This episode always gets me 😭 Thank you for sharing your thoughts, PD! I understand Tsukki's mindset in this: what's the point of giving your all if there will always be someone better? If you'll still lose along the way ?(I wonder if this is also some subconscious effect of them losing to Aoba Johsai) And for Yamaguchi, that's almost an insult to him because that one missed serve was so important to him, and he's working his way towards improving. What matters is that you play on the court and leave the court with no regrets. Also love how Daichi and Suga worry about Tsukki but know not to push him because you can't force someone to be more passionate after all. And love Bokuto too for sharing his experience, I feel like he really sympathizes with tsukki <33

I am a broken record at this point but I can’t say enough about how good haikyuu is and how this tsukki development aches my heart, there’s something more real or at least more relatable to most about his own emotional baggage, his and yamaguchis relationship and their personalities, it hits a certain spot of the more common avoidant response and having a double sided bravado of i don’t care so I’m aloof and cool but also it’s bc if i care it will hurt and I can’t do that bc of insecurities, seeing him breakthrough that with everyone’s help is so cathartic — pessimism can often be used as a self protection method and in actuality trying and being hopeful is the more courageous and powerful thing to do

I appreciate your talks after each episode, it really gets me thinking about myself and my attitude towards the sport I play and life in general. I've rewatched Haikyuu plenty of times already, but I'm amazed at how it still makes me cry. Thank you PD!
