I dove (hehe) into this without knowing ANYTHING about the premise and it is FASCINATING and it is EXACTLY what I needed right now. Thank you to the people who suggested this.

If it's your first time I will advise you that it's not particularly a funny or entertaining show in the "traditional sense" but if you find therapy in seeing simple things, little moments, quietness, then hell yeah join us on this ride!

I was actually planning on recommending Begin Again S4, because it is really the definition of a healing show but the production staff of Sea of Hope are from Begin Again too so it's almost the same..they also almost have the same concept except the bar thingy..

That was so calm and relaxing. Really enjoyable to watch! Loved the Goblin/도깨비 reunion as well with Kim Go-eun and Lee Dong-wook. Btw: I believe you said Sea of Hope is just 6 episodes - it'll be 10 overall, it's just still airing atm

At 0:54:34 the translators note says “the program title in korean and “it’s the bar we wished for” are homophonic” and no matter how long I looked at it I kept reading it as homophobic and was extremely confused for a hot minute there 😂😭

Yes I love this show! I’m a shawol and a huge fan of Kim Go Eun (literally the best human being on earth) so this is perfect for me and it’s so healing!! Enjoy PD!

ahhhh I am so glad you checked out and enjoy this show! and I love having both the sea and mountains together which intensified when I spent a day in Thun (in Switzerland) in winter and gosh the amount of peace it gave me while looking at the snowy mountains as it connects to the wide lake that grew from its ice. yes that is exactly what a peace of mind feels like to me

PD, a double boiler is what you use to heat something up (usually to melt) in a bowl or pot sitting on top of a pot of boiling water. So in the top bowl you're warming up temperature-sensitive ingredients that require gentle, indirect heat.

I don't necessarily miss smoking but I really miss the friends I smoked with. My faculty has a smoking area where I met these friends and whenever I went to smoke someone was always there for me to talk to. I quit smoking right after I graduated and because of covid I haven't seen these friends since. I really miss these people. Speaking of the show, this show really gives off the vibe similar to Everyone's Kitchen. The wholesome, warm, cozy vibe.

As every episodes passes by, it gets better and better, you're in for a fantastic therapeutic ride.

PD if you like this type of concept, I feel like Youn's Stay will also be a good healing show (it's like sea of hope but without the music - korean actors and actresses running a hanok guesthouse for foreigners). The cast consists of Choi Wooshik, Park Seojoon, Jung Yumi, Lee Seojin, and Youn Yuhjung.

Jukjae is hands down my favorite korean artist. And he's fairly lowkey (especially internationally). But I love that so many people cover 'let's go see the stars'. It seems such a universally loved song. Especially for softer, healing moments like this show.

YES!!! I've been thinking about recommending this for awhile now, so I'm happy some one did! Since I started watching Sea of Hope, I've been thinking that it reminded me of Youn's Stay and Begin Again!

I’ve been wanting to check this out so I’m so glad PD is watching! The editing is definitely a little choppy, with no introductions like PD said. I hope that improves in the later episodes, but it doesn’t really detract too much. Does anyone know how this is currently doing ratings wise in Korea? I remember reading an article when it first aired that the ratings were low despite this star studded cast, which is such a shame!
