I’m genuinely shell shocked over the news of Kyungjun’s departure. I was on such a high from all the new releases and man this tripped me up.

I had other filming planned for the day but man now I’m bummed.

I have a question regarding Road to Kingdom. TNX was my biggest and only big draw to actually watch that show. I haven’t filmed it yet and I have it scheduled to film next week but this news really bums my motivation to watch.

Without much spoilers, can folks let me know how this affects the show (if at all)?

the news was such a shock to me 😭 enlisting at 22 really doesn’t make sense but contract termination on top of that??? i really don’t know how to say this without spoiling so i’ll just leave it at the show will not be affected at all…

Giu Bressani

I have so many questions about this decision, but I hope he's doing what he thinks it's best for him and that the boys will be okay. only ever wishing happiness for them ♡

Giu Bressani

right? my question is like did he just turn to pnation and said he wanted to leave and pnation said "okay, take care" ???? doesn't make any sense to me

Sarah Gugel

It doesn’t affect the show at all thankfully. Definitely still really upsetting news though. Time to spend some quality time with my comfort group &team.

Iman

my own speculation is that the show must’ve really taken a toll on him which is completely understandable cause that show is….chaos especially this season

Elizabeth

I was wondering if you’d find out about this. I fell in love with tnx with you during loud. I’m in complete shock and it genuinely hurts. At one point kyungjun was at the top of my bias list. Idk what to say honestly. I hope he finds happiness in whatever he does

Aine

Without major spoilers, all I can say is that it does not affect the show at all. You can draw your conclusions from there.

Elizabeth

Knowing how sensitive and shy he is, I can’t help but think about what happened and y?

WiseSmellyLegs

Well… now you know what reminded me to search for the Fuego reaction 😅 I personally watched just most of the first episode, because I did not have much time at that moment and after you said you would watch that, I decided to wait for you. I cannot tell much and at the same time I don’t know how to answer you properly. I guess Aine’s (one patron over here) phrased it perfectly. I can only add that P Nation started a YouTube series focused on The New Six and their career + things regarding their preparation for Road to Kingdom. It is like short documentary episodes for both their fans and people who has just found out about them. And that + the whole vibe of The New Six in this show is like: “If we don’t start to grow and get bigger after this, then who knows if we ever do…” So as for someone, who has been with them from early on, I say: “You should watch it regardless of this information” I wanted to continue more regarding KyungJun, but I guess I should keep that for later on…

WiseSmellyLegs

I would answer you/provide you my point of view and theory, but it involves spoilers…

WiseSmellyLegs

I would say it was not a sudden decision, but it might have been in talks prior to Road to Kingdom

formoftherapy

The phrasing of the press release from PNATION makes it feel like even PNATION had no heads up and KyungJun just applied for the enlistment, and then told them after the fact.

Holly

as someone who watched loud with you the news broke me.. i can’t help but wonder if maybe his super introverted nature + western influence in upbringing made him realize the idol life wasn’t what he wanted and he chose to depart? or maybe there were external factors? tnx won’t be the same but no matter what happened i rly wish him all the best in whatever he decides that he wants to do next </3

Box Fox

The six member curse strikes again

WiseSmellyLegs

I guess we can all talk about it openly in the comments of Road to Kingdom episodes. But for now I say that definitely his mindset has played its role for some time prior to this decision

cy

I've watched LOUD with you and although I didn't keep up with everything in the fandom since then, I tuned into all of TNX's releases. This came to me as a shock as well and it was unexpected but retrospectively, it doesn't seem very out of the blue. I don't know everything that's going on behind the scenes but I can see factors which would compel Kyungun to leave - given his personality, I can see why idol life might not be something he enjoys. They debuted in 2022 and yet TNX has not seen much success compared to some of their peers and the way they have been handled as a group has been disappointing. I really hoped that RTK2 would help boost their popularity (like what happened with TBZ) but given how this show was received as a whole, it really doesn't seem like many people are interested in it. He's 22 and sure, he's very young, but I'd imagine that working so hard but having many factors out of your control, with little to no income, would make me worried about my future as well. Without spoiling the show, I think TNX needs to be very strategic about how they continue on as a group and I don't really feel very optimistic about them given how P Nation has handled them so far. I really really like them as a group but gosh, things just do not seem to be working out :(

Tasia

I'm confused can someone explain. Is he leaving thr group or is it just for military enlistment?

bannsutie

It doesn't affect the show. But, if TNX was the only draw for you to watch the show the least I can say is I don't recommend watching it. I would recommend something like iland 2 or the katseye documentary. iland 2 would be nice since izna is set to debut at the end of the year.

