Tier Changes (Patreon)

In the next several hours/days, I will be implementing some tier changes.

There will be a $2 price increase for every tier (excluding the Audiobook Tier).

This price increase will ONLY impact new patrons. So if you stay in your current tier, you will continue to receive the same price and same rewards. If you leave, and decide to rejoin later, you will have to pay the new pricing.

Unfortunately, with increasing costs, I'm not sure it makes sense not to raise prices. It has been almost ten years since I created this page. While costs of living have been increasing substantially, income from this page has started decreasing, despite the integration of longer chapters and more rewards.

The Base Tier admittedly does not even cover the patreon platform fees and payment processing fees. New tax reporting rules this year have hit creator-incomes particularly hard. And because of worsening RSI in my hands, I have taken to hiring contractors for editing and other tasks. I've also had to invest money in healthcare and costly hardware/software for accessibility purposes, but writing this content has become very time-consuming without the ability to type chapters by hand anymore. I estimate that it takes at least twice as much time to write one chapter than it used to when I first created this page (before I developed RSI).

I truly hope to improve this page over the next year. The increasing tier costs will also help me to spend less time at my primary job, and hopefully make my efforts here more worthwhile, financially.

As always, I appreciate your support. My DA & AO3 content is entirely free. Most of my patreon content will continue to trickle down to those platforms. So if these price increases are too high, I completely understand. But again - if you simply stay in your current tier, you will not be affected by any price changes.
