Also I'm so glad people are tuning in for the series :) We've been having a blast watching so I'm glad some people watch along with us!

yuyu

thank you PD i was waiting for this... have a good rest on the weekend

dani

YES super excited!! You’re the best!

ahh i’m excited to watch this one. also, getting so excited about one thing that u totally forgot to post smt else sounds like smt i would do unfortunately

Ugh how forgot how this ep annoyed me. 1st off it annoyed me how they acted only the black guy to learn English, like nahh all y’all can learn English not just him😂 and yi-seo was so wrong for basically telling little brother to show if he seriously liked her. Like we all know she didn’t like him so her saying that “ if u really like me take over your dad’s company” legit giving him false hope when u know you doing like him that way. And ughh I remember I used to be so annoyed how she would forcefully follow saeroyi around and get in his business like girl back off 😂 and I lost it when u mentioned how different soo-ha and ho-jin looked throughout the years but saeroyi looks the same all that time I never once reminded that lol. I mean same haircut and all.

i just finished watching and realized how much i agree with what you two were saying at the end about saeroyi not seeming like he’s actually in love with either of them. i’ve seen park seojoon in a different drama and he sold the romance way more in that one, but maybe it’s just how he played saeroyi in particular (like his interpretation of the character may have (somewhat unintentionally) influenced how he portrayed the romance aspect in this one). OR it could just be saeroyi lmao, it does fit his character imo

It's my 3rd time watching this series and I'm enjoying it with your perspective. Saeroyi had to have been stunted emotionally with going to prison and then working, so I never thought it would be realistic for him to act as a normal romantic lead. I don't think his character is ready and he is too focused on revenge. But I was always for Yiseo, since she seemed completely on his side while Soo Ah always had divided loyalties.

gosh is my second time watching the show and i still love the tension it makes you feel for so long in the episode and now that you mentioned i do get those aroace vibes from him but i think its mostly a characteristics of his character that he doesnt know how to interact and fully express himself with other people so most of the time it doesn't show on his face when he likes the person but you also made me thinking that maybe his growth in that sense really stopped when he went to prison and he's still stuck in that high school love mindset

flowerbit

I honestly feel like at this stage in Saeroyi’s life/character growth, he really just like doesn’t have a serious interest in love, and thus is totally clueless to how yi seo feels about him lol. But yeah, this episode is really good, and sort of starts to take us down the road of the next part of the story I feel. Like, no more just working hard to create a decent pub, now things all around are getting a little more tricky and serious

Connor (Cyndr)

I definitely agree with y'all's take on the romantic situation in this show, and it's probably the only thing I have unbalanced feelings towards. The revenge drama is SO good, and I love all of the character arcs in the show, but I'm not super interested in the romance, and that's definitely because Saeroyi isn't interested either.

Connor (Cyndr)

What's fascinating to me is how Yiseo and Sooah are impacted by their relationships with Saeroyi though, which is the redeeming part of the "romance" drama we get. In this episode with Yiseo specifically we really get to see how just learning about him and his story is kind of opening her eyes to the struggles of other people and it's actually making her more compassionate as a result. She's a very selfish person, like Sooah, but the difference is that she's young and she hasn't had any real hardships to make her that way, so she's more flexible and is being molded by her relationship with the other characters in the show, Saeroyi being her biggest influence of course.

Viviena

To me that scene felt like Saeroyi opened up about his story to someone for the first time in like ten years so it's about him finally recognizing that it's ok, he can rely on having someone by his side as a friend. It's about human connection rather than romance.

Idk if you noticed but Hojin is played by the same actor as the murderer (with the bottles of blood) in Hotel del Luna! The duality of this man I can't-

I think the mix of the revenge story and the love triangle is the best part. I think that the love triangle plays an important part in the revenge story. Itaewon Class has become my favorite drama so far and I have watched it like 4 times already.

yeah i dont think the intention was to imply that saeroyi was developing feelings for yiseo at all you'll soon realize lol, but rather the other way around, like yiseo actually falling for him for real yk....but wow I was really shocked to know there are people who only watched the show for the romance bc I honestly really don't like it? like there's no development at all and it feels very robotic likei'm sorry the two girls are so unlikeable it feels unreal any person would ever fall for them ever :|

Linh vu

After Itaewon Class can you react to Law School?

B

I think that the not buying the Saeroyi is into either of them is completely valid. But I think it works for the character. There's only place for one thing in his life and it's the revenge that he is seeking. I think that Park Seo-Joon tends to be an actor that really sells his romantic interest in the female lead generally. So I think it's spot on acting.

Mine is a really good show as well.
