I just want to take a minute to let everyone know that I'm still working on new stuff, and apologize for my slow progress lately.  Life's distractions make it difficult to keep my head in the game, so a lot of what I've done has gone straight in the wastebasket.  But I'm still moving along, and hope to have a new Dee piece up in the next day or so.

For those who don't know, my wife and I are in the process of relocating, and it's proven to be a huge project.  Our house is in northern Idaho, but she's been working an internship in Reno for the last year and a half.  Now she's worked her way up to a permanent position in Seattle, which she just started this week.  She's worked very hard to get where she is now, and I'm extremely proud of her.  Plus, hopefully I'll be able to get some medical coverage soon.  My last checkup was 23 years ago, so I'm probably due.

Meanwhile, I'm not only trying to get work done in my studio, but also get everything in order so that I can move over to Seattle, so we're not paying for two households.  We thought this was going to happen in the spring, but I'm scrambling to try and get it done this fall, instead.  The sooner we get this done with so I can focus more on art, the better.  So, I've been working on repairing the house, showing it to potential buyers, putting our old '72 Plymouth back together so I can drive it out of here, and sorting though our possessions in an effort to downsize massively.  Thanks so much to all of you who have been patient while I'm doing all of these things at once.  Both of us really appreciate your support!  Meanwhile, I'm still producing new art, and I'm sure I'll get faster again once I get a few of these other things wrapped up.

So, besides my two friends who have already visited my studio, who else here is from the Seattle area?  Anyone?

Good luck with everything, Andy! Moving experiences of that kind are tons of work and rarely fun.

Ah, three friends, actually! I keep forgetting that one of our local guys moved to Seattle a while ago.

My wife and I moved 800 miles for very similar reasons about 2 years ago. Its a huge amount of work. My advice on packing would be if you feel you can live with out it or replace it easly. then sell it or donate it. Were still unpacking boxes... Mostly its stuff i hace no Idea why we moved it.

Wow, I feel lucky- our move is only 300 miles. The bigger trick for us is that I need to get the house sold to make the finances work out. As for stuff, yeah- I've been selling off cars and thinning stuff out slowly for about a year now. Except that now I'm out of time to do it slowly. I actually just got back from running another pickup load of old car parts and extra household stuff to the dump.
