Being honest, you picked the WORST time for this. Like, the literal worst from a stress perspective. Didn't need more worry on top of the us election.

My apologies, then. I'd initially started it as a quick Halloween segue`, intending it to be over by, well, Halloween. I hadn't, however, actually 'scripted' it, and after it was rolling, realized I couldn't tell it all properly in time. Hang in there, we'll get some exposition next week. :)

I’m sure the violence Doc would bring upon A-train and Packrat would leave even Butcher and the Homelander aghast.

im sure. Quick question related to the lack of Patreon stuff recently (I don't mind all that much, I like supporting my creators regardless), but have you considered posting comics a day or two early to Patreon? In the worst case it would allow for you to have a bit of a buffer if you needed it on the main site, and in the best case, it gives patrons something for their pledge.

Hey - they got back together in just a few days so everything's cool. If there isn't ever any tension, then it's "The Family Circle" and not as interesting.

I'd love to, but generally speaking, I draw each comic the night before. Ideally, I'd love to do the entire week's comics over the weekend, and then have the week itself open, which, to be honest, would help my overall workflow. But it's tough to do that, from both a time and idea/writing standpoint. Sometimes it's tough to come up with ONE good joke, let alone five in a row. :) I've been trying to improve, but I don't always have the time.

In light of what some Patreon backers felt about the recent storyline, I think Mark's fan comic is in quite poor taste.

Taking the opportunity to comment. I appreciate you more-or-less ending this little storyline in a happy note. I do wish it had happened at a different time, but I totally understand how hard it can be to choreograph around the rest of your several jobs. Thanks for NOT killing off a beloved character, and I look forward to the end of the tourney day, whenever that happens (probably Easter or something 😆)

I started reading this comic a few weeks ago, and caught up just as the Jackal showed up and stuff went down. Its a great comic, I enjoy it and honestly, I suspected/hoped that it was a fakeout, but man, after reading years of archives, waiting a few weeks for this to happen was torture. I think it was drawn out a bit too much, but to be honest, that's part of what suggested that it was a fakeout, you don't draw a webcomic out that if the payoff is sad. That and the Jackal specifically mentioning Cara only, and not mentioning any other fallout. Anyway, looking forward to what happens next.

... This sounds like something I would make as a form of comedy...

A lot of the possible fallout discussed on the main forum, was us trying to account for _everything_ that _could possibly_ be impacted be such a universal change.

I was expecting this to run at least another month, with a soppy happy ending just in time for Christmas.
