Boeing was SO scared of the C-Series, especially after loosing a contract with Delta to the C-Series. That triggered a dispute in USA. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSeries_dumping_petition_by_Boeing The Canadian government had cancelled years before that a contract to buy Lockheed F-35 Lightning II fighter jets. It was on its was on its way to buy dozens of Boeing F-18 Super Hornet fighter jets instead. Then Boeing initiated this petition, which lost them the contract for the Super Hornet. The Canadian government started over the process in order to select the F-35. That caused a 10 years + delay to replace the aging CF-18 Hornet, but that backstab from Boeing to Bombardier cannot be just put under the rug, the government had to find a way to give one to Boeing.

Very good video, as usual. Question: Near the end of the video, Petter, you say the pilots verified their airspeed and altitude with the controller to confirm their instruments were operating correctly. Doesn't the controller just see what the plane's transponder is sending? Does that really verify instruments? I recall that's what happened in the crash of an aircraft into the Pacific Ocean at night off the cost of South America several years ago.
