Our Item Cards are objects you can find in our world, usually accompanying the series we tackle that month. This might help you visualize the world and its creations better: add items for effects on your players, simply add them to your treasure box for flavor or use them as a quest item.

We held a poll earlier this month in which we asked all of you guys to tell us what sort of Items you would like to see for Shinrinyoku no Forest. We really liked the ideas that were there and decided to go with both Sarah’s ‘Hama Yumi’ bow and  Joe’s ‘Ancestral Sword.’ Thanks for the suggestions guys!

  It is said that samurai of old, after coming back from war, would celebrate their honor and drink sake from a gourd to boost their recovery. Over time, the sake was infused with healing properties and the tradition’s ceremony evolved to literally boost warriors' recovery after safely returning home. It might leave the drinker intoxicated and unsteady on their legs.

  In the past this mask served disciples of Jiyu Clan, who idolized the ideology of  embracing a person’s true freedom. From taking over other clans to leaving behind despair to those who simply crossed their paths, they laid claim to whatever they felt was worth it in that moment. They had recently vanished, however, the mask and the power that come from it remains. Worn by those aligned with chaos, the Mask hides the ‘current you’ and brings out your ‘true self’… a person of true chaos.

  Created under the rising sun and blessed by the passing of autumn, the ‘flower rain’ is a powerful longsword that can carry wind behind each slash, boosting its cutting speed. It is said that its every strike leaves behind a trail of Cherry-blossom petals

  According to legend, at that time, a land in the east was taken over by an evil demon. It caused the shogun of the time to fall ill with great anxiety and suffering. They were at a loss. Finally, an archer named Yamato was summoned in the hopes of slaying the demon with bow and arrow. With a steady hand and a virtuous heart, Yamato vanquished the demon with the first arrow, and his bow was declared to be Hama Yumi, an “Evil-Destroying Bow.”
