve only seen Kingdom and Sweet Home.

Mihir Joshi

If you are looking into proper Horror Thriller kdrama!!! Squid Game and Strangers From Hell definitely!!Especially since you are also watching Sea of Hope right now on patreon and strangers from hell has Lee Dongwook in a completely diff character!!! And ofc Squid Game is amazing ,it has the almighty Lee Jungjae, the legend in the show ,plus the show is so fast paced and thrilling!!!No wonder it is the most popular show on netflix right now

Anonymous

Train to Busan was good.

Anonymous

Def strangers from hell

SB

Sweet Home is SOOOOO GOOD

Sam Majeski

It’s a lot more action than horror, but the Uncanny Counter on Netflix is soooo good and I think they’re planning on a second season

minkit

Alice in Borderland is amazing, one of my favorite shows but I do want to mention that it is Japanese and not Korean

Anna Bo

I would also say Squid Game. Although it isn't a horror show it still kinda plays with your head and makes you question your decisions

Oyku T.

Goedam was very interesting for me, episodes range 5-13 mins and every episode is a Korean urban legend, it has a second season coming up

Amanda Araujo

i heard a lot about strangers from hell tho I haven't watched yet because im a scared bitch so i usually don't watch horror stuff but i think this one and also Squid Game are some that i can actually handle

dani

The Call is my FAVORITE Korean horror movie!! The actors are amazing and the storyline keeps you on your toes. Such a unique concept you would love it!!

Anonymous

Strangers from Hell is one of my absolute favorites. It takes a bit for things to start happening, but there are so many twists and turns that I found myself fully entertained the entire time.

N

ok this isn't korean one but it's a french movie called Martyrs and mannnn this movie gives me ptsd😂

Anonymous

Strangers are from hell is really good

juls

I dont think its horror but Save me

Dubu

That was my very first kdrama! Been meaning to rewatch it

1234567

sweet home and save me with ok taecyeon is pretty unsettling

Anonymous

Strangers from hell creeped my mother out, but I thought it was so interesting and fun to watch.

kaylee franco

a tv show will be the great escape, there are some episodes that i was sooo scared it is funny but the second season was really scary

Tia

Strangers from hell is seriously good lee dongwook is creepy

kaylee franco

a series in netflix called strangers from hell is really gruesome and scary like i’m too scared to watched alone so i didn’t finish it

newcarsmell

I´m not sure if you´ve already seen them, but the Whispering Corridors films are definitely worth looking into. From what I understand, the first film was pretty important because it pushed the Korean film industry forward and also explored some pretty taboo subject matter.

murray roman

The movie Train to Busan or the TV series Kingdom

Darkqueen

Strangers from hell or The Guest are both really good

Anonymous

Save Me is a great thriller drama

jules

a tale of two sisters was a really creepy movie!! rlly interesting and it had a cool twist

Dhyani

strangers from hell...

Taija Rae

Has anyone mentioned 'Gonjiam: Haunted Asylum'? That's a good one!

itsadeeky

Strangers from hell or Save Me are rly good shows! Both keep you very interested in each episode but especially strangers from hell gave me goosebumps.

Anonymous

This is not entirely korean but its worth checking out: "the medium" the movie is in thai but the production of it is a collab between Banjong Pisanthanakun, Na-Hong-jin and Choi cha won... from what i've seen it is shot quite well and the topic is interesting :3.

grace

OMG PLS START SQUID GAME PD

Rebecca Le Minh

I know it's not horror but I'm more into thrillers so if you want a nice thriller with a killer psychopath and killer casting (pun intended) you can watch The Call on Netflix. Really loved that storyline

sandra

YES WATCH SQUID GAME! there's also strangers from hell which is more of a psychological thriller but it is good

carlakoala

Kingdom: a zombie show which is quite refreshing, great actors and story line, very intense and gripping, mix of drama, action, thriller, horror, romance, historical, political. The Wailing is also amazing, a little weird but exciting and fresh.

Tell Me Something(텔 미 썸딩)

Ashlyn

I’m not one for horror movies and all that jazz, but one I did watch was the film *#Alive* (Korean: #살아있다; RR: #Saraitda). It came out last year on Netflix and it’s based on Matt Taylor’s *Alone*. I guess it’s your familiar zombie apocalypse movie, but for someone who doesn’t watch a lot of scary stuff I was kept interested.

k_s_r28

YESSSS PLEASE LET'S GO SQUID GAME it's crazy good

Joanne

movie : forgotten ; its a psychological mystery thriller and it's scary but also hurts your brain it's really good and like a show that was not mentioned alot: extracurricular ; would not completely say it was like horror or something but really good and like different and scary in some ways but loved it so much

Anonymous

Strangers from hell is a personal favourite. I prefer squid game over sweet home but if you’re open to watching a Japanese Series as well, I would recommend Alice in Borderland. Like squid game, the characters have to play games but I find it more complex and has more twists than squid game which is good but a bit too straightforward for my taste but it’s up to you, PD! Looking forward to seeing what you choose 😊

rikki

I SWEAR FORGOTTEN IS ON A DIFFERENT LEVEL.

Cynicalsoulx

I would recommend Kingdom. It has two seasons and it’s really good!

Jade

The wailing

Anonymous

strangers from hell is my favorite hands down!

N

oh yes, forgotten made me shook

Daniel Secundino

Omg Sweet Home is so good! You definitely watch it. Squid Game isn't really a horror but it is still really good! A lot of mind fuck scenes tho

holls

I LOVE a Tale of Two Sisters as well as I Saw The Devil! They’re my two fave Korean horror movies besides Train To Busan but I think you’ve said before you’ve seen that? But yes Squid Game is awesome I’d love to see you react (or even just hear your thoughts if you watch in your own time).

Sage

If Kingdom counts, then Kingdom lol

Bevin

Sweet home and squid game were both great!

Ana Bermudez

Kingdom and Extracurricular aren't really horror but more like thrillers! Absolutely recommend them both!

SB

PD SWEET HOME OMG PLEASE YOU'D LOVE THE HELL OUT OF THAT SHOW

Chloe Borley-Evans

Lots of these are similar so I'm just gonna throw The Witch into the mix cause I fuck with that movie so much

Anonymous

the call was so good

Suzanne Austen

Movie: The Call , the plot is so interesting and the ending is so good

Suzanne Austen

TV Show: Strangers from Hell, this one really gave me creeps especially because of Lee Dong Wook, like this whole show doesn't sit right with me I felt so creeped out

Anonymous

squid game!! it's not really a horror but it's sooooo good

rk2000

I feel like you might enjoy Sweet home more! But they're both really good!

Chloe

scariest one ive seen was I saw the devil but that was more thriller

Sarahvtae

I recommend the movie "V.I.P" from 2017 with Lee Jong Suk in it...it's not technically "horror", but it's REALLY good!!!

Kim Dang

That was my first taste of korean horror! I agree that it is more of a psychological thriller but it was still scary for me

EmberRain

There is this show on Netflix called The Guest and dear lord it is amazing. It's creepy, unnerving, and even heartbreaking at times. Not to mention it has some truly amazing film moments that I know you would nerd out over. I don't see anyone talk about this show much, it's so so good!

Anonymous

Squid Game is amazing!!! I would love to see your reaction 😍🤩

Sarah Marvi

I'm more into psychological horror stuff so like Tale of Two Sisters (2003) left a big big impression on me. You'll definitely appreciate the camerawork, the visual aesthetic and the eerie/sad soundtrack ooff *amazinggg*
