IIRC the initial teaser of S17-S20 (no pictures just the numbers) said NEXT. Then stylistically it was changed. The teaser came as a surprise to the girls in their reaction to it cuz they expected it just to be S17 and it go one at a time as usual, but the teaser just kept showing more numbers! First time the we’re gonna reveal 4 in quick succession! NXT and GLOW (last 4) had similar role outs except GLOW’s song came out after ASSEMBLE24. I imagine they wanted to give the NXT members a moment for them since they new the next big tripleS thing would be the first full OT24 album. They had a fan concert for OT20 soon after NXT was revealed, and AAA, KRE, LOVE, EVOL and NXT all got to perform their songs. They even made OT20 formations for Rising and Colorful - but now with OT24 they actually gave lines in the old songs to the newer 8 members. I wanna say, I think going forward they are considered they’re own “unit” I guess, at least for the concerts… “JUST DO IT” was a surprise, cuz I don’t think anyone was expecting new members to get their own single. So I like to think MODHAUS didn’t just want to not give NXT nothing, I imagine all the budget was already set to prepare for ASSEMBLE24. Also - as trainees or “small s” non of the members knew who the other modhaus trainees were, they were scheduled so all their rehearsals never overlapped to the point where they would see each other. NXT we’re already selected by MODHAUS as the next 4, so they were obviously allowed to meet before their reveal. So no gravity for this. (Side note, the Signal of NXT meeting the first 16 members for the first time is sooooo good) There was a lot of hype and speculation that ShiOn would be joining, and a lot of excitement due to her voice. Contrary to popular belief though, Hayeon was the one that did the whistle note!

You're right, PD! This song was not meant as a promotional single. It’s mainly to introduce S17-S20, who were presented as a unit rather than individually like the other girls. S21-S24 were also introduced as a unit, and they're called tripleS Glow. 😊

These things are fluid and plans change....I'm guessing they wanted to get to GND/Assemble 24 as fast as possible bc the gravity subunit were losing a little steam so they block introduced the last 8 members into 2 blocks. I'm guessing they wanted to get GND out in 2024 but had they done a gravity they a) would had to wait to introduce EIGHT girls and b) stagger 2 comebacks. We mightve very well had GND now if that had happen. I'm guessing they really wanted to get GND out in early spring 2024 with the gigantic promotion they did with it, doing something like that now would be a nightmare with all the sports going on and holidays (also coulda just been a money thing)

Hayeon is an interesting idol....there's nothing she does poorly, it's just that everything she does is like B/B+ solid, rock solid-but literally everything, there's no "weakness", there's just nothing (from a performance perspective) that is A+++ but that being said, her true talent is just talking and being in front of the camera (there's a reason why modhaus was sending her out to radio shows predebut and why she does solo vlives often). She KNOWS how to be in front of the camera or mic. I totally woudn't be surprised if she ended up 8 years from now being the Dayoung (WJSN) or Seunghee (OMG) of the group and everywhere in K-Entertainment. I think maybe it's because I'm Korean but she's my favorite member bc she's absolutely hilarious and really clever and decisive in her speaking style (눈치 많이있어)

