I do think the part in episode 2 with (i can't remember his name for the life of me; the first guy to perform at the voting in ep 1) was definitely edited in a way to make him look conniving but what doesn't change the fact is...he still did it. But also who gives an eff, it's a competition? I'd rather someone debut cus they worked for it rather than people who lose but pat themselves on the back for being honorable. No one has broken any rules (aka cheating) so anything other than that it's fair game??

ok ima call it and say most of those grounders are NOT going to make it into enhypen. I'm convinced most of the people who are gonna be in enhypen were in the original 12. I have a few gut feelings about some of the original grounders (mainly sunwoo; if that's his name) but man most of the grounder kids I don't think will make it...

I would love to see you be as unfiltered as you want to be! Among all the youtubers I watch I have the greatest respect for your opinion since you have experience/knowledge in this particular industry!! Even if you are super critical we all know it's not coming from a place of hate but in the viewpoint of a producer! I know while watching this show when it aired I was extremely critical towards most of the ilanders

Evil editing wise, they clearly cut out a lot of the parts where people like Seon are nice to the others but I think the only real "evil editing" is the music that comes on everytime Seon or Niki are on screen. It's more manipulative for dramatic purposes than actual evil editing but still.

Regarding the evil editing, it does happen 100% at some point in part 2 with a specific contestant. People were able to prove the scene was manipulated by mnet using other footage they have. It became an issue because that contestant got a lot of hate for it too :/ (before people found out it was evil editing)

In my opinion there wasn't really evil editing in this show, aside from some of the snippets of how they showed Seon in episode 2. Even that wasn't evil, rather it was just showing what he did to gain the other I-LANDER'S approval and vote. If anything sometimes the ominous and tense music they use in some scenarios makes it seem more dramatic than it is, but I mean, come on, it's a show. It's gotta have that flair otherwise viewership isn't gonna be as high as they want it. As for your critiques, be unfiltered hun. I love when you are more honest and cut throat about these types of shows, and I also agree with you on a few things. I was watching this show when it first was airing and right away I could cut out like half of the trainees from the potential line up because sadly they either didn't stand out, didn't have the confidence, or skill. I think it is why some members are on screen more and focused on a little more than others, like Sunoo is edited in more for his expressions/reactions and Sungchul hasn't really had much screen time. Oh, before I forget, Taeyong reminds me a little of Itzy's Lia in some shots and pictures I've seen of him. Maybe it is the eye shape and lips, but I think there is a slight resemblance. That or I am crazy lmao.

Your honest opinions are part of the reason your viewers like you. I watched this on my own and now that I'm watching it with you it gives me a new perspective of how idols are picked up. Like I'm just truly amazed at all you have to say. Especially because korean viewers like the "kind and gentle" kind of competitors but the truth is that there are going to be the ones who fight with all they have and I'm not saying they have to be bad or cheat but there is going to be tough people. Also I think what Seon did is not bad, he was just making an appeal to the other guys and they just chose him so I don't see really anything bad. Seon I think may be more eager to get picked because he's been training for much longer time than the others.

I definitely would love to hear your more critical comments! This is my fourth time watching all of I-LAND again, and I love watching alongside someone to get their own opinions on what we're viewing. So far with you, I see we share many frustrations or view the contestants in a similar light. Can't wait to hear your opinions in the future eps, more people shine later on! As for evil editing, it really does happen in the show. And I'm not talking about the moments where they slap on some dramatic music or even Seon in the beginning. The show has an I-LAND Cam, think Big Brother with their 24 hour cams concept except it's not completely all day, where viewers could watch the contestants from various angles whether it was aired or not. It was a nice way to see some friendships or interactions that don't get aired on the actual show. Anyways idk if you remember but there was a little scene where it looked like EJ walked out on Daniel when they were in a room together before the first vote out, but it was confirmed through the I-LAND Cam footage that it never happened and Mnet just made it look like he did. It happens more especially in pt. 2 with a specific contestant, and it REALLY put him in a negative light before we found out Mnet was just manipulating the footage again. Things like that really bothered me since it's creating a false impression and it would've had more of an impact on who you would choose to support. Ultimately, I think all of them formed a good bond by the end of I-LAND. They were all being nice kids that Mnet resorted to making up drama.

