After posting the most recent Turret video, I was asked if I had the Omniturn back up and running. I'd posted some still pics of parts from it a few days back on the Guild, but as I was running more parts today, I thought I'd add a quick video here. :)

Ye, it's back up and running, and doing very well, thank you. Now I just need to get off my duff and push some more parts through it. :)

The Return of the Omniturn!

After posting the recent turret-lathe video, I was asked if I had the Omniturn back up and running. Yes, yes I do. :) The batches of parts I've been running have all been done partly on the Omni, and partly on the turret. Smart money would have been to do the entire thing on the CNC, but the power supply issue, and minor tooling issues (like a lack of a tapping head for the Omni) made this the best route for the moment.

How far back from the machine do you have the camera set up so that it doesn't get hit with the debris and goop?

Depending on the camera/lenses(and my guess of distances/sizes), 1-2 ft? Not a huge part, so it wouldn't have to be too far.