It was the first time after S16 Mayu that members were NOT revealed one by one, and that caught us (including the members) by surprise, probably cause ASSEMBLE24 should happen soon in 2024. We never had a Gravity or anything for NXT girls, everything was MODHAUS, they got tho after that their individual teasers as usual, and their individual Welcome to the HAUS signal episodes. They revealed their positions in a Joobin's signal segment called "JooManSa" (주만사: 주빈 만난 사람들), Lynn: main dancer. Shion: main vocal. Hayeon: all-rounder. Joobin: main visual. Lynn, no more to say, PD knows her charisma and dancing skills. All NXT members are in the tall side of tripleS yes but Lynn comes 2nd or 3rd place after Xinyu and I think she is tied up in height with second tallest Jiwoo. Shion, with her Gowon-like-crunchy voice, she is one of the main vocals in tripleS too, taking Dahyun lines when TeamA and TeamB performed GND in groups of 12 members. She's appeared in a show with Dahyun as main vocalist covering some songs, i believe this is the episode, no subs though (sadly not even MangoNim have it subbed, correct me if I'm wrong): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JZmS0V73Q04 Hayeon, all-rounder, the most flirty and kisser girl in tripleS (after Xinyu), she is literally an all-rounder, she might not be a Dahyun vocalist or a Kaede dancer, but she is really great in what she does, the high dolphin notes adlibs in Just Do It are hers. Joobin, by the time NXT was revealed, she became the new maknae, Yeonji became an unnie. She does not have a maknae vibes, although she can be really cute, she is mature too, her vocals in Chiyu are incredible, she also is tall among the maknaes, taller than Soomin, Yeonji, Seoah, Chaewon, honorary-maknae-Mayu ... I’m not mad that we don’t have full albums and promotions for the newer units, I think it’s far better for the girls themselves because they are incredibly young and it will give them more of edge having promoted in GND under the comfort ability of the ot24 group, especially some of them have such short training periods (SULLIN LITERALLY JUST GOT TO KOREA☠️) and I think this gave them a nice introduction but not throwing them into the deep end yet and getting some more training and experience under their belts before being put under a microscope for a unit, I think it’ll also give a confidence boost + they have some time to figure out their identity as idols

I think the main reason would have been the fact that 2024 was coming to an end pretty fast and MODHAUS wanted their 24 member group (Jaden Jeong you smart philosophical f*cker) to make their debut that year. But for that to happen 8 more girls needed to join in pertty quick (Jayden might have felt the hype of the rookies of the year). So they decided to reveal them in their groups (Glow being the other unit). That way "GND" would have come out in the middle of 2024. They could have gotten an album but then that might have been rushed and not been worth it, so shooting a good performance video might have been better (they were also already preparing GND at the time). By the way, NXT is pronounced like this "엔엑스트"

I think Joobin sounds a bit like Dayeon from Kep1er when singing, besides that, I also think she might have the potential to become one of the "It" girls in the future, she has long limbs, a good looking face and a precious smile. I think she will be way more appreciated in the future. The other girls are visuals too, but she will mature more and her features will become even stronger.

NXT is the official fifth sub-unit comprised of S17-S20. Shortly after EvoLution’s promotion period ended, MODHAUS release a teaser “tripleS NEXT” which showed that S17-S20 will be revealed at the same time. Which was a plot twist for most WAVs at the time lol Dec 11, 2023 - First group photo was released, showing all four members running away while holding hands (only backs are shown lol) Dec 14, 2024 - video teaser was released revealing the official sub-unit name NXT, members’ backs only shown walking away Dec 21 - Lynn’s Photo/name reveal (Main Dancer) Dec 22 - JooBin’s Photo/name reveal (Visual) Dec 23 - ‘Just Do It’ digital single released, then JeongHaYeon’s Photo/name reveal (All-Rounder) Dec 24 - ParkShiOn’s Photo/reveal (Main Vocal) Dec 26-29 - Video teasers for each member released Dec 31 - Performance video release No gravity was involved in this (naturally-occuring unit as per Modhaus). The official debut date is Dec 23, 2024, but the NXT members consider GND as their official debut. The NXT members first appeared on Signal on Jan 2, 2024, so basically this is the first video where we got to know the NXT members. :) IMO, they decided to reveal the members together so they can schedule the OT24 by mid-2024. 2024 should be fitting for the complete member debut year haha I also think they integrated the new members as a group (like with Glow) so they can adjust easier. (Might be underwhelming for a single member to go barge in a 16-member group, at least they have each other going in). The previous member (Mayu) was revealed five months earlier so there is a big gap.

Something to know about the chosen members - it's the one thing we NEVER had to vote on (thank god). Jaden/Modhaus picked them and slowly revealed them to us over time. The final 8 (NXT and GLOW) were a deviation from the pattern previously established for members reveals, which was one by one. Now that we have all 24, I'll miss the 'reveal' era of TripleS. You can't imagine it. For almost TWO years, from the first appearance of Seoyeon (May 1st, 2022) to the final reveal of Jiyeon (April 4th, 2024) - the absolute fun, the deep dive investigations, and the sheer CLOWNERY, of us WAVs trying to figure out each new member. 😆 The "S24 Xiaoting" theory ALONE. Also people were CONVINCED Hitomi was S22. Lmao Good times.