PD, I strongly I appreciate your producer hat and honest opinions. that's why so many of us follow you as one of the reasons, its your unfiltered honesty. Saying how it is is something me as a viewer appreciate. So please do not sensor your honesty because someone else doesn't agree or view things the same way as you. You add comments that sometimes I as a viewer over look. you know how evil editing and storyline are made in Korean series like this better then most of us, and you have the ability to look past it and put on an objective view which is very refeshing. I at first disliked e.g. Seon's personality but your honestly in episode 2 and opinion made me think otherwise and revaluate him and the situation, thank you and keep being true to yourself.

Also, the narrator that you said looks like the evil dude (I think....??) has actually played a couple of evil characters in dramas!!!! I just found that to be kind of funny!! *Also, this might not be seen/paid attention to..... but when you have time, do you think you could consider reacting to Idol Producer?? It's the very 1st season of the Chinese Produce series! (I suggest this one because I honestly believe that you might like this one the best! [but the other seasons are called Qing Chun You Ni, Youth With You s2, Youth With You s3, Produce 101 China, Produce Camp, Chuang 2020, Chuang 2021) ~I'm probably annoying you with this....... but I'm just suggesting some shows that I do think might be up your alley!! [plus, there's pretty much no evil editing in these shows (maybe a tiny bit for drama, but as a whole, no evil editing!) ~once again, this is just a suggestion!

Omg pls don't sensor yourself. Honestly, part of why I watch your content is for that truth and full producer viewpoint. Also, that harsh reality is what is the truth, not just the evil editing or holding grudges like we sometimes (aka ALWAYS) see in mnet shows. Totally appreciate the honest feedback one of the things that I liked most about I-landthe first time around was that people set their expectations pretty high for the show and therefore were a lot more vocal about giving their opinion on ways it could improve or just the contestants. It sometimes feels like in k-pop media there are the extremes of being absolutely terrible when critiquing idols or coddling them to the point where they can do no wrong, but I think it's much more interesting in between to have constructive criticisms and entertainment is hard not everyone is going to make it so it's totally fair.

I related SO MUCH to PD talking about their mentality & role at the beginning. That's exactly how I am, except for print media. My career goal is to be a content editor because my strength lies not in coming up with the original ideas, but in refining & perfecting others'. I'm here to listen to whatever you've got to say, PD, and if I don't like it I'll tune out. 😋 Can we please talk about how there's a 100% chance Sunwoo isn't straight? I mean, I can't be the only one getting pings from him, right? WHOA gotta disagree w/ what you said about Heesung's thinking. Yeah, maybe you could do that for another test but this one is literally all about TEAMWORK. And, as the evaluators point out, you can't "cheat the system" like that once they're in a real group, because they'll get called out on it faster than they can do their greeting. I knew PD was gonna be mad at the end. 😆 Can't wait for next week!

Hi PD, please don't filter your words. I love your critical critique. It's the reason I follow you on Patreon. Be unapologetic about your predictions of who is going to make it or not. With regards to evil editing, we know there are some parts that MNET evil edit it because there is a bonus footage called "I-LAND cam" that we can watch, and we compared this footage with what is shown on the show. I-LAND cams are the CCTV camera recordings from inside I-LAND and GROUND buildings. They are delayed recordings, and only certain days/hours/rooms were shown. Anyhow, we found enough evidence of evil editing from the I-LAND cams. There are definitely some parts that MNET edited to make a certain story line, making certain people look bad. On episode 2, it was EJ that got the evil editing (see Emily L. comment above). You'll see more evil editing on part 2 of I-LAND (episode 7 onwards). It was crucial back then because it affected how people voted during part 2. I don't want to give too much away, but it was very frustrating.

So I'm watching all your I-land videos for the first time, and I know that it's late, but I wan't to comment anyway. Like it brings back so many memories! I-land was such a tease regarding the end and ground's performance. Also regarding the evil editing, what I felt back than and still to this day, is how people was just sensitive. Like there was so many moments, where people was simply complaying over the competetive nature of a survival show or the fact that we are dealing with a bunch of kids that will make mistakes, and being a idol is not for everyone and some simply needs more time!
