"What's gotten into you?" Amanda asked while they walked down the stone pathway. Ruth had just left the party with Ada's best friend, yet she wasn't expecting her to be so curious about her behavior. Ada was a naturally timid girl who hated being in the spotlight, but with Ruth possessing her body, Amanda had noticed a massive shift in her friend's behavior. Ruth loved parties, and she enjoyed meeting new people. She was the opposite of Ada, both in personality and appearance.

Ruth's old body had been something she refused to go back to. She was a chubby girl who low self-esteem who loved dealing with people. She was Ada's supervisor at their customer service center, and after working together for nearly three years, Ruth felt nothing but frustration towards her coworker. Ada was a gorgeous girl who hated dealing with people - she had so many opportunities to make her life better, and yet she never capitalized on what she naturally had. To Ruth, that was the biggest punch in the gut. Ada had a body to die for, and she came from a family of well-connected people who could get her any job she wanted. Yet she stayed at the customer service center and specialized in answering emails and text messages for their managers. She never wanted to deal with people over the phone, and she hated the idea of having to deal with her father's network to get a better job. She just wanted to do her job and go home to her manga books. She proudly called herself a glorified otaku, and Ruth decided that she was going to help change her life forever.

Ruth didn't come from a rich and well connected family, but she did have an interest in the occult. After finding a potion book and learning how to brew a body possession potion, she decided to use it on Ada. She snuck several drops into her coworker's drink at work, and once she knew that Ada had returned home, Ruth immediately drank her potion. She also drank a separate potion to help guide her soul to her intended target. The potion had originally been a body swap potion, so the addition of the separate potion made it so that Ada's soul wouldn't go into Ruth's old body. Within minutes, the potion did its work, and the body thief felt her soul slipping flawlessly into Ada's gorgeous body.

And now she was perfect. "What do you mean?" Ruth finally asked after a moment of silence. Her heart dropped the moment they stopped at the bus stop.

"You're never usually like that," Amanda laughed. "I kind of like it. Everybody there was surprised that you were even willing to approach them. You even flirted with Jed." Amanda laughed even louder. "That's Audrey's ex, remember?"

Ruth didn't even realize it, but it all made sense. Audrey was Ada's high school bully. While everybody had mellowed out after high school, the body possessor did notice a sense of disgust or anger in the other girl's eyes. That only made Ruth shrug. "Well, she shouldn't have been such a bitch. She shouldn't be so jealous about another girl flirting with a guy she cheated on."

"That's the other thing too," Amanda added. "You're usually skulking away and avoiding conflict. You literally stood your ground and forced her to back off. That was fucking awesome."

When Ruth listened closely to what Amanda was saying, she couldn't help but smile. She was afraid that she'd been discovered. But as she continued to live on as her beautiful coworker, she realized that everybody loved the new version of Ada. She was everything you'd expect from an attractive woman. That wasn't to say Ada's old body didn't feel weird and out of place. Ruth's soul was used to her chunky figure, so when she felt the silkiness of the other girl's skin or the way the soft curves of her body wrapped tightly around her, it was still a bit jarring. She had been waiting for the chance to find somebody beautiful, and once she finally found herself in this gorgeous body, Ruth was not going to let anybody or anything take it from her. She was the new Ada, now and forever.