WiseSmellyLegs

He will enlist and after he is done, he will not come back to the group, therefore he has already departured from the group

WiseSmellyLegs

🤔🤔 What would you suggest P Nation could have done better regarding taking care over them?

Sandra l.

I mean if you don't feel like watching the show anymore it's fine. If tnx was your only motivation to watch it then maybe don't... just watch what you feel like watching. The last thing I watched was the kayseye documentary on Netflix and honestly it was very good, you get through the whole process of the training, begind the scenes of the survival show they went through... quite interesting

Rachael Tie

I was wondering the same about him. Seems he really just wants to live a normal life. I just hope they are all ok and can pull through all this. You should still watch pd. The stages are really great and they all worked really hard. They have a YouTube series about the work they put into it too.

krista li

PD I am actively watching it and it doesn't affect the show (that's all I can really say without giving too much away). The other groups are definitely worth watching still (I am becoming a fan of cravity through the show) but if TNX was your main reasoning then id still say the choice is up to you whether to start a watch along

Kim Chaewon

I strongly agree with this^ i think you could maybe watch the TNX performances if you want but i wouldnt recommend watching the full episodes. I also agree ILAND 2 would be a better replacement for the survival show slot. The hype around IZNA has gone up after their impressive kcon performances

orbit wavs

and yet where is JYP LOUD!

Ryan

Arin

If you watch the latest performance they did and see the behind the scenes, without saying too much, it does add to why he may have quit idol life.

Sven Lenders

So, the thing is that it doesn’t affect the show at all, but that might be because of their participation in the show (if they are your only pull in towards the show, you might look for something else). The show is really good but if you don’t feel like watching it if TNX is your only real attraction to the show then I wouldn’t push you to check it out. I will put a list of shows down here for you to give you an overview of what it could be replaced by: Project 7 This show aired for the first time last week and has 200 participants (scales down really fast though). People you know are BP’s Seyun, Yeojun and Jingxiang and LOUD’s Jeongmin and Hyunwoo. Besides them there are also some BAE173 members. This show is the successor to Peak Time. The judges contain some big names like Ryan Jhun, SWF’s Bada Lee, Ha Sungwoon and Lee Haein. They also invited some special judges. Universe League This show didn’t air yet but contains some participants you know like BP’s Woongki and Shuaibo and former TO1’s Kyungho. Judges are people like WAYV’s Ten and Yangyang, Yugyeom and BTOB’s Changsub. Jay Park is the host of the show. It is also the successor to both Universe Ticket and LOUD. Starlight Boys This show didn’t air yet but contains some participants you know like BP’s Daeul, Cong and the rest of the BAE173 boys. Judges are people like Lee Seunggi, Choi Youngjun (BP dance master) Bigbang’s Daesung, Eunbi, The Boyz’ Eric, StayC’s Yoon, Hanhae and Hui. It is a Chinese-Korean show Peak Time This is my recommendation to be honest. The show contains just like road to kingdom a variety of groups that aren’t well known, and the key of the show is that we don’t get to know their group names until they get eliminated, that way you won’t be biased towards a group (unless you recognize them). Judges are people like SUJU’s Kyuhyun, Winner’s Mino (untill he went into the military), MAMAMOO’s Moonbyul (After Mino left), Jay Park, SNSD’s Tiffany, Highlight’s Giwang, Kim Sungkyu and Ryan Jhun. Lee Seunggi is the host of the show. I-LAND 2 I know the poll decided to not check this out, but if you really want to check it out you should, it is still your channel. It is kind of the same as the first season but with some slight changes. Judges are people like Bigbang’s Taeyang and SWF’s Monika and Leejung. Also ZB1’s Hanbin and Somi hosted the final. Universe Ticket This show is the show that created UNIS, you seemed to like them so I thought I might put it in here. The show had 82 contestants of which you might know some of them, like Sunwoo and Hyerin from Girls Planet, Hyeonju from Cignature, Kim Chaewon of TripleS and Kwon Chaewon from former DIA. It was a very international show with participants from all over Asia. The judges were people like I.O.I’s Sejeong, solo artist Younha, SNSD’s Hyoyeon, SWF’s Rian. Also ITZY’s Yeji and Chaeryeong were the hosts of the show. Make Mate 1 Make Mate 1 is also one of my recommendations. The show had 36 contestants, and in my opinion, most of them were phenomenal. A person you might know is BP’s Yuseop. The judges were people like BP vocal trainer Hanbyul, Hanhae, SMF’s Vata and Ingyoo. They also had a lot of guest judges like Hui, (G)i-DLE’s Minnie, Apink’s Namjoo and Chorong, Enhypen members and many more. On a skill level, this show is probably the best. My Teenage Girl Although the show wasn't always fair, there are quite a few people you know from the show, think of Yooyeon and Jiwoo from TripleS, Suhye from MADEIN, Inhye and Yunseo of Badvillain and the Class:y girls. The judges on this show are Fin.K.L's Joohyun, SNSD's Yuri, SWF's Aiki and (G)i-DLE's Soyeon. The show has 83 contestants. Also if you want some feedback on some of these shows, I know that fellow reactor Marco Genusso checks out most of these boy group survival shows as well. So if you want to be sure you could ask him (I saw him on your patreon a few weeks ago so he might also follow you) Maybe you can make a poll with these shows to see what the patreon wants to see the most? But at the end of the day, you need to choose for yourself.

