All this show has done has make me want a La Ri Ma spin-off. Anyone else?

Also, it's just made me SUPER conflicted on dating bans. What do you guys think?

I'm sorry but I can't stop laughing at the way they all lool like they are like the distant relatives at a wedding reception

Bring tissues while y'all watch episode 11...it's a doozy 🤧

The parents were all included in the webtoon, with a really angsty story of how Maha's parents neglected her and let the mom's grandfather verbally abuse her bc he hates women. It was so elaborate, and for the show to take everything out and just have the mom be some random orphanage owner is so out of left field. That being said- everyone read the webtoon at least once plsss

It would have been nice if they'd been able to make this a 16 episode show and spend more time on building the characters' stories, interactions, and nurturing the audience's emotional investment. I do like parts of course but it somehow feels both slow and rushed in certain moments which is an impressive achievment. Also I've only watched on my phone so I couldn't hear how good/bad the audio of the performances was but it's sad if they haven't been presented in decent audio quality as overall the performances seemed like they would be fairly decent to watch/listen to even without the show.

Yeah, them never singing was one of my problems with this show. I also thought about the musical thing at some point, it'd make so much sense and add to the cheesiness in a good way. I also agree with them being too invested in being together when they've only had like 1 1/2 dates? Ryeok also just got over the thing about if it comes out that Maha will be the one that takes the brunt of the had, because she's the girl and literally just got into the industry. He's been at this for 6 year and Shax is one of the biggest groups. It'd be like someone from Exo dating someone from Pixy

When Ryeok and Ma Ha said they wanted to go public that's when I was 100% done with this show. Maybe it's also because I strongly dislike the couple but that's just so irresponsible and unreal when we think about the actual industry because even the most established couples, like the ones who's been dating for months, sometimes years, rarely come public if they're not outed in some way, and even then they don't actually expose their relationship ever (besides Hyuna and Dawn, but look at what they've gone through before getting to that point). And the fact that Maha has like a 2 months-long career she's willing to ruin for this? nah that was just the most stupid thing they could've gone for

I'm too far removed from romance to find most of this appealing, but I'm watching it with PD and Blair just for funsies edit: PD said a lot of what I feel about idols dating and also the show, which I agree with

You guys are gonna need tissues for the next episode

it makes me so mad how this show wastes characters and storylines omg La Ri Ma has become one of my favorite characters and she just dont get any fucking time i also agree with dating bans for the first like two/three years of career, like if kpop fans specially koreans werent so obssessive i would disagree with dating bans like how in western culture singers date people all the time and even if sometimes some get a lot of hate, most fans dont give a shit and the singers dont get their career ruined for it but in kpop thats totally unrealistic right now and they shouldnt risk not only their dreams but also their group mates dreams to be over just because of some guy or girl they met

So I disagree. I don’t think dating bans should exist at all(been a kpop fan for over 10 years so I’ve seen all the dating scandals and crazy fans and that context doesn’t change my answer). The fan culture won’t change if companies keep doing the same shit. The fan culture will change overtime if companies get rid of dating bans. It’ll be rough for a while but it will work. It slowly already is. If you compare how many celebrities are publicly dating now vs 10 years ago, it’s incredibly different and the ones doing it now aren’t immediately being cancelled or losing their fans. It will slowly spread down from the “older” groups to the “newer” ones. It is so toxic that these young people are forced to not mature romantically or sexually in a healthy way. It is the biggest problem I have with idol culture. I know they do it in secret anyway but secrets breed shame and toxic behavior no matter how good and perfect you think your idols are. The only way you combat that is to normalize healthy dating relationships. They don’t have to even be public. Like companies can be firm about protecting their idols privacy AND be firm about their idols dating by supporting them. And apologizing to fans for dating NEEDS TO STOP. That only confirms that they did something “wrong” which is a bunch of bull. I absolutely love that Hyuna and Dawn went against their company when they were revealed to be dating. They do not try to cover anything about their relationship on social media, fully supported by Pnation and ITS WORKING. They’re pioneers and it is trial and error but they are proving that dating does not mean the death of your career. They have been getting support from Korean fans along the lines of “I didn’t think I’d like seeing my idol in a relationship but it’s actually really nice and I support them now.” If one relationship supported by a company, allowed on social media, and on tv shows, can create this much change, imagine how the idol dating culture could shift over the next 10 years.

gasoline is naturally colorless, gas companies just add coloring and usually it's green or yellow for regular grade gasoline

Also......Eun Jo and Annie dated for 3000 days? That's a little over 8 years which means they were.....10? 12? when they started dating?

Emi R.

Ooo ooo theoretical math: say Eunjo debuted at 20yo. He was caught dating by Ryeok maybe a couple months before the comeback he disappeared from at Shax’s 3 year mark so he could be 23yo. 3000 days is 8.2 years so they started dating at 14 or 15. But yeah pretty young either way! They would have been in middle school.

Edward Lee

All that assumes they're the same age? Any younger than him then that would mean Annie's skeezy ceo was selling her off at illegal level ages which adds a whole criminal element

Connor (Cyndr)

I was not expecting to hear a duet of IU's My Old Story on this show wow

For me, the dating ban has already become one of the many Korean oddities. Such as a weed ban, gambling ban etc. As a Westerner, I am outraged that an adult cannot go to a casino and play with his own money. Same with smoking or kpop dating. It's weird for me, but that's how they live there. I mean, we can't change the whole country and the psychology of an entire nation. We are what we are, they are what they are. I don't believe that dating ban will ever disappear as long as the kpop culture exists. We can only watch and try not to worry too much
