The 3-month injury recovery plan:

Well, I was able to talk a bit with a doctor (not in person yet) about what I've got, and the outlook is generally good (80% of people make a full recovery), BUT, it takes quite a long time to recover from it without complications and risking re-injury. On the order of 3 more months minimum. So, I've decided to reopen my Patreon and post sketches that I make with my opposite hand meanwhile.

My character contest and $35 tier will be canceled for the next 3 months, but I'll do themed sketches and random patron sketches occasionally with your characters for all Patrons above the $5 tier.

New goal: after recovery I want to get a large Cintiq so that I can not only use just my arm to draw as much as possible to save my wrist, but also work on a fully ambidextrous process of drawing. I'm hoping that way I'll be able to preserve both of my hands and have a more elegant and balanced workflow. This Patreon for the next few months will essentially be working as a tip jar toward a 24" Cintiq, which will help me become a more resilient artist.

So if you'd like to stay and support me for these next 3 months, I love you and am super grateful for your support - and if you decide to leave until my full return, that's fine too and I still love you! I'll be back to full strength one day soon enough.

Thank you all so much for sticking with me through a terrible injury. I've very much learned what NOT to do now, and will be much more respectful to my body and process in the future.

Anyway, the plan is for Patreon to be opened for December onward, and I'll be posting new sketches as I can make them with my opposite hand and we'll see how things go meanwhile. Will update you guys when I get to see the doc in person.

Base Progression

This sounds like a good plan! It will be very interesting seeing what you turn out with your other hand. :) I had bad carpal tunnel/tendinitis in both my wrists a few years ago. It's a tough and frustrating recovery, and I get little flare ups every few months, but it fades, especially if you remember your therapy exercises.

Always will be in full support for both you and the bun!!

That's what I'm afraid of, but good to hear you got it under control. Hoping for the same or even better if it's possible for me!