Ebony Coco

Why are you spoiling when they specifically requested not to have any?

Elizabeth Young

It doesn’t impact the show. For TNX fans, the show does allow them and the general population to see what TNX is capable of, but it’s also understandable if that makes it hard to watch if you haven’t already been doing so. Regardless of everything, RTK2 has impressive stages from each group and it is worth seeing what each one does with more freedom and creativity that traditional comebacks may not always have.

Sven Lenders

I'm not going to lie, I am lowkey scared for them disbanding soon.

Lilac Kaur

Honestly I was only watching because of TNX as well and I was kind of sad after this new, but after I realised that The Crew One had very familiar faces and I kept on watching, I started falling into some other teams as well! I think this show is a really good opportunity to explore the other groups if you want to.

Aine

As much as I wish for My Teenage Girl, it's just too old now. I would absolutely settle for PD reacting to the epic 12 minute all class version of their signal song, Same Same Different tho! If they were to pick any show, I would prefer for them to check out a show like Queendom Puzzle (my preference haha) or Peaktime, where PD would at least have a passing familiarity with most of the idols.

Ebony Coco

I'm not sure if you've made your decision yet or not, but I've been trying to gather my thoughts on this for a bit because I'm someone who has loved TNX since their debut and have been following their releases and their content from day one. I think you can still get a lot out of watching the show even if TNX were your main draw, and I especially recommend watching it if potentially knowing why Kyungjun may have made the decision is something you care about. This season has a new element, Aces, and to me, it's been very enlightening when it comes to seeing different group dynamics and how decisions are made between them. I'm a lot like Kyungjun, and was especially so when I was younger, so seeing how TNX handled this Aces aspect of the show versus the youngest group, 8TURN, for example, really told me a lot even before the news about him leaving the group came out. When I'd read the statement, I even thought I'd jinxed it because I'd said while watching that I wouldn't be surprised if something like this happened. Ultimately, the choice of whether to watch or not is up to you, and you may have already made your decision by now, but I just wanted to add my thoughts as someone who loves TNX and was also drawn to watch the show partially because of them. I also know that, like me, you sometimes like to take an analytical approach to watching content and dive deeper beyond just the surface of what is shown, and the Aces aspect of this show makes it different from other survival shows of its kind because the Aces aspect adds an entirely different type of pressure to this show than what is in others, imo, so there's more to see/analyze here, imo.

WHAT? Man he was my bias... :( won't we ever get to see him being an idol again?

h

i was rooting for kyungjun so much on loud. & was genuinely brought to tears seeing his growth from the auditions to now. this news took us all by surprise & i still can't process it. idk how much of the deciasion to leave the group was his, cause we all know pnation is shady with things like this. but i truly wish him all the best & hope he never stops showcasing his talents. god this is surreal.
